  1. I'm not sure, but would Tom Brady in the 6th round be considered "Mid-Round" or "Late-Round?" Where was Kurt Warner drafted?
  2. Agreed on Cody and Spikes...I don't think Weatherspoon will fit in our scheme. I heard he was better suited for OLB in a 4-3. I would rather have somebody like Ricky Sapp, Brandon Lang or George Selvie fall to us as an OLB in our 3-4. Or better yet...Derrick Morgan. I would love to get this kid. Especially since we have half his coaches at G-Tech. But I think Cody is the next Ted Washington. Honestly. Ya don't play for Saban if your that fat and lazy and out of shape...Saban saw something in Cody...and I respect that and would honor that with drafting him.
  3. What these guys said... And no CountDorkula...when we aren't looking he takes a breather. <---Ya ever thunk if HE gets tired or not???
  4. Huh? So, I did alright then? I know some of them are on the wrong side of 30, and a couple are on the wrong side of 35. However, I think that is exactly what this young team needs for a year or two...and to think, we are only going to get younger in a couple months. C - Kevin Mawae (would be an upgrade over Hangartner, who would become a quality backup. Mawae could REALLY help the development of Wood, Levitre, Bell, Meredith and my sleeper, Jason Watkins.) RB - Kevin Faulk (his play, attitude, passion and leadership speak for itself. so does the fact he has played for NE for years...could provide QUALITY information and play with a little chip on his shoulder.) TE - Ben Watson (see above. also see our depth chart and the MAJOR improvement at the TE position this would help solidify for the next 3-4 years while Nelson comes into his own.) OLB - Scott Fujita (see his Super Bowl ring. he is a GREAT leader and can still play the OLB in a 3-4...his leadership and knowledge would help our younger LB's through the transition to our new 3-4 scheme.) DE - Jarvis Green (see Faulk and Watson. We also have a need for quality 3-4 DE's. he is another guy who has been around the scheme long enough and would be able to help our DE's along with the 3-4 transition.) OG - Bobbie Williams (paying no attention to age, he would provide an upgrade over Incognito in my opinion. he would be a quality veteran on the offensive line to help with the younger linemen and our probable draft pick.) NT - Bryan Robinson (a good, starting nose tackle of the Super Bowl Cardinals. he would really help, if not close a gap, temporary fill it in. just another guy to help the transition be a little smoother.) OLB - Chike Okeafor (a good, starting outside linebacker/defensive end for the Super Bowl Cardinals. again, another veteran that would help get our 3-4 scheme installed.) OG - Stephen Neal (starting lineman of the 3x super bowl champion Patriots. former amateur wrestler. 151-10 record, won the 1999 NCAA championship over Brock Lesnar. just failed to qualify for 2000 Olympics. he has started 73 of the 78 games he has played in. although 33, he is a good veteran guy who can play multiply positions.) DE - Dwan Edwards (former 2nd round pick, 28 years old, starting defensive end of an ELITE Defense. he could be a key-cog on our defensive line for 3-4 years. Edwards with Stroud on the other side, and S. Johnson in the rotation.) {He had Spinal Fusion surgery or something like that a few years ago. I don't know how I feel about that.} DE - Marques Douglas (Mike Nolan brought Douglas to the 49ers to help adjust to the 3-4. his 41.5 tackles-for-loss from 03-08 are 3rd-most in the NFL behind Pat Williams 49 and Lance Briggs 44.5. he was a big part of the Ravens defense when it was the best in the league. played on Rex Ryan's Jets Defense last year.) MLB - Larry Foote (29 years old. integral part of Steelers defense the last few years, including 2 Super Bowl wins. he is the perfect fit for a middle linebacker in the 3-4, has played in it and would help Poz a lot. they say that's all he can play.) * BOLD ARE MY TOP 5*
  5. Even when I said what I meant, people misunderstood me...so let me try this one more time here... Yeah they are both white; not my initial point, but I'll throw that in there for good measure. I read something earlier that said something like, "Walter is no Wes Welker, but imagine a slot WR that has very reliable hands and can run block very well for a WR." THAT PROVES MY point right there! They are both EXCELLENT slot receivers. They have GREAT hands. They can both run block very well. Both of them went to smaller D-1 schools, 1 being a 7th rounder and the other being undrafted. They both started off as nobodies on their first teams, Walter with the Giants and Welker with the Chargers. They were both cut shortly after signing, and both quickly signed with their second teams, Walter with the Bengals and Welker with the Dolphins. With their second teams they both first excelled at Special Teams, and in their 2nd seasons with these teams is where they both made their names as WR's. Then BOTH of them, after their 3rd seasons, were signed as RESTRICTED Free Agents. It was with their 3rd teams where they both became starters and really made names for themselves. Kevin Walter with the Houston Texans and Wes Welker with the New England Patriots. I think I did MUCH BETTER that time...whatcha say?
  6. I find this to be the BEST site I have found...it gives EVERY Free Agency signing...Big names and the lesser known ones... http://www.nfl.com/freeagency *ENJOY!
  7. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true Players that I think we should look at that could help us...(WR - Chris Chambers, who is not listed.) C - Kevin Mawae RB - Kevin Faulk TE - Ben Watson OLB - Scott Fujita DE - Jarvis Green (Broncos interested) OG - Bobbie Williams (In talks with Cincinnati) NT - Bryan Robinson OLB - Chike Okeafor OG - Stephen Neal (Resigned by New England) DE - Dwan Edwards DE - Marques Douglas MLB - Larry Foote (Redskins interested in Foote for new 3-4 MLB, also visiting Arizona) *(EDITED) Who ya want?
  8. This is for the people that RIPPED ME APART for comparing Kevin Walter to Wes Welker... http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true 1. Kevin Walter, WR, Houston: He thrived as a possession receiver in the Texans' highly effective passing attack. The Texans are trying to keep him, but if they don't, he should merit attention from another club that wants someone who uses plenty of smarts and toughness to get open on third down. Walter could be another Wes Welker, who went from a specialty role in Miami to a star in New England.
  9. And we are not going to move Levitre from LG to RG...for god's sake, the kid just learned how to play LG, moving in from OT. Now you wanna change his position for the 2nd time in a year?
  10. Where would you rather live and play football...Chicago/Miami or Buffalo? We had ZERO chance at Peppers and/or Dansby. ZERO!
  11. You couldn't have posted this in ALL the other Joey Porter threads? And, NO...Porter sucks. Why else would Parcells get rid of him? If Bill Parcells doesn't want him, I sure as hell don't want him. He is a punk and a cancer in the locker room.
  12. HAHA...McNabb? Why would he know ANYTHING about what the Bills are doing?
  13. I am PISSED about this move... I like the guy and thought he formed a GREAT interior with Levitre at LG and Wood at C, with Incognito at RG. I am VERY PISSED about this Buddy.
  14. A nightmare may become a reality...he is visiting the Dolphins tomorrow...HE just said so on NFL Live. I wouldn't mind that...especially with them having chips on their shoulders when they play Miami.
  15. I said this in my Off-Season plan a couple months ago...and people RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPED me apart... I think he is a quality backup...I would not want him as my starter. However, he is in play for the Bears, visiting them tomorrow. They need help and he fits in there...gets to face the Vikings...
  16. I would still take him for a year to teach Eric Wood a few things...
  17. I think he is really really...soooo good...and I would hate to face him twice a year, especially on the Dolphins. Hello Bryan Cox 2.0
  18. I also wouldn't be surprise to see us sign Kasim Osgood and some Seahawks for Special Teams. Osgood, from San Diego, is known as a Special-Teams Ace. Dehaven has coached the Seahawks ST's for the last 3 or 4 years.
  19. I think for defense they will go with the Dolphins free agents...those are Edwards' guys. Porter, Ferguson, Holliday...also Matt Roth who is now in Cleveland.
  20. Just mentioned on NFL Live...he just talked to his agent and he will visit the Dolphins first. Hope something goes wrong...hope he leaves without an offer.
  21. Just mentioned on NFL Live about how he's the best available QB and the Bills need a QB... Daylight come...and we gotta Delhomme? No Thanks!
  22. I think that we are going to go Offense during the draft. We will fill in the defense with Free Agents and a couple draft picks, possibly a trade. The Defense could look like this... DE - Stroud, McCargo, Johnson, (Holliday, Krischke, Eason, Green, or Taylor). DT - Williams, Favorite/Harvey, (Ferguson or Scott). LOLB - Schobel, Nic Harris, (*). MLB - Poz, Mitchell, (Foote or Trotter). ROLB - Maybin, Ellis, (Banta-Cain or Roth). CB - McKelvin, McGee, Florence, Corner, Lankster/Sargeant FS - Byrd, Cary Harris SS - Whitner, Scott or Wilson So in Free Agency we get a DE, DT and 2 LB's (1 OLB, 1 MLB). I am going with these guys because in an article on the front page, about Kawika Mitchell, he talks about how new coaches like to bring in their own guys. So, the players I picked have a connection with either Nix, Wailey, Gailey or Edwards. (Some have no connection) DE - Vonnie Holliday, Travis Kirschke, Nick Eason, Jarvis Green or Jason Taylor, my surprise of the year. DT - Jason Ferguson or Ian Scott. MLB - Larry Foote or Jeremiah Trotter *OLB - Tully Banta-Cain or Matt Roth I think in the draft we will go QB in the 1st round. Jimmy Clausen or Sam Bradford. I hope Clausen because I am an IRISH fan. I also think we will go after Demaryius Thomas, Gailey's WR from G. Tech. He seems to be the next big thing at WR in the NFL. If Golden Tate fell to the mid-rounds, and we drafted Clausen, he could be the guy to fill in at WR. My money is on Thomas though. I also think, if we draft Clausen, we will go after Sam Young, OT from Notre Dame. I also would like to see us go after Toby Gerhart if we trade Lynch...and of course, Tebow, if he falls a round or two. We will probably fill in the Defense with some mid-late round picks. Gailey is an Offensive-Minded guy...THAT is why I think we go Offense with the first few picks in the draft this year.
  23. You are seeing things how you want to see them... #1 - Show me where I said I "wanted to draft him ahead of what scouts and gms feel is a top 3 players period in this draft?" I didn't say I wanted to draft him at all, let alone where I would draft him. I simply said that he would make a nice duo with Jairus Byrd...which leads me to point... #2 - No, go back and read it again. I want to draft Mays because he is the better fit with Byrd. He would be the Strong Safety, while Byrd was the Free Safety. Eric Berry is going to be a Free Safety...THAT is NOT a NEED for us. Strong Safety is since everybody wants to jettison Donte Whitner, before giving him a chance in a 3-4 with a new coach. George Wilson is not going to be anything special, neither is Bryan Scott...if they even get brought back. Thank you.
