  1. I know there is another place for this post, but I think it deserves to be posted right where I have put it. For the sole purpose that I only associate with the people in this specific forum and I do not think I have ever posted elsewhere. Therefore, I would like some feedback, thoughts and comments from all or as many of you, as I can get to read this and chime in. This article just completely twisted my brain and flabbergasted me. I am in "Awe" and astounded that a professional athlete, who has gotten so much out of life, a majority of which I am sure was free, could say such things as he does in this article. However, I kind of, and I don't know why, agree with some of the points he tries to get across. Actually, the only thing that sticks out in my mind, like my Mother said a week ago, is why don't we teach these people about "birth control?" That is the only thing I will comment on, is the birth control, until I see how others feel. I do not want to offend anybody. PLEASE read this and share your thoughts on this article and how it relevantly relates to the situation in Haiti. http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010...ians-use-condom *This is something new to talk about. Something to take our minds off of our inept front office and the lackluster offseason our beloved Buffalo Bills have embarked on. There is nothing religious or political about this either. Please try to keep it that way, as well as somewhat positive, serious and non-offensive. (May be VERY hard to do, but please just try?) THANK YOU - I hope to hear from MANY of you on this specific topic. (Not Haiti itself, but the article about the disaster.) Sincerely, Byrdman
  2. Ok, so you gave me 0, ZERO, examples of a O-lineman that was drafted in the top-10, where we will draft this year. Then you validated my point by giving examples of linemen the Bills have found beyond the 1st round. excellent work smithers!
  3. OH DEAR GOD LET THIS BE TRUE?!?!?! Better yet... LET THIS HAPPEN PLEASE!!??!!
  4. Yes, I would. Jared Gaither. Left Tackle problem solved with a proven player.
  5. San Diego is putting Antonio Cromartie on the trading block...since Buddy drafted him, I would rather trade for Cromartie than draft a CB. San Diego could use Roscoe and a couple draft picks I'm sure. Cromartie would probably cost a 1st though.
  6. I believe his brother Biff is going to coach the inside linebackers.
  7. That is really what I was trying to get at. Nobody can say ALL the good LT's will be taken in the 1st round...because we could find 1 in the 7th round...or, undrafted for that matter. I agree 100%...McNally got the best out of big ole' J.P. Ask him what? How to knock up 7 different women, in 11 different states?
  8. Folks...nobody knows if there will or will not be a "stud" left tackle at pick #41. Some team could end up with a "stud" left tackle at pick #91, for all we or anybody else knows. What defines a "stud?" To me, I would rather get a guy that is GOING TO BE a "stud", rather than get a guy who is known as a "stud" RIGHT NOW. Take for instance Mike Williams. Came out of college as a "stud" and wound up a "dud." On the other hand, Jason Peters came out of college as a no-name, overweight tight end...the Bills found him, developed him, and he turned into a...ehhh, for the sake of argument, nevermind. Let's take Jared Gaither. He was not a very well-known product at Maryland while in college. He lost his eligibility, came out in the Supplementary Draft in 2007, and was drafted in the 5th round by the Ravens. Why? Not because he was a "stud" then, but because Ozzie Newsome and the Baltimore Ravens KNEW HE WAS GOING TO BE A "STUD." THAT is our problem. Up until now, and I will wait to see with this regime, we have not had anybody who could decipher whether or not a player would be a legit athlete, an "all-pro" somewhere down the line. We tend to fall in love with the big name guys who other teams seem to let slide, because they know that player will flame out. *Jared Gaither may become expendable with Michael Oher in Baltimore, he is a RFA...I would see what it takes to get him. If he could be had for a 1st round pick, I would get him instead of the unproven rookie. I have "heard" Gaither being compared to Ogden during games before. The guy is going to be 24 in a few months, stands 6'9 and is the tallest player in the NFL. He has great agility, is a beastly force in the run game and is a good pass blocker as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Gaither
  9. People said the same exact thing about Andre Smith last year...and look how well he played in Cincy this year.
  10. I mentioned that weeks ago, and got ripped apart for it. I am surprised whomever it was, has not got to you yet...Chester Taylor???
  11. So, if we drop Whitner...who replaces him at SS? I think Byrd and Whitner would make a solid combo... however, I would let Whitner walk if we drafted Myron Rolle (or Taylor Mays)...but I bet Rolle has the better career.
  12. Dexter McCluster and Myron Rolle...those are my 2 sleeper/surprise players in this draft. I bet they are both studs at the next level...especially Myron Rolle.
  13. I like Walter, but I would rather draft somebody like Graham Zug or Eric Decker for that "Wes Welker" role on the team. Seymour would be nice and could be had, but I have a hard time thinking Arizona will let Dansby walk. Getting Clancy Pendergast in here as our D.C. would certainly help our case in trying to get him. However, I think Shawne Merriman, if cut or able to look elsewhere, is the guy we go after. I completely base this on the fact that Nix drafted him and Maybin could be the 2nd coming of Merriman. I also think Derrick Johnson is another guy we go after to fill out the LB corps.
  14. I like Tom Bradley...but I think he is the "Coach-in-waiting" at Penn State.
  15. My point is that Fewell never led a defense to a Super Bowl...nor, has he had the success and experience that either of those 2 had. I DO like Fewell, I was just pointing out that these 2 guys are not push-overs. However, I just saw somewhere that Pendergast is staying with the Chiefs as a positional coach. So, that brings us back to Jim Bates. He has coached some decent defenses and his players all like to play for him. He is a tough, no non-sense teacher of the fundamentals of the game...something Gailey and Nix are looking for. Plus, he runs a 4-3 base scheme. That means we could work with some of the players we have, and not overhaul the whole roster. Going to a 3-4 and trying to get the personnel for that, would take 2-3, maybe 4, years. Jim Bates is our best, and safest, bet in my opinion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Bates_%28...can_football%29
  16. Bates and Pendergast have a better track record than Perry Fewell had.
  17. Favre's INT against the Giants in Lambeau a few years back. I would say THAT was worse.
  18. Nolan, Lewis and Pees were all candidates, but signed elsewhere. Next up, Jim Bates. He and Gailey have a long history together...he will get the job. Which, in the end, would probably be best for us based on the personnel we have and the defensive scheme he likes to run. Or, it will be Clancy Pendergast whom assembled and coached an Arizona Cardinals defense that played in the Super Bowl. Either way, we will be fine!
  19. Until Peyton Manning retires...in 27 years, Brett Favre is THE BEST QB I have seen play. Hands down.
  20. I think that is a moot point too. Harris is on a better defense...more better players for the numbers to go around. I would still rather have POZ, since I am a PSU fan...just sayin'. (I'll take Quarless, Royster, Odrick and Lee as well...most of all, give me Navarro Bowman and Graham Zug!)
  21. Your point is? I would say they are equal in talent...but, Harris plays on a more aggressive/attacking defense, that can actually stop the run.
  22. I have read many articles about this...but it just seems it is not worthy of big news. Which it isn't. Modkins just got a promotion to being O.C. but he really is just a glorified running backs coach. They will probably announce it sometime this week when they decide on a D.C. Seems like it would be best to do that anyways. Have a big announcement for their assistant coaches on the staff.
