  1. They haven't won it all. They also have faced 2 teams that were very suspect (at least to me). Both the Bengals and Chargers are soft teams. The Colts will be much tougher, and if they get by them, the Vikings will take care of them. Next year though, they should be tougher to beat. With Sanchez having a year under his belt (he was a high 1st round pick, did you know that?) they could develop a more complete offense.
  2. If the Bengals could hire the top assistant at the time (Marvin Lewis) why would this be the reason the Bills can't catch one. I think that because there are more "big-name coaches" unemployed out there, and there were a few coaching positions open, it made the Bills look bad (those are all looking for the glamour jobs, and there are some desirable jobs out there, plus a TV job pays pretty well these days). No it isn't the best job out there, but now the situation is gaining a life of it's own (due to the mentioned circumstances) because of the way the media thrives on exaggeration. It will be fine. There are good coaches available. Frankly, I'm more concerned with getting better players on the roster (a QB is essential, and probably a big reason why a none of the big names want to come here). That is a drafting problem....
  3. He isn't the owner. He isn't the GM. And, as I mentioned above, to have him pleading with coaches would actually make the BILLS organization seem LESS credible. (I'm not sure how much credibilty he has outside of his on-the-field performance. As a businessman? As a politician?)
  4. Who cares if Jim Kelly talks to Cowher? Why would this be considered signifigant? I can't see Kelly making or breaking any coach's decision, and Kelly would likely have a conversation with any of the big name coaches about the job if he were at some kind of event with them. I can't see one of the big time guys making the huge commitment to a job and organization based conversations with Kelly. If true, it makes the Bills Organization look bad. Like they have to send Kelly out to plead on the Bills behalf, instead of having real administrators take of business. Why do people have this "Jim Kelly to the Rescue" ( a Black Oak Arkansas reference) fascination. It's pathetic.
  5. I once heard that Van Miller thought Marv was aterrible coach, and he saw all the games. I thought Marv was good, but the talent was even better.
  6. You don't think performance drugs are even more prevalent today? Maybe they are just of higher quality? I have to believe thay are deeply entrenched in football. NFL, College, and lots of high school kids. Just because they are tested for doesn't mean they aren't prevalent. Just look at the players. Look at the way guys come back from injury unbelievably quick. there is no shortage of douchebags in the NFL
  7. What was the other guys post? "Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding. Wnner,Winner , Chicken Dinner!" That's about how long it will take if they wait until the O-line is good, THEN draft a QB, wait/ hope for him to develop.
  8. Yay! "Defense wins championships" Those kinds of posts are all over this board, and it's not really the question. You are strong in your knowledge of the cliches of football, but please layout a timeframe for the original question. There has to be an appropriate cliche that applies.
  9. We need a good QB. We need a good QB. We need a good QB. The biggest need on this team is QB. The most important position on any team is the QB. Doesn't have to be your best player, but he needs to be good. Timeframe. No one want to answer that. How many drafts should we EXPECT (I don't need someone to post "we'll you never know if a guy is gonna turn out, so" No $#it! ) Lay out a timeframe.
  10. That's not even a response to that post, let alone to the original question. But, if you are taking that perspsective, you want them to wait 3 or 4 years before they draft a QB in the 1st. Great idea man!
  11. Then now is the time for a 1st round QB (obviously, the QB needs to be worthy of a 1st round pick. I don't, and you don't, and no one really knows how successful a guy will be). I agree!
  12. More circular arguments. No one is really setting out a timeframe for how long this should take. Simple question. How many more drafts should the Bills PLAN to need before they should EXPECT the O-line to be good enough, to pick a first round QB if they think he is WORTHY of the pick? (I know, some will say "get a QB in the later rounds").
  13. No, right question. A simple question really. Lots of people have posted that they want the Bills to "fix" the line first, then draft a QB. I think, if there is a worthy QB, the sooner you get the QB here the better. He can sit while the the line is built up.
  14. So we draft a QB three years from now, then develop him (of course, he will most likely be the next Mark Sanchez, or Matt ryan. Not the next Heath Shuler....) Playoffs 2015 here we come! It's only 5 years.....
  15. J@k@zz!. I was being sarcastic. This seems to be the number one argument on this board, so I want to hear the timeframe these O-line drafters think it will take to fix the line.
  16. First round QB. How long will it take to fix the line? That's the real question (Plus the Jets are a bit of a sham, no?)
  17. For all the folks that don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a QB because the line sucks, how many high picks do you want to spend on lineman, and how many more drafts, before you think it will be "safe" to pick a QB? I think they can spend a first pick on a (worthy) QB, let him sit a season, and build a decent line in the meantime, but so many seem to think it would be a grand idea to draft more lineman and then pick a QB, wait around a couple years for him to develop, etc. So lay out a time frame. You know, like "2 more drafts of a couple O-lineman high each year, then a QB that they can develop for a couple of seasons, and we'll be ready for the playoffs in 2015".
  18. Maybin is almost a full 2 years younger than Orakpo. I bet he will be a better 23 year old player than Orakpo. For those that thought "The 2009 Season is the one, Super Bowl here we come", you will claim that this team needed to be better NOW, but the truth is they were gonna suck no matter who they drafted. Just let it play out. The Bills are gonna suck for a while longer at best.
  19. I disagree. I don't think it's any secret that they suck terribly. A few wins here or there ain't gonna fool anyone that has ANY football sense.
  20. No matter how much money you pay someone, it's really hard to put your body on the line in a pointless endeavor. UNless you're some guy just trying to stay in the league, there really isn't much to play for. If anything , you are really just hoping you don't get seriously injured. This Bills season was over before it began.
  21. I think these Bills lack talent way more thancoaching. The front office needs to get better players, because even a good coach wouldn't win much with these guys. A QB sure would help too......
  22. I have done my part. Hopefullythe mods will ban ALL polls. Just take that feature right off. It's dangerous. (How could anyone have taken this poll seriously?)
