  1. So it’s comments like these that always make the players the bad guys. Just because he’s not hurting for money or because his girlfriend makes a lot of money does not mean he shouldn’t get paid what he is worth. Do we all hope he will take a discount, of course but that doesn’t mean he should. It’s not Allen’s job (or any player for that matter) to make sure everything works under the cap. It’s his job to be the best QB he can be and then get compensated fairly in accordance to his peers. If Josh wants $70 million a year no one should hold that against him. The GMs and front office people are also paid a lot of money to make these things work, so let them earn their money as well. I swear being an NFL owner is the best gig in the world. You get to make billions of dollars and when a player wants to make more money somehow they are the bad guy, not you
  2. Numerous players have said that they hate TNF. Micah Hyde said "I don't even start feeling good until Thursday". Josh on Green Light said with Toradol, "you don't feel anything during the game, you don't feel anything Monday.... but Tuesday and Wednesday...." Then there's the coaching prep aspect If the NFLPA actually had teeth and balls, they would push to eliminate TNF games
  3. Bruce Nolan does a really nice job of explaining EPA vs Adjusted EPA on his podcast today. IMO, Nolan has one of the best Bills related podcasts for the fan that is distinctly different than Cover 1, Marino, etc. He’s a smart dude that hits on some esoteric topics instead of just X’s and O’s Essentially, Adjusted EPA takes away from the QB’s EPA when the YAC is a lot more than expected. So if Josh throws a 5 yard slant, and the expected YAC after that slant is say 7 more yards, but Shakir takes it to the house with 40 yard of YAC, Josh doesn’t get credited for that extra 40 yards. It’s attempting to adjust the QBs EPA to his involvement in the play as opposed to inflating his EPA because he made an “easy” throw and the receiver ran for a ton of YAC
  4. This game stinks. The Giants are boring. The Cowboys are boring. Josh Allen has ruined other NFL games for me. Time for Murder She Wrote re-runs.
  5. Daniel Jones rolling to his right is not Josh Allen rolling to his right. That SB was a long time ago and I like Daboll.
  6. He calls too many designed QB runs. Daniel Jones is no Josh Allen.
  7. Josh is taking home $60MM in cash this year, some ridiculous roster bonuses starting in 2026. He's not hurting.
  8. Josh has golf balls with his face on it and he can afford to lose them.
  9. hiding in plain sight love that Mr Romes what is it ? 27 for 27 receptions vs pass attempts ? good lord thats a wonnerful wonnerful thing Good lord 716 ! dont mess with this Allen to Shakir thing , please oh please just live in the moment wouldja ?
  10. If there was ever a QB that would take a “team friendly deal” (like Brady) it would be Josh. Not getting my hopes up, though.
  11. You have this hang up with yardage totals while totally missing the point of this offense isn't going to allow any one person to put up a lot of yards. Week 1 - Josh completed 18 passes to 9 different receivers. He only had 2 attempts with just over 2 minutes left in the first half and the Bills went on to score 31 points in 31 minutes. Week 2 - James Cooked and Josh threw for under 150 yards and basically we took the entire 2nd half off. Week 3 - Josh competed passes to 10...thats ten...different receivers that resulted in 5 consecutive TD drives to start the game before the offense again just took the 2nd half off. But...you keep wanting to go back to individual yardage totals to say the group hasn't been good or impressive. Honestly don't think there could be a more inaccurate way to evaluate or grade the receivers performances the first 3 weeks than “total yards”.
  12. This poll in two years will be interesting for Bills fans, as the team evolves to its second core during Josh’s time. The first core was fun and solid, consistently among the NFL’s best teams. I don’t understand anyone who hasn’t enjoyed this run. Now, we are moving on to core #2 (probably of 3, maybe 4 with Josh) We’re seeing very good, consistent drafting and signs of good player development. Three games into the season is way too early to declare success. But, it is not too early to get optimistic, even excited. If our new core’s performance matches the past four years of success (gulp, and maybe win a Super Bowl?!), our front office will be viewed as top three and deservedly so.
  13. 20 seconds left in the game and Bills down by four. Bills on 4th and goal at the 12 yard line of the Ravens. Allen passes the ball to Cook in the end zone and drops on what could have been a game winning TD. Bills lose 28-24
  14. Why do so many of you worry about what anyone outside of Buffalo thinks about our team? There’s so much bellyaching about what the narrative will be if we win or lose. Who cares what the national narrative is? No one knows our team like we do. They’ve gotten narratives wrong for years. All we need is another W no matter how we get it. Josh has said straight up the only trophy he cares about is the Lombardi and that’s music to my ears. MVP is meaningless as evidence by Lamar getting it last year. Maybe Baltimore should worry about getting out played physically by us instead of so many of you guys worrying about the “dominant” Ravens rush offense. We’ve been bullying teams for 3 straight games. McD has already demonstrated he has the scheme to limit Lamar. All we have to do is execute. Henry is on the downside of his career. Don’t get me wrong, I like him and I respect him as a runner but he’s not the threat he used to be. Our D-line vs their O-line should be our advantage and we’ve got penetrators, which is exactly the type of D-line that slow Henry down. Henry isn’t running wide and if he does, we will stuff him with our DBs coming up. It’s between the tackles he does his damage so penetrate the backfield, timely run blitzes, and gang tackle if he gets through. As for Lamar, that’s pretty simple. McD contains the rush on him like we did Murray and he’ll try and play middle field closed. Lamar is going to make plays but if you force him to throw outside instead of over the middle he’s much less effective. Yeah we could lose, but if we play our game (physical on both sides of the line, limit TOs and low penalties) it’s a 2 score win. Go Bills!
  15. Maybe, I haven't watched enough of the film specifically to say you're wrong. All I know is he isn't making plays in those situations. He's making plays when he gets a free release and the ball is delivered to him with space to work with. I absolutely love his skill set and think he's a perfect complementary piece. I just don't agree with Matt Harmon that he's the "perfect WR for the modern NFL." The perfect WR is Justin Jefferson who's currently taking 20% of his snaps out of the slot and single handedly giving Sam Darnold's career a shot in the arm. Shakir would be a great piece on any offense but he is never going to be a focal point that you can run the offense though IMO. I will say that Shakir is the perfect slot WR for this current Bills offense. Most of Josh's career he had to make every yard happen on his own. Being able to throw a shallow drag route at the opponent's 25 yard line that ultimately becomes a TD is incredibly valuable and I don't take it for granted.
  16. I've never seen this chart before and want to make sure I'm reading this right... Josh's EPA was adjusted downwards because his receivers aren't dropping balls but are getting Yards After the Catch? This seems weird to me because one of the reasons they're not dropping balls is because he's throwing eminently catchable passes. And YAC is happening partly because he's hitting guys in stride. Just think of Monday night. A couple of the TDs wouldn't have been TDs if Josh had made the receiver slow down for the ball. I think they're trying not to give the QB credit for the good work of his receivers. But he deserves some of that credit. I also think it's weird that DPI is a modifier. I probably like "Actual EPA" more than "Adjusted EPA."
  17. Allen, thanks. Yes, we live in elevation C which is the higher one as well as my three children as all are full time employees and also in college. I mentioned to some friends that Charlie was the only one that scared the heck out of me in 04. That was a cat 5+ and tightly bound. The fallout was a. Night mare south of Sarasota, specifically Port Charlotte. I was a new rep for Medtronic and went there two weeks and couldn’t even get through the city as so much was destroyed. If it didn’t turn south, it would have been a Katrina event and South Tampa would’ve been under water for years. Allen, you’re always kind, so for that I appreciate it. I’m doing what probably 80% of Tampans are doing. Binging Netflix. With each game on topic, I fall in love with Shakir more with each week, and so does Josh.
  18. Buff - 30 Balt - 24 Allen and Cook TDs on the ground, Shakir and Samuel through the air. Then again will the shield allow Lamar go to 1-3 and overrated Josh to go 4-0 ?
  19. Feels a lot more sustainable this year for some reason. I think it’s because we are winning with the lines and relying less on Allen making chicken salad out of chicken sh**.
  20. What makes the offense good is the ability to adjust. If the defense is taking away deep passes, they can nickel and dime you, and they actually have running backs who can be dangerous checking the ball down to. If the defense drops into zone to defend passing lanes, the Bills have the offensive line and running backs to gash them in the run game. And then Josh Allen can still make things happen when everything breaks down. The one question is if the Bills have the receivers who can get deep and stretch the defense vertically effectively and consistently. We haven't really needed to do that much, yet. But, if there is one thing to sacrifice, this is probably it because chucking it deep is lower percentage anyway. Hopefully Keon Coleman and MVS can be effective at that, though.
  21. The Ravens defensive coordinator was their LBs coach from last year. They also lost 2 starting LBs from last year. They gave up 95 and 98 yards to TEs in 2 games this year. The middle of their defense is a problem for them and the Bills have 2 good TEs and multiple slot WRs. I keep envisioning the presnap motion the Bills employ and seeing these young LBs struggling to figure out where the ball is going. This could very well be another big day for Josh and the offense. The Ravens have been very good at rallying to the ball to stop the run but I see the Bills putting 6 OLmen on the field and threatening to run but instead passing to the TEs and RBs. Brady has all ready done this and we could see them doing it often against this team. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall while watching Brady draw up a game plan. Going to be a good game.
  22. I'm not sold on the coaching staff perfection in the post season. During the long regular season, yes and I have posted my belief that credit to MerDermott's tight run ship for early season successes. In post season, I think everything you do is open book, teams pretty much know what you can and cannot do. It comes down to execution - let's face it all playoff teams are pretty good in that department, injuries - that's luck, and difference makers - I'm talking about HOF level plays that Cover 1 people termed "above the scheme". The Bills had no luck last couple of years, but they certainly lacked number of people who can play "above the scheme." The Chiefs consistently had Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, and Hill while he was there do that in the playoff, plus a few guys a game here and a game there. In the playoffs, the Bills got consistent performance from Allen, a game from Davis, that's about it. I believe the Bills brass recognized that and brought in Von, but he's hurt the last 2 years and contributed nada. So far this young season, we see some great signs: Allen looked to be taking another step. Von is trending back to his old form. A few young players offers some great promise (I might call Shakir is playing above the scheme right now). We need some luck on injury of course; I'm not relying on Milano being back, not even Johnson/Bernard back to form, just no more serious injury going forward. Keep an eye on Von. To the outsiders, I think people are afraid of Von being a true force coming to the playoff time for us, just like we are all afraid what Rogers might do for the Jets in the playoff time. Von has consistently played above the scheme in his career, and the Bills are sorely missing such a guy on defense in the past.
  23. Exactly. An "efficiency stat" can be viewed in all kinds of ways. Shakir hasn't missed a target. That's pretty efficient. Last year Shakir had a Receiving Success Rate of 73.3% which was very good. So far this year it's 78.6%. Josh needs to keep spreading the ball around but it's clear that Shakir is tops in his choices of spreads.
  24. For everyone saying that our defense hasn’t faced good QBs yet and their defense has… this chart is interesting. We’ve faced #4, #15 and #25 (Average of 15) and Lamar ranks #10 (facing 20, 27 and 28th Ranked D). They’ve faced #13, #17 and #21 (Average of 17) and Josh ranks #2 (facing 23, 29 and 30th Ranked D). I think their defense is going to have a harder time than ours is…
