  1. I would rather they hate each other, the city, the management, and the fans.......but win. Seriously though, maybe things are a little too comfortable for these guys?
  2. Yeah, especially without a quarterback.....
  3. I side with the fans. They pay the salaries. The whole thing is running on the fans money (yes, even the television revenue), and we are treated terribly. Like a girlfriend you are trying to get rid of, but keeps coming back, bearing gifts. Commercials thrown at us constantly, slowing the game, and at the stadium it is IMPOSSIBLE to not have some kind of ad in your field of vision (the world wasn't always like this, there was a time when every inanimate object wasn't a billboard). Overpriced concessions and parking, blacked out games, TAX BREAKS! I stopped giving them my money back in 1990. I don't buy tickets, or NFL gear etc. I watch the games, but I don't buy any products that are advertised during the games (at least to my knowledge). No, I don't avoid the products, I'm just not a big consumer. I don't buy new cars, or Coors/Bud/Miller, or go to fast food joints, etc. I'm not a snob (just poor, but with expensive tastes), and I have to spend my money wisely. I know there are others like me out there in Bills Land. Of course I'm a huge Bills fan, and they have the whole region in perpetual fear that they would move the team if the area resists, so it's a catch-22. It's not the league's fault though, it's ultimately the fans that let it happen.
  4. Regardless of his football skills (not those of a NFL quarterback), he never struck me as all that bright. More like a dumb, southern hick, used as a tool by the far right. And the last guy I wanna see in a Bills uniform. "Aw, shucks!" Flame away babies!
  5. I think he wants to play for a team with a good QB that can throw him the ball. If the guy was getting the ball more regularly he would have felt like he was playing in a football game instead of running back and forth like he was just doing sprints on a Sunady afternoon! He wouldn't dropped as many either I would guess, as his head would have been more in the game. I didn't even like Owens, but he has been a great receiver and still had something while in Buffalo, the team just couldn't get him involved. I also think winning is important to him, even if it is just to boost his ego. The Bengals are a way better situation for him. A good QB and a team that can make the playoffs. He has no interest in playing for the Bills, it's a joke of a franchise.
  6. Fixed it for you (no problem, we all make mistakes) Really I would just take a flyer on Smith for THIS season, and hope he develops (as I said he is already better than what we have), but I wouldn't bet the bank on him. Just something to hold the fans interest and MAYBE get lucky with (I think he has a better chance to succeed than Brohm!), while the draftee is getting up to speed. Let Troy Smith absorb the sacks until the O-line is in shape. Still need THE MAN, and we need him as soon as possible (IF they think one of the guys in this draft can be the franchise, they need to do it NOW!) What have the Bills done with their drafts anyway, they could do worse with the 5th pick. How many 5th rounders even make (or stay with a team more than say 2 years)?
  7. He obviously has problems or he wouldn't be shopped every year.
  8. He is better than any other QB on the Bills roster. If they can get him for a 5th, i would do it, AND draft a 1st rd QB.
  9. Maybe it isn't an indication. But if he isn't motivated by millions of dollars (the difference in being a top 10 draft pick and a 2nd rd) what motivates him? Maybe it's a GOOD sign. Maybe we have finally found a player that is just in it "for the love of the game". He doesn't bother with salesmanship, and doesn't feel the need to impress anyone off the field! Let's pick him! Forget a QB, this guy will be a huge asset in the lockerroom!
  10. All the "Build the O-Line first!" people have been assuming that these LT's are "Franchise", yet cower at the thought of risking on a 1st rd quarterback! All these guys are a risk.
  11. Yes, but one of my BEST points is that it takes these guys longer to get good. Delhomme didn't become a starter until his 7th season! Hasselback was weird but it took 5 years for the guy to be good. Rich Gannon was 44 years old(haha) and was nothing for most of his career. It usually takes much longer for the 2nd 3rd round guys to get going. I don't wanna wait around 5 seasons for Dan Lafavarr to be competitive.
  12. What are you gonna do with 8-8, and still no QB? We had 9-7 remember? That felt like progress? Gotta get a QB here and developing as soon as possible. A 3rd or 4th round guy MIGHT be a steal, but even if he is, it will likely take a few more years for him to develop (compared to a 1st round talent). That's why he is a 3rd rounder. Playoffs 2015!
  13. That is a reasonable plan. If there is a QB that they feel could be a "franchise QB" you have to take him. Putting it off a year is just foolish. And, if the Bills improve ( the new regime is better, they will likely improve a bit) they will pick lower in the draft next year, and possibly fall enough to draft a Losman instead of a Rothelisberger again.
  14. Which scenario appeals to you more, a mediocre QB with a top flight Left Tackle, or a top flight QB with a mediocre LT?
  15. Okay. Let's just say that if he couldn't reach an agreement with any of the other 31 teams, he might have re-signed with the Bills.
  16. You throw the ball to him. And find someone that can throw it to him well and timely. If Lee Evans were on the Colts, he would be a perrenial All-Pro.
  17. Does anyone really believe any of this matters if they have the same QB's throwing the passes? Jerry Rice would spend a career in anonymity if he had these guys as QB's. Sure they didn't play that well, that's because they had NO HOPE of getting anywhere.
  18. I agree with this guy!
  19. I can't imagine how different this season would have been if everyone on this team tried their very most bestest. 8-8, maybe? Without a QB worth a sheet, and a half dead coach it's really hard to generate any intensity. I don't have any real grudge against Owens, and before he came to the Bills I didn't like him at all. He was not the problem, and if there had been any chance for that team to achieve any kind of success, he would have been alot better.
  20. Especially when he wants to get into politics.
  21. Actually, it was an unknowingly perceptive post. The answer is that he is trying to drum up some press for a political career.
  22. You have it all wrong man. The Bills should be searching for a mediocre quarterback. They should be sifting through the 6th and 7th rounds, panning for copper in the form of the next Brad Johnson/ Trent Dilfer. Plus, who wants to see a bunch of touchdowns? I like those 9-6 field goal battles! Clock-killing quarterbacks appeal to the traditionalist in me! Just bore the opposition, AND the stadium full of people, and squeeze the intensity out of every game.
  23. None of the ex-Bills QB's have gone on to do ANYTHING. Bill Walsh gave a Stanford QB a glowing recommendation, what a surprise! By the way, the photo under your name is ONE PLAY, probably a draw play that was run after 3 straight completions by the No-Huddle, in a 3 wide set, against a Dime Defense. Yeah, there were some big holes, that's what happens when you have a HOF QB that puts a defense on it's heels with a record breaking passing attack. One of the best ways to help out your O-line is to have a QB that poses a threat of some kind.
  24. For some reason, people can't seem to understand that part. I am confident that almost anyone (maybe not Matt Millen) that makes it to the upper levels of NFL front offices understands though, and that's why they spend so many high picks chasing down a franchise QB. Without one, and until one is found, EVERY GM or head coach knows his job is on shaky ground. I'm sure the primary goal of the new guys is to get a QB somehow, moreso than find a LT or a freaking nose tackle. Whether they have an opportunity to get a "Franchise QB" with the 1st rd. pick IN THIS DRAFT, that we don't know.
  25. Yeah, but he built the line AFTER he had Jim Kelly, RIGHT?
