  1. With two rushing TDs already this season, Josh needs only two more to tie OJ Simpson for #2 all-time in Bills rushing TDs. If my math is right, he is currently #6 among all active NFL players in career rushing TDs, with a shot at finishing the season at #4. (AK will get a bunch more.) I think this is the current top 6 list: Derrick Henry - 94 Ezekiel Elliott - 72 Latavius Murray - 59 Alvin Kamara - 58 Melvin Gordon - 56 Josh Allen - 55
  2. Reports are that Allen was in for Xrays briefly and that his hand was NOT wrapped in the locker room after the game.
  3. Josh co-stars in this commercial with (I had to look it up) rapper Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Kelce, Justin Jefferson, and Derrick Henry: I'm not really big on modern-day media hyperbole but it is Josh and there's a nice Buffalo-centric touch to it. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_iU84kxiYI/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  4. Just curious how long it takes until some people try to twist this into something negative
  5. Reaction to Josh Allen poster in Downtown Buffalo https://www.wgrz.com/article/life/people/bills-mafia/josh-allen-poster-in-downtown-buffalo-reaction/71-0db4fcd5-60ae-487e-8565-386ce9964a6a I saw it on my way home from work today it is massive.
  6. Article reports that Josh’s sister posted on Twitter / X earlier today that their mother’s father passed away. Josh will not be attendance at Saturday’s game as he will be with family for services. Fanrecap: Josh Allen to Miss Crucial Preseason Game After Family Tragedy Given that when his grandmother passed a few years ago, fans donated to the Oshei Cancer Center in Buffalo, I’m sure a cause can be found in the coming days to let him and his family know that Bills Mafia stands with them.
  7. Based strictly on the Jaguars game, here are the top ten things wrong with Josh Allen. 1. His mustache 2. His passer rating wasn't perfect. 3. His indecision - all night long he was telling his backs and receivers presnap to line up here, no, over there, no, this way. 4. His sliding 5. His fear of jumping over people 6. He threw a ball way out of bounds. 7. He was 0-for-4 on standup touchdown passes, a little known but important stat. All four receivers hit the ground after catching his TD pass. 8. No good screen passes 9. He upset team morale by letting one of his receivers be late 10. His hair Other than that, he was pretty good. Overrated, but pretty good.
  8. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5777845/2024/09/19/nfl-quarterbacks-short-pass-trend/ Sean McDermott was chatting with caddie Ted Scott over the summer about strategy and sports psychology when Scott mentioned how his boss, PGA star Scottie Scheffler, has adopted the mindset of just trying to hit singles around the course. “Scottie Singles” has now won a pair of majors, including this year’s Masters, and has been ranked the No. 1 player in the world for more than two years. The strategy resonated so much with the Buffalo Bills head coach that he relayed the story to his star quarterback, Josh Allen, who is an avid golfer. Allen immediately saw the connection. Allen, like many quarterbacks around the league, has been forced to adapt to the NFL’s changing defensive schemes. It wasn’t long ago when Allen was Buffalo’s power hitter, ripping chunk plays from the pocket on the seams and go routes to the outside. Now he’s often looking across at two deep safeties positioned to eliminate the big play, leaving him content to be a slap hitter: Singles up the middle on short, quick passes until the Bills reach the red zone. “It’s understanding that when I do take risks, that they’re calculated, and the reward is well worth it,” Allen told The Athletic. “I haven’t thrown the ball too many times downfield.” He’s not alone. It has only been two weeks, but 31 percent of Allen’s targets have been at or behind the line of scrimmage, according to TruMedia data, putting him well above a fast-rising league average. More than 24 percent of the league’s throws this year have been at or behind the line of scrimmage, while quarterbacks are averaging 7.4 air yards per attempt. That’s the highest percentage, and the lowest air yards, through the first two weeks since TruMedia began tracking such data in 2006. The trickle-down effect is deflated passing numbers across the league. The only quarterback to throw for at least 250 yards in each of the first two games this season? The Las Vegas Raiders’ Gardner Minshew. Some of the game’s biggest names — and arms — have been corralled by stingy defenses willing to give up the underneath to protect the over the top. It has forced quarterbacks like Allen to stay patient. “When we get into the red zone we’ll find more ways to get exotic and score because it is a little harder down there,” Allen said. “But we’re not going to do anything to put the ball in harm’s way up until that point.” Allen’s percentage of throws at or behind the line has doubled from 2021 when he was at 15 percent through two games. That was the year he and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes combined for one of the most explosive playoff games in history — 707 passing yards and 78 points. It’s the game that may have broken the league. Almost immediately, defenses returned to two high safety looks the following season. It has successfully slowed not just scoring, but ball movement as well.
  9. They've been 1a and 1b for almost 5 years now, with Mahomes maintaining a slight edge. But Josh Allen has passed Patrick Mahomes and is currently the best QB on planet Earth. That is all.
  10. This needs to be mentioned and not buried in the "ESPN Player Survey" topic. The Athletic, in its newsletter "The Pulse" polled its readers with the question: Which QB would you rather have quarterbacking your team, Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson? Unfortunately The Athletic is a paid subscription so I can't link it... and moreover there is not yet an article accompanying the poll, just the email newsletter "The Pulse." Finally no figures are given as to the number of respondents, only the percentages. The results... Allen 63.8% Jackson 36.2% From the email newsletter "The Pulse": "Just, wow This was, frankly, unexpected. Pulse readers overwhelmingly would take Josh Allen over Lamar Jackson, a stunning blowout that leaves me with more questions than before. I almost wish we had included a box to explain reasoning. Two points to make: Jackson and Allen are truly the ideal comparison partners. Both entered the league in 2018, are dynamic dual-threat QBs and have generally played on winning teams. Both have made it as far as the AFC title game, but the progress stops there. Allen leads in total yards (26,314 vs. 21,145) and, per our point yesterday, has been a little more durable. He’s played in 94 games to Jackson’s 86. And yet, Jackson has two MVPs. Allen has zero. I just don’t see how Allen is such a bigger favorite, but I digress. Las Vegas agrees with you all, too: Allen (+850) has the second-highest MVP odds this year per BetMGM, while Jackson (+2000) is down at No. 10. Woof." Chris Branch On a related note, The Athletic's Mike Sando did his annual Quarterback Tiers. Again this is behind a paywall. "The 2024 QB Tiers results are here, complete with commentary from the 50 NFL coaches and executives who were granted anonymity to share candid evaluations. The panel consisted of seven general managers, eight head coaches, 12 coordinators, 12 executives, eight assistant coaches and three involved in coaching/analytics. Each voter placed 30 veteran quarterbacks into five tiers, from best (Tier 1) to worst (Tier 5). Quarterbacks were then ranked by average vote and placed into tiers based on vote distribution, beginning with Mahomes, whose 1.00 average vote reflected his status as the only unanimous Tier 1 selection. No QBs landed in Tier 5, although some received Tier 5 votes. The survey excludes rookies because voters have not seen them play in the NFL." Tier 1 (Quarterback can carry his team each week. The team wins because of him. He expertly handles pure-passing situations. He has no real holes in his game). Patrick Mahomes Joe Burrow Josh Allen Tier 2 (Quarterback can carry his team sometimes but not as consistently. He can handle pure-passing situations in doses and/or possesses other dimensions that are special enough to elevate him above Tier 3. He has a hole or two in his game). Lamar Jackson Matthew Stafford Justin Herbert Aaron Rodgers CJ Stroud Dak Prescott Jared Goff Jalen Hurts Brock Purdy Kirk Cousins Jordan Love
  11. Josh is a guest right now talking about how him and Joe Brady have real conversations about concepts and play calling sounds like they’ve got a good relationship. Talking about his offseason workout and wanting to get back to his 2020 season feels like that’s when he was most locked in and works with some dude on his mechanics. He seems to really gush about Coleman and his short area quickness being underrated. Says Hollins is the leader and the special teams guy. MVS is the vertical speed obviously. Love his keep it simple win the next game mentality. Said it took a little time to get the feel with Connor at center but the communication is fantastic now. He likes the o line group. His comments about the special teams makes me think smiley hasn’t planned a damn thing lol. We’ll just copy what other teams figure out I guess is what it boiled down to imo. Not the most faith in our kickers either but maybe I’m reading too much into that. I love the back and forth on him running a lot but not as much as he’s had to because of our running game now. Josh isn’t promising he won’t run he’s great stating you probably shouldn’t play certain coverages against mobile QBs, ie me lol good interview and the former GMs on this show love them some Josh Allen. Just gushing over him after the interview and how durable he is “a warhorse”
  12. This is a great photo of Josh at the bottom of a huge pile of lineman with a grin on his face like a 9 year old kid playing Pop Warner. This is the Josh Allen Experience
  13. Emmanuel Acho (MVP Voter) & Lesean Mccoy try to make the argument that Tua & Josh are on the same plane of existence in terms of talent, ability and achievement. Acho also mentioned he likes Tua more than Josh. MVP doesn't mean anything anymore.
  14. Josh is entering his 7th season, so he has not even played a game yet in his 7th season… Yet, he already ranks 4th all time in TDs through 7 seasons and only needs 11 TDs this season to break the record of most TDs all time in their first 7 seasons. LFG! GoBills!
  15. JT O'Sullivan breakdowns some of Allen's throws against the phins.
  16. https://www.spotrac.com/news/_/id/2418/josh-allen-is-underpaid-now-what Spotrac takes a look at Allen’s current contract and gives some predictions about what might be done with it. TL:DR - Allen is underpaid by NFL QB standards for where he ranks among them. But he still has 4 years left on his deal so it probably won’t be torn up. Most likely scenario is that the Bills adjust his current deal to bring some cash forward.
  17. Now we won't get them confused
  18. I am surprised I had not heard about this from a few days ago and I don't see it on the main page, so not sure if its been shared here. To call him not only overrated, but one of the MORE overrated players in the NFL goes beyond stupid. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2024/7/15/24199160/nfl-exec-considers-bills-qb-josh-allen-overrated-despite-espn-top-3-rank “One of the more overrated players in the NFL,” a veteran NFL executive said. “Immense talent but he makes a lot of mistakes. He’s underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic.” You want to have some critiques...fair, all players have things they can improve. But the overrated nonsense is comically stupid...which is why they were too much of a wuss to put their name on it. I love it though...just more fuel for the beast Josh Allen! Almost everyone in sports media came to his defense (except Nick Wright who I wont even bother to post here). Here are just a few of those clips where they talked about what an absurd statement this is:
  19. I didn’t see this posted anywhere but looks like the guy I’ve always compared Josh to has admitted that his loss was Buffalos gain. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10130089-john-elway-not-drafting-josh-allen-was-probably-biggest-mistake-as-broncos-gm.amp.html
  20. I am very happy that JA has started the season putting up ho hum numbers - almost drought era QB like. It’s good for everyone on the Bills to know that JA does not have to wear a cape on every play.. Imagine (not likely but imagine) this pace keeps up for the season: 264 of 357 for 3,896 yards - might be a sad season statistically, but ….. if the W’s keep coming, so what?
  21. Joe Marino explores the question in yesterday's episode: Cliffs notes version: arguably he probably is, but definitely in the next year or 2. Some other good Josh Allen nuggets in the 2nd half of the episode
  22. Struggle: I Think Josh will struggle with adjusting to the new receivers on the team (Coleman and Samuel) mainly his prime receivers??? Shine: I think Allen will shine in his ability to extend plays with his arm getting receivers in better positions downfield and using his legs if necessary
