  1. Patricia is going to trade him to McDaniels. Wonder what Patricia will get in return.
  2. Hoping this can be a catch-all Offseason Targets Thread for both the draft and FA with info on the players(ALL POSITIONS) and some insight into why we would be targeting them and not just a wishlist thread of who we want(although that's fine too). Just something to spark some convo about the players and especially to get insight from posters who have seen them play alot. I'll start with a draft prospect(not a QB) and two potential LA Rams cap casualties Draft: TEXAS LB Malik Jefferson He is the athletic, physical type of LB that I think McD really wants for this defense. He is the kind of LB who you could potentially leave on the field in nickel situations allowing McD to stay in the 4-3 when the opposition has 3 WRs on the field, something that he did alot in CAR with Shaq Thompson and Thomas Davis. He will go in the latter half of the 1st round. Three year starter. FA: LA Rams DE Robert Quinn Quinn had somewhat of down year this year and is not a true fit for Wade Phillips D (despite his ability to adapt to his players, Wade likes the one gap 34 as his base). Big cap number and has been banged up the last couple of years. Rams save almost $11 million by cutting him. Rams need new contracts for Donald, Gurley, Watkins($16 mil if franchised like has been rumored), and Trumaine Johnson and I could see Quinn becoming available. He would be perfect fit for our D and would have a relationship already with Mike Waufle, our current DL coach. Would love to hear what other players are out there that you all could see being potential fits here.
  3. My initial thought is that they are only keeping 1 guy, but they have to cap room to potentially keep both Keenum and Bridgewater for at least 1 season if they get creative with the contracts. They are going to need new contracts for Diggs, Barr, and Hunter after this season, but they have a couple of amazing value contracts on their books. Don't see how Bradford is back with them. I would be interested in him if I were the Bills(on a reasonable contract that with only guaranteed money for the first year).
  4. I would imagine some offensive staff changes are coming. Our last staff was a mixed bag of McDermott guys and random WCO guys. Like someone said earlier Ehrhardt-Perkins is its own thing and I would imagine he will bring in at least one or two E-P guys to help install offense and terminology. Daboll also would have reasonable links to coaches who worked with Dan Quinn, Greg Schiano, Eric Mangini, Bill O'Brien, Romeo Crennell, Charlie Weis, Nick Saban, Josh McDaniels, Bob Quinn, Jon Robinson, Scot Pioli, Thomas Dimitrov. Other notable EP teams were the Tom Coughlin Giants, Todd Haley Cardinals, Chiefs, and current Steelers, random John Fox Panthers and Broncos teams, Chan Gailey Bills and Steelers, and the Mike Shula Panthers. Coupled with the Carolina connection, I think it is reasonable to expect one of Mike Shula or Ken Dorsey to be on this staff, if not both. Other potential staff Karl Dorell, WR coach NYJ Mick Lombardi, NYJ asst QB coach Mike Groh, PHI WR coach Wes Welker, asst WR coach HOU George Godsey, former NE TE coach and HOU OC Kyle Flood, long time Rutgers OL coach turned HC currently serving as ATL asst OL coach Mike Shula, QB coach CAR Nick Siriani, WR coach Chargers Jason Micheal, Titans QB coach Jeff Davidson, longtime John Fox OL coach most recently fired from DEN A lot of these guys will end up on Mike McCoy's or Josh McDaniel's staff, although I think McCoy will be the OC on whichever team hires McDaniels. Getting Daboll in the fold early allows us to get a jump on these coaches. This hire, coupled with the rumor of McCoy being our first choice last year, the Carolina connection to Shula, and the info i learned and trust about McD wanting (and offering Daboll the job last year) tells me that McDermott has some sense of the kind of offense he wants to run. He couldn't get it last year and had to make do with a patchwork O staff. Now, he has what he wants. Just need the players. P.S. If you liked the Bills offensive design under Gailey, you will like this offense IMO
  5. Good names except for bevell. I don't think they rushed it because they wanted him last year(he wasn't blocked from coming here). I'm not thrilled but I'm not disappointed either. I will wait to see the staff changes.
  6. Jim Bob cooter was on Daboll's staff in Miami
  7. Me. Buffalo is a small place.
  8. It tells me a couple things: 1. Indy is hiring a defensive coach and keeping chudzinski as OC. 2. McDaniels is going to NYG and McCoy going with him. I think those guys were probably ahead on the list but weren't coming here.
  9. They wanted him last year.
  10. More experience than Dorsey. Dorsey was the QB coach on a team that had its previous QB coach as it's OC. I have no clue how you've gathered that Ken Dorsey is the next great innovative offensive mind. The evidence just isn't there to give him an OC job.
  11. The planes don't lie. Always follow the planes.
  12. FWIW, pegula jet currently headed to Tuscaloosa and immediately to BUF. Brian Daboll is ALA OC. That is all. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/XSR960
  13. I wonder if the holdup is waiting on what happens in INDY. If they hire a defensive coach, he might want to keep chudzinski and I could see all those Carolina guys going to indy to work with luck
  14. McCoy will go wherever McDaniels goes.
  15. Nah, my opinion is correct
  16. Bevell would be terrible
  17. I think the only thing McD is loyal to is trying to win.
  18. Yes. But it was after we were turned down by McCoy and Greg Olson. Honestly, I think McDermott has a hard choice right now between a guy who was his first choice last year when he was hired but probably didn't think would be available again (Mike McCoy) and a guy who he conceivably could have forsaw coming available after his first year as HC and who he may have locked in on behind the scenes(Chud). Dennison was hired to be fired. Wasn't wanted and his entire staff was in place before he came aboard.
  19. OC: McCoy QB: Todd Downing RB: Eric Studesville WR: Phil McGeoughan TE: Rob Boras OL: Mike Tice
  20. He's never worked with McCoy. I will be happy with either based on the staff that could bring in.
  21. do it today
  22. He is the rumored first choice in SEA as their OC and a couple of HC candidates have him as their first option if hired. Also, not a very strong link to McDermott.
