  1. And you are right too...but he is not lazy and he is not a horrible player. For god's sake...our offensive line, qb's, rb's EVERYBODY played better with him here, than this year. You are all just in denial because we will never replace him.
  2. You are right. I am so sorry. I forgot that YOU know and can evaluate NFL talent better than the coaches, players, scouts and gm's themselves! You dumb !@#$. He is an amazing athlete and we played better and had better records WITH HIM ON OUR TEAM! And I wouldn't say Jason Peters is fat and your argument is retarded...because, remind me what we paid Dockery and Walker, who are not even close to being the player that Jason Peters is! You are an idiot! EVERY PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE has off-days/games...now document your stupidity after watching and evaluating EVERY SNAP he has taken this year. YOU just base **** off of 1 game?
  3. • Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Texans offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan — "They are both young guys with a lot of pedigree. And it has always been a young man's game." Read the BOLD part... ...I rest my case.
  4. It is kind of like my buddy's situation. Except growing up in the Finger Lakes area, he was a Falcons fan...he moved to Green Bay and is now a packers fan. He also switched to being a Brewers fan in baseball. For college football however, he is a Michigan fan...so I recently asked, "Benny when are you converting to the Badgers?" Needless to say, that did not go over so well with him. Welcome aboard...3irty1!
  5. Is that your only argument...based on 1 game from this season alone? How old are you? Do you follow football? Did you ever play football? Do you EVER do ANY research? You are the type of person who I would give ANYTHING to kick your damn teeth out! Go get Michael Vick...he is going to save our franchise and bring us a Super Bowl!
  6. I whole-heartedly agree...I JUST read that and thought the SAME EXACT THING! He is a fat turd.
  7. Drop it already...bottom line is WE WOULD BE BETTER WITH HIM THAN WITHOUT HIM! Get a !@#$ing clue and drop the Mike Leach for Bills HC bull ****.
  8. A top pick and can't stay healthy? Byrd was not a TOP pick and it is not like he has been hurt all year long for god's sake. That is a rediculous comment. I will give you McCargo, McKelvin (to an extent), Hardy and Poz. Wood just got hurt...so that is stupid, "can't stay healthy?" let me break your leg like that and see if you stay healthy! Edwards and Youboty were NOT TOP picks. Hardy and Poz really were NOT either, but I will say they were for your sake. But adding Byrd and Wood in there is just stupid.
  9. Mostly because he is NOT Rex Ryan's guy...he is a holdover. And let me ask you, ya dumb !@#$...is he the one throwing and/or fumbling the ball? Is it his fault that Clemens was in the guy because Sanchez was an idiot and didnt slide? Come on man...come up with something better than that? Give me some stats? Some facts? I may be a dipshit...but at least I can back up my arguments with facts and stats...and by this post, I feel I have A LOT more knowledge of the game than you do. So, go study little man. You and your 93 posts...I hope your 1st post was not as dull and stupid as your last couple have been! Good riddance. Oh, and the 1st Bills/Jets game...I dont think he was the one who threw 5 INT's you moron.
  10. What DON'T YOU like about Brian Schottenheimer? I like the fact he came from and learned from a pretty darn good coach in his father, and his uncle is also a coach in the NFL on the DEFENSIVE side of the ball. Seemed to work out nice for the Ryan boys, Kyle Shanahan, Wade Phillips...and I wanna say the Harbaughs, but I don't think their Dad was ever a coach. He is a young, up and coming, fiery guy who gets the best from his offensive players and he knows how to set up an executable game plan, and he can playcall a game. I also like the fact that he was the quarterbacks coach in San Diego where he mentored Drew Brees and Philip Rivers. I also like the fact that he has coached at 3 different stops ALL with his Father. Great way to learn. I also like the fact that the Dolphins offered him the job and he opted out of consideration AND the Jets were going to offer him a Head Coaching position, but opted to go in the defensive direction with Rex Ryan...maybe flaming out on a great guy to coach their teams...why not give him a shot? He has credentials and if he turned this team around, how pissed do you think the Fins and Jets would be? It would be oh so sweet for us Bills fans...the ultimate victory. He was also a part of Mike Martz's offensive staff that produced the "Greatest Show on Turf," just 2 years prior to them winning the Super Bowl. His stop in Kansas City was not much, but he did get Gannon ready for Oakland where he would go a year later, and end up playing in a Super Bowl against the Bucs just 2 years after that. I also like the fact that he led Syracuse's offensive that produced a hand full of NFL players (David Tyree, Kevin Sampson, Dee Brown, Quinton Spotwood, James Mungro, Kyle Johnson) in 1999 and also led them to the Music City Bowl victory over Kentucky, ending with a 10-3 record and a #18 spot in the nation, in the AP and Coaches Poll. All this was done while trying to replace SU legends Donovan McNabb, Rob Konrad, Kevin Johnson and Olindo Mare. He replaced McNabb with a no-name in Troy Nunes and he helped Nate Trout set the Syracuse all-time leading scorer record in 1999. He also helped in the recruiting process of Johnnie Morant, Diamond Ferri, Walter Reyes, Matt Tarullo and Adam Terry...all of them either are still in the NFL, or had previous stints with an NFL club. He was an advocate for getting Brett Favre and he was in on the Braylon Edwards trade as well. Here is some more I like about him if this all is not enough for you: - Brian Schottenheimer was retained by Rex Ryan as offensive coordinator after one of the best offensive seasons in franchise history. He was originally named the Jets’ coordinator on Jan. 30, 2006, coming to the team after serving as quarterbacks coach for the San Diego Chargers for four seasons (2002-05). Schottenheimer’s offensive scheme features multiple sets and flexibility as well as a no-huddle component. - After acquiring Brett Favre in 2008 the Jets scored 405 points, only the third time in franchise history that they reached 400 points, and their 42 offensive touchdowns were their most since 1998. The offense ranked 16th in the NFL in total yards and 9th in rushing yards, both rankings the team's highest since 2004. The running game, led by Pro Bowlers Thomas Jones (AFC-leading 1,312 rushing yards, team-record 13 rushing TDs) and Leon Washington (448 yards, 6 rushing TDs), averaged 4.75 ypc, fifth in the league and the best season mark in franchise history. - In 2007 Schottenheimer's offense produced a 1,000-yard rusher in Thomas Jones (1,119) and a 1,000-yard receiver in Jerricho Cotchery (1,130). - In 2006 Chad Pennington completed 65% of his passes for a career-best 3,352 yards while Cotchery (82-961-6) and Laveranues Coles (91-1,098-6) combined for the most catches by any receiver tandem in franchise history. - At San Diego, Schottenheimer was instrumental in the development of QB Drew Brees. Under his tutelage in 2005, Brees completed 64.6% of his passes for a career-best 3,576 yards and tied for fourth in the NFL with 24 TD passes. *NOW...ANSWER MY QUESTION...WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT BRIAN SCHOTTENHEIMER?!? Everybody wants his old, washed up, has-been of a coach Father who cannot produce in the playoffs...I would rather have this kid for many, many years...and watch Lynch and Jackson gain 1,000 yards and make the pro-bowl. I would also like to see what he could do for our QB troubles. If he did that with Pennington, he COULD get that out of Edwards. If he could get that out of JERICHO COTCHERY (who?), he could get that out of Lee Evans and MUCH more. I do my homework on this stuff...please do not insult my knowledge with your smart-ass comments...so, again, WHAT DO YOU NOT LIKE ABOUT BRIAN SCHOTTENHEIMER??? I will be waiting to hear this... wow...you must know absolutely NOTHING AT ALL about football. this is the most retarded thing i have ever read by a poster at TBD...and i have read AND SAID some stupid ****! yup...YOU should be GM alright. maybe of a pop warner league or your high school cheerleading team.
  11. How horrible is that? I mean, seriously, this is the world we live in??? That is sad. Very, very sad. I hope this guy does WONDERS at Kansas...I hope he wins a National Title. http://deadspin.com/5110639/was-turner-gil...-his-white-wife ESPN.com football writer Mark Schlabach told "Outside The Lines" today that two other SEC coaches told him, straight up, that Gill would never get the Auburn job, because he's married to a white woman. Charming. More links to different articles of the story... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3770769 http://bleacherreport.com/articles/93551-d...as-a-white-wife http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news...burncoach121508 http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/therundow...ge_football.php Does not look like the Kansas fans are happy with this report... Check out their comments about Gill, UB and the city of Buffalo... http://boards.kusports.com/showflat.php?Ca...0&fpart=all
  12. I sure hope he gets the job and has much success. I am a big fan of Turner Gill and I hope he continues to build up that Kansas program, to eventually compete for a championship. I really wish Turner Gill well and I will be rooting for him! http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/1613427.html Gill to interview at Kansas University of Buffalo coach Turner Gill is expected to interview today for the open Kansas job vacated by Mark Mangino on Thursday, Tony Barnhardt said on CBS’ pregame show for the SEC championship game. Gill, 47, has a 20-30 record in four years at Buffalo, but that record could be seen as misleading. The Bulls had no football success to speak of until Gill led them to the 2008 Mid-American Conference championship and the school’s first bowl game in 50 years. On paper, Gill would make sense as the choice for KU. He played quarterback at Nebraska from 1980-83 and coached there as an assistant from 1992-2004. He was known as one of the Cornhuskers’ top recruiters, particularly in Texas, where he grew up in Fort Worth. The Jayhawks would appear to need a coach with connections to Texas; KU has 33 players from the Lone Star state compared to 24 from Kansas. Also adding to the convenience factor is that Gill’s daughter, Jordan, is a student at KU. Phone calls to the homes of Gill and Buffalo athletic director Warde Manuel were not answered. Kansas associate athletic director for external relations Jim Marchiony said that KU would not confirm or deny any rumors during the search for the next coach.
  13. Yup that is him! Do some research before you speak next time... He is the same guy who drafted SUPER Mario Williams ahead of Reggie "I've Done Squat" Bush. That worked out WELL! Now for his real work in Washington: 1. How about being the guy who brought together the famed "HOGS" offensive line in Washington? So improving the Texans line is really irrelevant to what he did to bring together that o-line in Washington. Oh yeah, he won 2 Super Bowls with those guys too. Jacoby and Bostic were brought in as Free Agents and shared 5 pro-bowls between the 2 of them, under Casserly. 2. How about being the guy who has produced more than 20 league executives during his time in the NFL? 3. How about being the guy who literally made the movie the "Replacements" when he sent out a team of no-names during the 1987 strike, and they went 3-0 before the strike ended...including a win at Dallas on MNF where the Cowboys played ALL of their star-players against Casserly's "Replacements." 4. How about being the guy who drafted players such as Brian Mitchell in the 5th round, Stephen Davis in the 4th round, Keenan McCardell in the 12th round, Frank Wychek in the 6th round, and in 1999 he snagged Brad Johnson as a free agent who went on to the Pro-Bowl following that season? 5. On draft day in 1999, Casserly acquired all of the New Orleans Saints 1999 selections, plus their first and third-round picks in 2000 by swapping the Redskins' fifth selection in the first round for the Saints' 12th choice. He still managed to obtain the player that Washington wanted, selecting future Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey. In 1999, Sports Illustrated, Pro Football Weekly, The Sporting News and USA Today named Casserly their NFL Executive of the Year at mid-season. Now for his real work in Houston: (Yes, he drafted David Carr and Jabar Gaffney with his first 2 picks in the 2002 EXPANSION DRAFT!) But, how about the guy that from 2003-2006 draft the likes of: Andre Johnson, Jerome Mathis, Demeco Ryans, Mario Williams and Owen Daniels...ALL OF THEM being Pro-Bowlers. Demeco Ryans also won the Defensive Rookie of The Year award in 2006. His biggest fall in Houston, was NOT drafting Mario Williams ahead of Reggie Bush like many said and think. Yes, maybe he should have taken Vince Young, but that had invested A LOT in Matt Schaub. His biggest mistake was trading a 2nd & 3rd round picks to Oakland to land CB Phillip Buchanon, who if you have any football knowledge is not a horrible player. He was actually VERY good in Oakland before he got traded to Houston. So, I would certainly take this list of work and 1 bad trade...than any other suggestions I have seen on here. PLEASE FIND ME ANOTHER GM CANDIDATE THAT HAS THIS TRACK RECORD AND IS AVAILABLE...I DARE YOU! Charlie Casserly would get us whatever it is that is our BIGGEST need THIS YEAR in the NFL draft...you want SUH? That is our biggest need? Charlie would get him! He would also maneuver his way back up the draft to get us a QB AND LT. THEN he would go out in free agency, and given his track record, get some good signings that would perform! LOOK AT THE GUYS TRACK RECORD! He was not even fired! He resigned because of the flack he was getting for choosing Mario Williams over Reggie Bush and Vince Young...and now who do you think is laughing about his job performance? Especially since the Saints are most likely going to cut Reggie Bush this upcoming off-season...and Super Mario (Charlie's boy) continues to shine!
  14. Schottenheimer on Jets hot seat - 07:55 AM ET - 11.29 Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer knows he's on the hot seat. In a week of shakeups for the free-falling Jets, Rex Ryan benched safety Kerry Rhodes and announced he would play a bigger role with the offense and the development of rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez. per New York Daily News I would love to look at him as an Offensive Coordinator. That may be even more the reason for Marty to wanna come back, and help his son beat the New York Jets twice a year!
  15. per yahoo sports... Saints to dump Bush in 2010 - 06:07 AM ET - 12.02 Don't expect New Orleans running back Reggie Bush, who is due to count for approximately $8 million against the cap next season, to stay with the team. One Saints insider said general manager Mickey Loomis isn't interested in carrying Bush's salary, even if there is an uncapped season. Bush's cap number and secondary importance to the team could create conflict in a locker room where several players, such as wide receiver Marques Colston, are expected to cash in soon. Do you think we could use him here, given a new staff...and if we could, would you want him? I have never liked him as a player and I think it would be a waste of money, unless Kim Kardashian's arse comes with him! I would rather get a big bruiser anyways, but it would certainly create just another weapon on this offense. Thoughts?
  16. I understand where you are coming from here, and I am kind of on the fence with this...but it is my gut feeling and what I think needs to be done and COULD be done... Instead of trading premium picks to teams like the Bucs, Browns and/or Lions...we could offer them picks down the road, or to help them out immediately, players who can come in and contribute right away...I suggest: Donte Whitner - Bucs, Lions, Chiefs, Redskins...could ALL use a decent starting FS. He would fit VERY well in Detroit and Tampa Bay. He would immediately start in Kansas City and would compliment Landry in Washington perfectly. Marshawn Lynch - The Bucs have Cadillac, who is VERY injury prone and Derrick Ward who would be a great 1-2 punch with the powerful Lynch. The Lions have Kevin Smith and thats it. Who do the Cheifs even have now after L.J. left? The Redskins have Portis, but he is getting old and is usually hurt EVERY year. Any team in need of a RB would take this guy, no doubt in my mind. The Browns would be a perfect fit for him too. Chris Kelsay/Aaron Schobel - All of the teams ahead of us could use a DE, and packaged with Lynch, Whitner and/or a draft pick, would be a good deal for a team looking to have somebody come in and contribute right away. OTHERS to consider: Kawika Mitchell Marcus Stroud Brad Butler Roscoe Parrish Leodis McKelvin or Terrence McGee The Bucs need a saftey and/or a defensive end. They could trade down with us, pick up Kelsay or Schobel to be their DE and Whitner to be their starting FS, and they could still pick up a OT with the pick we give them. Or if they really want a DT to fit their scheme, we could give them Stroud. Kyle Williams and Suh would look like a formidable duo. The Rams want a QB and could still grab one with the pick we give them, if they gave us their pick and we sent them some players to fill needs. The Lions need a blindside protector for Stafford and could take Okung. That would leave McCoy for the Bucs to take with our pick that we could trade them, because the 3 or 4 teams inbetween us does not need a DT. *This is all off the top of my head without looking anything up or doing research. However, I think big "SUE" could be had by the Bills if they just let loose some of the guys who arent performing and may just need a chance. (Whitner and Lynch being the 2 guys that I think fit the bill). They are NOT bad players AT ALL and could both start on a number of teams. *And for what it is worth...I would LOVE a safety backfield of Taylor Mays and Jairus Byrd. That could be the best safety tandem to come together in a very VERY long time.
  17. If a player like Tim Tebow falls to the 4th round, and the Bills do not pick him up...I will no longer watch football, let alone Buffalo Bills football.
  18. Peterson was only a smidge better than Lynch in their Rookie season...he barely beat out Marshawn for R.O.Y.
  19. But you can CLEARLY see a black glove right below Kawika's elbow...
  20. Anybody notice the extra hand in between Kawika Mitchell and Keith Ellison? Kawika's left arm goes in front of him, Keith's right arm goes behind him...and whoever is behind them, that player's arm is either Go-Go Gadget Arm...or something is wrong there too! http://www.joshfitz.com/images/bills/2009-...ills-zoomed.jpg
  21. I would bet you ANY amount of money that Aaron Curry will be a Pro-Bowler?! He also drafted players such as: Falcons: QB - Matt Schaub WR - Michael Jenkins CB - DeAngelo Hall LB - Demorrio Williams Seahawks: C - Chris Spencer LB - Leroy Hill CB - Kelly Jennings DE - Lawrence Jackson DT - Brandon Mebane LB - Will Herring DE - Daryl Tapp TE - John Carlson OT - Max Unger WR - Deon Butler RB - Justin Forsett FB - Owen Schmitt He has lured such free agents to Seattle: LB Julian Peterson DE Patrick Kerney FS - Deon Grant LOOK AT HIS DRAFT SUCCESS IN THIS ARTICLE: http://12thmanrising.com/2009/03/27/evaluating-tim-ruskell/
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4710175 Tim Ruskell was fired as the General Manager for the Seattle Seahawks. He was a scout for 20 years and the Seahawks gig was his first as GM, and he took them to the Super Bowl. His biggest mistake was letting Steve Hutchinson go in free agency...but he has drafted quite a few star players. This year was the last of his contract...so he technically went out on his own terms, resigning instead of being fired. I think it is definitly worth a look. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Ruskell In his first season in Seattle, Ruskell made a few roster changes that helped the Seahawks, bringing in free agents and drafting college players that played pivotal roles in the Seahawks run to Super Bowl XL and further solidifying his reputation as a master personnel executive.
