  1. Still waiting for the NFL compensation board to correct the pick for Edmunds
  2. 1. OJ....he's the reason this LA kid started following the Bills. Was it a gift or a curse? 2. Rob Johnson...good ole RoboSack. I know Flutie has his haters but this SC loser was utterly useless. Bandana Bob.... 3. Chris " lunchpail" Kelsay....like Gunner said, it was like the organization didn't care anymore running this AJE clone out there every year. Yay...5 sacks a year! 4. Last but not least Tremaine Edmunds. The greatest coverage lb in the history of the Bills who could stay within 10 yards of Travis Kelce. You could count on 1 hand how many big plays he made in his Bills career. At least he's still raw at 22. ....honorable mentioned goes to all the loser coaches of the drought.
  3. For all the crazy personalities and weird interactions, this forum is way better than Reddit where merely a contrarian opinion gets you permanently banned. Sure a post you made may go missing like a Boeing whistleblower, but at least I haven’t had to make another account here. If there’s one example of the type of argument that was particularly annoying was the people who seemed to think that Terrell Edmund’s height and wingspan was somehow a stat in the passes defended column against throws that weren’t attempted in his direction. Psychic passes defended or something. But in general, it would be helpful if people remembered that instead of trying to tell others they’re wrong (which makes most double down), try persuading them to your viewpoint.
  4. Crazy to think about now in today’s day and age: Allen Pick: sent #12, and two 2nds, for pick #7 Edmunds: sent #22 an early 3rd and 6th, for #16
  5. When you see it laid out like this you realize how much turn over there’s been in the last couple of seasons from the entrenched ‘household’ names we’d all become accustomed to during this era of Bills football. Now gone are: Singletary Morse Gabe Davis Diggs Edmunds Tre White Poyer Hyde I know it’s all part of the business but it has to be weird for guys like Josh, Milano and Ed Oliver to look around the locker room.
  6. Younger than Tremaine Edmunds! (by three months)
  7. A kicker’s agent is really free money. An agent can’t “convince” a GM that their guy does this better or that better, or there’s any untapped potential that should earn bigger bucks. For a kicker, it’s pretty straight forward. There’s obviously categories to mark, but physical attributes don’t factor in like every other position. It’s like if Edmunds was a kicker. Theres no way he’d ever become overrated by $$ or fans. Doesn’t matter if your kicker is young, long, fast.. if you can’t kick, nobody is going to be clamoring to keep you around. If Butkner was interested in free agency (AND WHY THE HELL WOULD HE BE???) he might have an agent. Know what Lamar ended up doing with no agent.. getting no real offers to the point of league collusion and signed with the only team he’s ever known anyways. IF Lamar knew what he was doing, then it was making a bunch of noise, putting the LEAGUE in a bad spot, and reaping the rewards of the league and Ravens paying him off to not cause anymore bad media attention. Such a weird situation. He got what he wanted. The Ravens ended up doing what they needed to. And yet, it was a mess. Jackson’s fault all the way, and he’s lucky the Ravens are solid for allowing him to back into that ideal contract. But man.
  8. Agreed. And gone are Edmunds, Poyer, Hyde, White, Settle etc.. That doesn't absolve Diggs. He's a WR1 making big money. He hasn't stepped up when it matters.
  9. All McDermott's DTs are "rotational guys" I'm gonna sound like a gol durn broken record, but there was much ranting and wailing and gnashing of teeth about Beane drafting Terrel Bernard in Rd 3 - a guy who was too small and light and projected out as a weak side LB in the NFL. Well, so far the evidence says that it may have been a good pick (and may also be an example of drafting to fill an essential position before it's a desperate need), since he and Tre Edmunds overlapped a year. Even more wailing and gnashing about Dorian Williams last season, if he works out this season Beane looks smart and look, drafting before it's a desperate hole. Ditto DeWayne Carter - we drafted him while he has a year to develop. Of course, if he doesn't work out, like Cody Ford didn't work out on OL and Zack Moss didn't work out here at RB, then Beane is dumb.
  10. I get the minority hiring comp picks or if a team truly wants a player back, but it seems weird that if a team actively lets a player go, why should they get a comp pick. Edmunds for example, it really doesn’t seem like we had any intention of re-signing him. Then we have a SB team getting the most comp picks, so we can’t say they are given out for parity.
  11. he's only 4 years older than Trumaine Edmunds.
  12. Seeing as the Bills got totally screwed on the conpensitory pick for Edmunds it wouldn't surprise me if Beane bundled some lat round picks to get into the 3rd round .
  13. last year people were getting all worked up about losing Edmunds, who is going to replace him. Beane said- sometimes the replacement is already on the roster. Terrel Bernard is a dawg! This year people are getting all worked up about replacing Diggs. Beane said- sometimes the replacement is already on the roster. Beane very well can be talking about Hamler or Shavers or Shorter
  14. This just isn’t true. 2017-white, dawkins, jones, Milano all started (so did Peterman for about 30 minutes) 2018-Josh, Edmunds, Phillips, Johnson all started 2019-Oliver, Singletary, Ford, and Knox all started 2020-no starters 2021-Spencer brown started and I think Rousseau started some games as well 2022-Benford started 2023-Kincaid, Torrance started As our team has gotten better, it has gotten harder for rookies to earn a starting role. Why ascribe the decision to not start rookies to arrogance? Or, for that matter, which rookies should have started besides the ones I listed?
  15. The player is either good enough to extend or not worth 1 more year with the 5th year option. What did the Bills really accomplish by using the 5th year option on Edmunds & then letting him walk? The goal is to get a guy who will earn a 2nd contract, not just 1 more year before he leaves because the team had to make a decision after his 3rd season.
  16. There are a LOT of bad safeties and bad team safety situations in the NFL. The Eagles are another one. They were so desperate at the position that they traded for kevin byard mid-season (early 5th, early 6th, and terrell edmunds), although that was a failure and he’s no longer on the team. Let’s wait and see. Maybe the Bills thought their o-line room was pretty set. Do you think Kyle Dugger was a bad value pick? He was 37th overall.
  17. Wr is getting similar discourse as Linebacker last season. I think Shakir has the chance to be top targeted Wr in the offense. In Allens career that player had alot of success. Brown, Beasley, Diggs all had career years with Allen. I think Shakir has a year similar to Browns 2019. 70 plus catches over 1,000 yards close to 10 TDs. Benard stepped in and on day 1 there wasn't much a drop off from Edmunds. I think Shakir has the same effect on the offense. Will have a shockingly small drop off from Diggs.
  18. So there are only 5 impact QBs in the NFL? Only 5 impact RBs? Good thing we have a RB that finished 3rd in yards from scrimmage in the NFL. What about DT? Oliver finished 4th in sacks, or can there by 10 DTs since teams usually play 2. Do we have to wait for PFF or ESPN to tell us their top 5 or can we think for ourselves? I’m sorry for being a little sarcastic, but these definitions that are being proposed are way too limiting or too subjective or too media driven. They don’t account for emerging or young players that are beginning to make huge impacts for their teams or players that don’t get media accolades or positions that are stacked with talent. For example ESPN’s top 100 didn’t list T Johnson. Isn’t he acknowledged as the best slot corner in the NFL? What about Cook? Last year was a breakout campaign. Does he have to replicate that season again to be anointed as an impact player or can we all agree that he was one of the top 5 backs in the NFL last year and hope we get a repeat performance this season. Oliver and Dawkins are two of the most underrated players in the NFL. Who cares that the media rarely sings their praises. They are indispensable to the Bills. Would you trade Benard for Edmunds? Yeah, didn’t think so! He was 12th in tackles but isn’t an impact player because we stop counting at the top 10? So how about Diggs? Is he still an impact player? He is the only receiver to catch 1000+ the last 5 years but he was outplayed by Shakir in the 2nd half of the season on 1/3rd of the targets.
  19. I agree with your take. I'm still pissed that we didn't get that 3rd rounder for Edmunds. I do think that Beane will look to move up, but I don't think there will be any takers. Trading down seems very likely. Maybe we move down a couple spots with San Francisco, and get one of their many draft picks. Then find someone early in the second round to trade with?
  20. His first five seasons in the NFL 2016-2021 he was one of the best LBs in football. Zero doubt. It was much commented on at the time in the Tremaine Edmunds debates but at the time there was definitely an inbalance in LB talent that skewed towards the NFC. He had some injuries never quite seemed to recover some of his speed and his zest after that. I am surprised he isn't older to be honest. But this is his 4th team in 4 years for a reason. He isn't quite the guy he used to be.
  21. Von miller contract Dawson Knox contract Stephen diggs contract Defense line draft picks that never pan out Defense tackle signings that are not good enough No reliable pass rusher Wyatt Teller give away Edmunds Star contract Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully
  22. I don't see that happening, unfortunately. It would have happened by now. They "corrected" Cincinnati fairly quickly and there's been nothing since. And you best believe Beane was on the phone immediately just like Cincinnati was. It seems that Edmunds being hurt for a couple games hurt us. Wild that even on another team, Edmunds still found a way to disappoint us.
  23. Outside Diggs this offense is so much more loaded than 2020. Oline is leaps and bounds better. Beane will correct the receiver issue. I have no doubt about that. On the defensive side 2020 was better but I actually might take the 2024 front 7. That 2020 secondary though was All Pro level. Kinda comes down to Bernard vs. Edmunds. Rosseau vs. Hughes. Epenesa/Miller vs. Addison and Jones vs. Harrison. Personally I am taking 2024 in every case with Rosseau vs. Hughes being a push and maybe Edmunds ahead of Bernard but its close.
  24. I wouldn't rule out a trade to either move up or back. Beane has shown he will do that. Allen and Edmunds are examples of that as far as moving up goes.
