Some people guess way better than others. Especially when there are FACTS to base your guess upon. Plenty of FACTS that we know about Vick, plenty of FACTS that I know about success rate for guys trying to come back as a QB in the NFL, blah, blah, blah. This isn't a "flip a coin" situation.
-
Yes, I am smarter than you. Or at least a better judge of Vick's ability to to come back under the circumstances (it ain't gonna happen). Of course you can have an opinion, it's just that I'm tired of opinions about Mike Vick, and I would like to see people stand behind what I consider ludicrous opinions with their MONEY. I am willing, I just can't figure out the way to go about it all.

TO missing from practice today
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Owens has been fine. Less drama than Donte Whitner. If the Bills weren't such a Mickey Mouse organization, he might have been able to help the team, but they suck, and he is just a scapegoat. -
Don't want to argue, the cases have been layed out for months now (gee, the Eagles find no use for him, big surprise). I want to bet! It's the only way to get any satisfaction from the whole Vick situation. If I could figure out a way to make the bet, I would put my money where my mouth is.

You are right of course. But that people actually think he will somehow help this team, and that the Front Office actually considered Vick, and that player's have some kind of "pie-in-the-sky" hope for his signing, reveals a bit about the depth of the problems with the fanbase, the players, and the organization. I think they know enough to stay away at this point. They are already a joke. P.S.- I have now lost any respect for Whitner, not because his play is so average, but because he fancies himself a "leader" on this team and is dumb enough to think that Vick might be the right way to go. He is an idiot.

I can't see you looking me up 5 years from now to pay me. That's the problem, it's over too long a period of time to arrange. Figure it out though, and we can discuss money. $500 ? $1000 ? $.05 ? I wonder if Vegas takes these kind of bets.... Anyway, it's called hype, and the post-prison career of Mike Vick is the epitome of HYPE!!. All controversy, no content. Much ado about nothing. He is done. Bad character, tenth-chance deserving or not.

I have to figure out a way to make money offa fools like these guys. If I could make some kind of bet that Vick will NEVER win 9 games in a season as a starting QB ( I really can't see him coming close, if he ever even gets a starting job), I would take it. Any ideas? Or maybe I could start some Mike Vick website for his fans, so that somehow I can exploit these complete idiots. Anybody wanna buy a bridge?

We Do Not Have The Worst Line In The NFL
Geno Smith's Arm replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well now I feel better.... -
Maybe you don't understand that California has some of, if not the best, high school coaching in the country. This goes a long way to developing talent (no one is coming out of Tonawanda to play QB in the NFL). The play outdoor sports all year there as well, and that is a big reason why so many baseball and football players come from that area. I have heard many a discussion about this subject, and it's ridiculous.

Another Possible although not Probable Idea for HC
Geno Smith's Arm replied to IHFO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately,I have a feeling he might end up the guy. He would come cheap, he has experience, and he sucks. -
Do you want to Keep Jauron or Fire Jauron
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Like literally hold a burning ember branch and prod his 4$$ out of town. Let him know that if he comes back, we will tar & feather him! He really needs to leave the area completely. -
Maybe its the typical schedule but really
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think ANY amount of practice will significantly improve these Bills. I'm sure it might gratify a season-ticket holder to have them worked to the bone as punishment, but really they just aren't very good. They are a "dead horse". -
Holmgren wants to coach on the east coast
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Bruuuuce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a feeling that the next guy won't be any of the guys mentioned so far. More likely a current coordinator from another team, or a college coach. I think most of the old veteran coaches would know enough to stay away. -
There isn't anything that can be done right now that would be productive. It isn't just DJ, it's everywhere in the "organization". In his defense, Dick doesn't have very good players to work with. And I'm not sure he is to blame for that (I don't think he had much say the draft choices). I don't know what the assistant coaches make, but I'm guessing that if Ralph paid well, they could attract better assistants. It's just a big mess and Jauron (who is terrible), is really just the whipping boy for the "organization". He seems to take well to getting FUtAz
-
I don't really understand what is so "stand up" about accepting the blame as a head coach. How difficult is it for someone to do that when there aren't any repercussions? In fact the more often he "accepts the blame" the less meaningful it becomes (he says it after every loss it seems). It is just a token response.

Dick Jauron's Popwarner Offense
Geno Smith's Arm replied to barbwire's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, I'm worked up about this opportunity too. Thanks for finding a silver lining for Bills fans to hang our hats on. The possiblities are limitless.... I think they should stick with The Rope-a-Dope Offense, they just gave it away too early this week. Personally, I think they blew it with the Owens touchdown. This offense demands DISCIPLINE, and that was a real turning point. They would have been better served if he had been tackled for a loss, and then Jauron could have the Bills settle for a field goal. The Texans wouldn't have turned it up a notch and might have just bumbled their way through this game. It should have been a 9-6 Bills "Non-Loss". -
Thank you. I'm only half joking. I'm working on a book....

We are playing a more "cerebral" game. We get in their heads, and make them play the worst football of their careers. It's kind of like the way a less talented team might try to "slow the game down". But instead of trying to slow the pace, they slow down the mental aspects of the game. It's revolutionary. How do they do this you ask? Well here is a quote from a prior post: "It involves seeming to play completely incompetently. First these Bills establish themselves in the minds of the other team as Buffoons. Passes to no one, clear paths to the QB, running backs avoiding holes and running directly to tacklers, dropping passes, false starts, lining up in the neutral zone, bad timeouts, not starting their best players, general confusion in the backfield, topped off by using a no-huddle (have I missed anything? I'm sure I did because this offense is TRULY COMPLICATED). Then, and only then, while the other team has lulled themselves into comfort, THEY STRIKE!! Then it only takes 2 or 3 competently executed plays a game, plays they have worked REALLY HARD on in practice, (in fact they might intentionally only work on 3 or 4 plays ALL WEEK) to get a score or two. Basically, the idea is "if we don't know what we are doing, then there is NO WAY the defense can figure us out!". It's brilliant. I can picture this thing being copied around the league, like the Wildcat. The Rope-A-Dope!" And this: "These Bills just HUMILIATE teams. Just embarrass them. It's kinda like the Patriots running up the score, except it's the opposite. Teams make some mistake and are so ashamed to have made them against this Bills team, that they fall apart. We even ALMOST got the Patriots with this method. Dick is a master strategist, it's really starting to work now." And this too: I really think it gets into the other teams' heads. One guy makes a mistake, some of the guys on his team look at him like "come on man, these are the Bills we're playing. Ryan Denney just made a play on you". Then maybe a honest mistake by another guy, say an offsides on another lineman. The the Jauron magic starts to take hold. Then another mistake like a bad roughing the passer call. Now individuals try to do more than they should, then comes the disbelief " we can't even score on Buffalo", the fans turn against them (that's why this team is better on the road. Humiliation.) I'm kinda serious....." I was too lazy to write this stuff out again, but I really mean it! Your Ravens/ Bills stats just give me more conviction. I think the Bills defense will have some nice stats this year because other teams just play down to their level.
-
I have thought about it for a day. I now think the Bills should draft 2 or 3 QB's with their top picks. How many left tackles come into the league as rookies and play really well? I know someone is gonna bring up some aberration, but really, they take a few years to develop, and they likely won't be any better as rookies than Bell or some free agent they can pick up. The defense sucks, but it can be patched up, and they seem to be improving in some ways. They can get some linebackers in the middle rounds that can play, sign a fre agent, blah blah blah. Yeah, the Ravens won a Super Bowl with a lame QB, but actually attempting to find "the next Trent Dilfer" is ridiculous. Putting together a defense as good as that Ravens' is even more difficult than finding a great QB. They have to bring in a QB that has the potential to be a star. It sucks, it's a crapshoot, but it's the only way to go about it. PS. I really don't need some short fat guy, with a moustache to reply with "Defense wins championships". Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, and Peyton Manning win championships.

What did Larry Johnson do that was so wrong
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mostly he is playing poorly, if he were tearing it up, this wouldn't have happened. He has always been an immature guy anyway. -

DeSean Jackson v. James Hardy
Geno Smith's Arm replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. don't forget the QB's. HOw many passes would have made their way to Desean if he played for the Bills with Trent? Even beyond all the other factors (the Bills have tiny guys running around all over the place, we didn't need another one). It's too early. -
I understand that approach, and it's hard to disagree because they HAVE to find a QB, but I just don't see happenning with this crop. Maybe I'm just gunshy, and wary of "3 more years". Locker is the one guy that caught my eye, but he seems a bit inaccurate. Tebow will not make it as a NFL QB. These guys just strike me as classic "College QB's", Andre Ware, Rick Mirer, Heath Shuler,,,,on and on forever
