  1. I think it's safe to say that is going to be a big game for a number of reasons. Bills are still looking to show they are one the beasts of the AFC, Texans are trying to prove they are for real, etc, etc. And this game could play a role in playoff seeding as well as both teams heading into the season as the betting favorites to win their divisions. Both teams have lots of new faces and 5 weeks into the season you would think those new players are or should be settling into their new teams and roles. But the big storyline is clearly going to be Allen and Diggs. And while they don't face each other on the field, you know they are both going to want to show they don't need the other and that their current teams made the best decision (Allen with Bills moving on vs Diggs with Texans acquiring him). So, who do you think comes out having the better individual game, Allen or Diggs? And bonus question: Who wins the game since having the better game doesn't always mean their team won?
  2. Allen is now, I believe, the 11th highest paid QB in the NFL and behind the likes of Kirk Cousins, Lawrence and Jalen Hurts. He is $12 million below market. Great job by Beane stepping up when he did. That $12 million nets us at least two starters. Interested in thoughts on when we should we extend Allen. Seems there is no time like the present!
  3. I know, I know... it's hard to believe because some have told us that Josh doesn't work hard in the offseason anymore. Contrary to the belief of some on this board, I guess Josh DOES do SOME work in the offseason. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/josh-allen-worked-to-make-throwing-motion-as-efficient-as-possible-this-offseason Edit: didn't see this posted last night... RIP to me
  4. https://twitter.com/ChrisBrownBills/status/1800593281019228240 I saw him golf and I bet he had some chips EDIT From warrior's post: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/josh-allen-worked-to-make-throwing-motion-as-efficient-as-possible-this-offseason
  5. Discuss. Personally, I think he should preserve his body a bit and Share the Love
  6. I saw this article from noted Josh Allen defender (though not a Bills fan, per se) Jarrett Bailey. Thought it was fun enough to share, and what the hell, it's the slow part of the offseason, so...enjoy! https://atozsports.com/buffalo/buffalo-bills-josh-allen-turnovers/ The laziest argument in sports today is the one that Josh Allen naysayers make when they say "but... but... the turnovers." Yes, the Buffalo Bills' alien cyborg was second in the NFL in interceptions in 2023. However, when you look at interception percentage, he wasn't throwing much more interceptions per attempt than many other quarterbacks who many media members drool over because of their underneath passing efficiency. Allen threw an interception roughly every 32 attempts in 2023. For comparison, Tua Tagovailoa threw an interception every 40 attempts and was fourth in the NFL in picks. Brock Purdy hovered around the same number of interceptions per attempt. But, since most fans of opposing teams just like to point at turnover numbers, I'll give them a few more numbers to point at since they'll be too busy eating boogers to do the research for themselves. Since 2020 (including playoffs), Josh Allen has three seasons in the top 20 of all quarterbacks in that span in terms of touchdown passes. Patrick Mahomes is the only other quarterback with three seasons in the top 20. How about yards since 2020? Allen also has three seasons in the top 20 of passing yards since 2020. Only Mahomes has more with four. Allen's 137 touchdown passes are the second most in that span only to Mahomes. His 36 rushing touchdowns are second amongst quarterbacks with only Jalen Hurts having more. And his 174 total touchdowns in the last four seasons are the most in the NFL. What about game-changing plays? Well, if you look at PFF's big time throws, Allen led the NFL in that category in both 2023 and 2022. He finished second in 2021 and fifth in 2020- he is the only quarterback in the NFL to finish in the top five in big time throws in each of the last four seasons. Even when Allen is under pressure, he's still amazing. He has two seasons that are in the top 10 in terms of passing yards per game under pressure- Justin Herbert is the only other quarterback with two such seasons. He also has two of the 10 best seasons in terms of touchdown percentage against pressure. The only other quarterback who can say that is Russell Wilson. And while throwing past the sticks against pressure, he has two of the three best seasons in the last four years of any quarterback with at least 100 attempts against pressure. So the next time someone says something about Josh Allen and his turnovers, show them these numbers. Because it's evident they don't dig any deeper to see that there has been precisely zero quarterbacks doing what he's been doing over the last half-decade. And every argument against him is the same argument because there is nothing else Allen haters can point to. It's lazy. So. Damn. Lazy. Is Allen perfect? No. But he's a hell of a lot closer to it than just about every other quarterback in recent memory. And odds are if you are reading this and you aren't a Bills fan, your favorite team's general manager would trade their first born child if it meant having Allen as his quarterback.
  7. Stumbled across this on YouTube, this guy has under 2k followers but looked at comments and had to check it out. It's depressing as well but they did a great job documenting Buf since 2017 and Mahomes as Allens white whale, even though he arguably outplayed him. Salute to KC though, many more wars to come. But if you have 50 minutes to kill, this is dope What a wild few years, we'll get ours. Love yall
  8. Just wanted to leave this here for posterity. Dude has spent half a decade criticizing him, but has slowly & quietly ranked him higher & higher every year. Not that it matters, I just want to leave this as proof he's accepted defeat in this matter. Funnily enough, it's Ravens fans now mad at him. He left Lamar out of his top 5 (and has Stafford ahead of him too) 🤣
  9. Maybe the greatest olineman to ever play the game.
  10. I have to chuckle at Austin Rivers cause I think Josh’s odds of coming off the bench in the nba are better then someone from the nba throwing 60 yard ropes as bills qb
  11. Can't believe that it hasn't been posted yet..... but today is QB1s birthday.
  12. Welcome to the first ever "Question of the day" thread proposed by @BuffaloBill! It's an honor to kick this off for TSW and thought there was no better place to start than a question about our best and most important player, Josh Allen. There has been a lot of discussion this offseason about the WR position, but there are more changes around Josh and this offense than just who the receivers are (or aren't). Josh will also have a new center for the first time in a long time, and there is a chance it could be a rookie in SVPG and Joe Brady is going to now truly install his own offense here rather than manage it around Dorseys when he took over last year. So now that we have a pretty good idea on personnel between draft and signings, do you think Allen will be better, worse, or about the same as he has been the past 2 seasons?
  13. In my opinion, there are two primary factors separating the drought era Bills teams from the Allen era Bills teams. The first and foremost is having Josh Allen as QB. The second factor which may be equally as important is having the financial resources to compete in free agency. Among the drought era coaches I think I liked Chan Gaily the best. I credit him with being the inventor of the Fitzmagic. It would have been interesting if he and Allen had aligned in time. I am not sure if any of the other drought era coaches would have been anymore interesting than the Allen era coaching staffs have been. How would others like to rewrite history?
  14. You know the event is for fun and for a great charity, but Josh Allen, again displayed what a talented athlete he is. While most of his competitors struggled to hit 2 or 3 homers, Josh belted a total of 15 homers in the 2 rounds of competition. He is amazing.
  15. I just saw a story on WKBW Buffalo where our Josh sends a Signed jersey to a Texas family who's teen son died suddenly. The boy was a huge Josh fan. I hope everybody gets to read it. This is just another example the young man, (our guy) continuing to show genuine human decency and caring. We couldn't have a better "face of the franchise" Or ambassador for Buffalo and WNY. ..... Go Bills!!!
  16. First off I want to say I respect Beane’s game. He always finds a way to fill holes and gives McD as much depth as possible every year to keep the team competitive. He did a great job putting make up on an ugly pig of a WR group after the draft. BUT what if we went all in on surrounding Josh with as much young cheap talent as possible. What if Beane didn’t play it safe year in and year out with high character dependable players and went with some potential home run hitters. Humor me and lets play this out, let’s reverse time back to this epic 2024 WR draft. AD Mitchell and Troy Franklin may have had some character flaws that dropped them a bit in the draft but their talent is undeniable. In a year where even before we lost Davis and Diggs we needed another young WR, let’s pretend that we did something unconventional and actually took 3 WR in the first 3 rounds! 🤯 Now how would this play out? Pick 33 is still Coleman and we got some draft capital pick 51 or higher (trade a 5th this year and a 3rd next year) AD Mitchell Pick 95 Troy Franklin The rest of the draft stays the same BUT wait we don’t have Bishop at safety or Carter at DT whatever will we do!?! Hmmm maybe this year we let McD get a couple FAs to plug and play. Maybe we don’t go dumpster diving for leftover WRs and instead grab a couple veteran defensive players instead. Why not sign Justin Simmons and Calais Campbell and then next year when it’s a better defensive draft you can address the DT spot Josh now has Coleman, AD Mitchell, Troy Franklin, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel…oh and McD can have his special teams WR with the last spot too in Hollins, Shavers or Shorter. You know you’d love that WR corps and so would Josh for the next 4+ years Again, Beane did a great job making the best out of a bad situation with his WR room but man what could’ve been if he just leaned into helping his franchise QB out long term instead of short term bandaids.
  17. NFL put this up yesterday. I once watched a JP Losman career highlight video and it was over before my coffee was half drunk, so let's take a moment to appreciate the fact that we have this cannon-armed lunatic playing QB for our team
  18. Only QB higher is Joe Burrow. "Gotta Have It" drives are drives where they are trailing with under 5 minutes to go in the 2nd half. Lamar Jackson was 3rd, which means this HAS to be a regular season stat, Brady was 4th and Mahomes was 5th. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/lamar-jackson-better-clutch-than-patrick-mahomes-tom-brady-past-five-seasons-analytics
  19. Keon Coleman: Josh Allen texted me “You’re the guy I want”
  20. I keep reading on here that Allen has not restrucuted but there are multiple reports he restructured his contract back in March opening up $16.7M in cap. For those that follow cap numbers closely, has his restructure already been done and applied to the cap? I know White's saving will be coming in a few weeks.
