UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?
LeviF replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
War with Iran and slacking on mass deportations are the two things that would sour every Trump voter almost instantly. Hopefully Iran can just glass Israel and we never have to hear about it again. -
UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?
LeviF replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This will be such an unforced error by the Trump admin. All they had to do was ignore the middle east, tell Netandyoohoo to ***** himself, and deport 50 million people. Trying not to doompoast but it's getting hard not to. It's the gaslighting from our "greatest ally" (who has never committed boots on the ground to any of our wars) every time. Not sure what it is about boomers that makes them so susceptible to this propaganda in particular. -
James Comey to be investigated for posting “8647”
LeviF replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Hate to break it to Krassenstein (interesting name btw) and other plotters/soft coup-enjoyers but I suspect Vance as Chief Executive would be a much bigger nightmare for leftists in reality, whilst Trump appears to only be a leftist's nightmare in whatever fantasy they happen to be spinning on any given day. -
Haven't read much of this thread so forgive me if it's been stated already, but this seems to be a clear window into how the 47 admin runs. Musk has his heart in the right place, but Stephen Miller has been chosen to drive this train because Trump values his demonstrated loyalty throughout the last decade over whatever exposure and money Elon provided in the last 11 months or so. Musk's inability to read a room combined with his (justified) head-banging frustration with Congress resulted in the tantrum we're seeing.

Trump’s glorious Golden Age of America is here
LeviF replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Always amusing to watch people who ostensibly hate CEOs and BigFi and corporations come and cry about their stonks going down. Thanks, guys. That said, every Reagan Republican better be on their knees praying that Trump actually tanks what's left of the real economy, otherwise their economic policy preferences are dead letter forever. "Line go up" idol is gonna come crashing down hard. -
US added to civil rights watch list
LeviF replied to 4th&long's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
1. someone named "Mandeep" doesn't get to say anything about America 2. Woke more correct than the mainstream moment here re: McCarthy. Bolshevism is indeed the de facto law of the land. McCarthy and (in theory) Trump are two of the very few mainstream politicians in the last 70 years to align themselves against it. -
The J6 Hostages Freedom Thread: Justice Is Coming
LeviF replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Leftists just got done mourning the death of Jimmy Carter and how great he was and now want to whinge about Trump pardoning "terrorists." lol lmao -
Elon needs to turn to his homeland; encourage Trump to impose brutal sanctions on the South African government and threaten military intervention to protect the minority population there. https://www.news24.com/news24/politics/ramaphosa-signs-contentious-expropriation-bill-into-law-20250123

The J6 Hostages Freedom Thread: Justice Is Coming
LeviF replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's about Trump's trial so there's a decent amount of sarcasm thrown in there, but still contains a completely unexamined (and untrue) prior that helps undergird a couple of those "movements" you just mentioned. Does that mean you're a full-throated supporter? No, not necessarily. You're a stranger on the internet and we all know very little about each other in real life. But uncritically swallowing the idea that blacks were wrongfully convicted by "kkk DAs" en masse demonstrates at least some ignorance-bred sympathy for their positions. -
Democrat Self Reflection Post Landslide? Zero point zero.
LeviF replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I was listening to one of the post-mortem interviews and a couple of the former Kamala staffers indicated that they knew that they needed to move to center on several issues, particularly social ones, but thought it wouldn't be credible given how far left her actual policy commitments had been. In particular, they spent hours attempting to strategize a way to respond to the "they/them" ad but ultimately couldn't come up with anything that stuck. Also while the media was saying how terrible team Trump's strategy to get out the vote was apparently the Kamala campaign staffers were completely clueless as to how to slow it down. -
Didn’t watch the video but if he believes this is all a political stunt then when does he think it’ll stop? Motion hearings? Jury selection? Closing arguments? Trump got spanked by his enemies in 2020 because he underestimated them for years. Unfortunately it seems he’s learned zero lessons from it.

DeSantis For President in 2024?
LeviF replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A valid concern, leaving aside the question of whether representative government as the US has conducted it historically is actually a good form of government. When is the last time you felt like you actually had representation in government? The Dems are what they are and the GOPe is simply Dems driving the speed limit. Case in point: the GOP currently has the House and voter ID is an issue important to most conservatives. Since voter ID falls under “manner” of elections which is in Congress’s constitutionally-bestowed powers, a national voter ID requirement is within their power to prescribe. And yet we don’t even have a national voter ID proposal from the speaker. What gives? Well the USA is functionally a one party state, and the absolutely rabid responses from both parties to Trump’s rise really exposed this fact. Add this to the fact that the bulk of policy is actually made by unelected bureaucrats that answer to nobody and we get zero representation for anybody who has something resembling conservative values. The reasons for this are many but for the most part it boils down to the fact that the left has opened the floodgates to hordes of foreigners who are guaranteed to vote for more leftists, thus disenfranchising and eliminating the representation of the native population. The USA, prior to 1965, was not a nation of immigrants. Now it certainly is, and the permanent neoliberal and leftist nonsense that is installed in DC is the fruit of that. The more different the population becomes, the more authoritarian the state must be, and leftists have guaranteed through unlimited immigration that this population will continue to grow apart in blood, values, and customs. The question then left to the few real conservatives with actual power is how to utilize the power to benefit those who share your values. And it’s not voting harder. -
Which way do you lean politically?
LeviF replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Struggling? No, Billsy, you got me all wrong. It’s good that we ban baby murder, ban smut, ban garbage philosophy in history books, ban s*domy and ban transing kids. It’s like I told you before, communists like all those things and want them to happen. Fascists ban them. You guys really don’t get it. Reactionary policies require something to react to. Fascism is always a reaction to communism. If the Republican Party wasn’t such a bunch of ***** losers, you would never have gotten DeSantis or Trump. -
Trump town hall on cnn
LeviF replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm not really interested in watching Trump dunk on a midget again. CNN will never push Trump on the things that I have severe criticisms over (Warp Speed, lockdowns, Kardashian admin, police "reform" etc.) because those are all things that the regime, and by extension CNN, gladly placed in front of him or went along with. So I watched none of this as it's a waste of time. -
Yet year after year, these "right wing extremists" manage to have incredibly low kill counts. That first year in office for Trump resulted in a known homicide offender share of 47% for whites. And this figure includes many with hispanic ethnicity. Guess we're outsourcing right wing extremism too.
-
The projection behind this theory is incredible. Dems have had nearly four years to come to terms with losing a very winnable election and still won't shut up about it. But Trump's the one that won't accept election results.
-
Is Trump a paid spokesman for Goya? Otherwise that wouldn't be including in things that are relevant to the conversation. And I don't know the answer off the top of my head. Edit: the answer is yes, the president can be. You may think it tacky or unethical but it is not illegal. The President and Vice President are exempt from conflict of interest laws in general. Congress ensured this. The relevant code is 5 CFR Part 2635. The president and vice president are exempt from every section except B and C of this code.

Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
LeviF replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This pretty well encapsulates the issue with Dems right now: poor campaigning. These people didn't tank Bernie's campaign out of spite, they tanked it because they're entirely out of touch, fake, and gay. Here's a decent example: McDonald's. Trump unironically eats and enjoys McDonald's and other foods associated with poors and working class schmoes. Naturally, his trips to and orders from McDonald's were lampooned by the media because "haha stupid orange man." Now, on advice of his campaign team, Biden is pretending to like foods associated with poors and working class schmoes. Everything Democrats do is reactive and inorganic: fake like the women and gay men that run their campaigns. -
I'm as down on Trump as anyone (well ok, not ANYONE) right now but at least he has some history of doing the right thing and appointing some good people. The country's divide isn't his fault, he's just the result of a deep divide that has existed since the 1950s, possibly earlier. If I lived in a swing state I'd register and vote for him because a Biden presidency results in some outcomes I don't particularly care for. And for the record: no, your rant was not readable.
-
I can't trust the Republicans to even do that right. Look at the current teacher situation: the government school teacher unions are screaming to the heavens that we should be educating our own children at home in an attempt to make Trump look bad. It's the right's biggest opportunity for a cultural win in generations and they're blowing it.
-
For all our sake, I hope you're right. But I think everyone predicting an electoral landslide for Trump this November because of the "silent majority" has their heads firmly buried in the sand, especially after Trump has betrayed the very principles that got him elected by those folks to begin with.
-
I don't vote, and if I did I wouldn't vote for traitors. That said, the fact that Republicans are so snowblind they can't see what's right in front of them is why they're going to lose the White House this November. What exactly do you think is "winning" about this strategy? Do you think "never Hillary" voters give a ***** about whether Joe is a racist or not? Or black people, for that matter? Is pushing for a 2% increase in black Trump voters really the way to win this election? Let's be honest about it: Joe is right, black folks vote as a solid block. Black folks are why Prop 8 got passed in California and 90+% of them reliably vote blue every four years. Trying to win over a few of them is NOT how Trump can retain the WH in 2020. It just isn't. The only thing about this election that's more feeble than Joe Biden is the RNC's strategy to keep him out of Washington.
