  1. How do you just write off getting what may be the best QB ever as being "neither here nor there"? It's here there and everywhere! Also, there is nor recognizable pattern to the draft choices you listed, and not all those guys turned into anything special. It hasn't been the positions of the players the Bills have drafted, it's that they have consistently picked guys that haven't been impact players.
  2. Big Cat is right, Moorman isn't performing well. Not today, and not in most games this season. I think that while it might not be Priority 1, the punting (and overall kicking game) is an area that the Bills can, and should try to improve by next season. I don't think he is out of line to post about it.
  3. It's a finely tuned machine. Great playcalling, great QB, and a bunch of hard-working average to average players (no stars) that know their roles, with coaches that know their abilities. They are a sum that is greater than it's parts.
  4. ??? They were getting beat up from the start, and Fitz was a turnover machine, where did the gameplan come into it?
  5. Flash to all Bills fans, the Bills would have lost if this game even if they had the best TE in football. Also, there aren't enough good players on the Bills roster for ANY coach to stop the best offense in football, especially when they get so many turnovers. The Bills still suck, give the coach another season to get more talent on the roster.
  6. And coach, and play as well! I can't think of a single aspect of pro football that the Patriots organization doesn't do better than the Bills. I think maybe the Bills are better at keeping mediocre players for their entire careers, and maybe the waterboy staff is a little more efficient. Bravo!
  7. I think they should pick the best O-line or defensive front-7 guy that is available (unless Andrew Luck is there, which is impossible). Tight End? I think the fact that the Bills haven't had a good one for a long time has made some people dwell on this position. I really don't think it would be wise to use the 1st pick on one with the other problems these Bills have. All said I really just want them to choose a player that turns out to be exceptional for once.
  8. A very good player, but I really think he was more popular than his play warranted because he was "high-motor"
  9. I would take watching the 90's Bills over the Ravens single super bowl. Way more fun.
  10. I understand. I have felt that way for awhile, but now think that he can get the job done, and that they really need to get some impact defensive players. If they could pick Andrew Luck I would love it, but that's not gonna happen. A top flight D-lineman and linebacker would make this team dangerous. They need both, and another above average O-lineman. Just get the talent level up. With the longer schedule, depth is going to become ALOT more important too.
  11. It feels so good to have a QB. It makes following the Bills worthwhile.
  12. People resent his contract. He has played most of his career with some of the worst teams I have seen in 35 years of watching the Bills, so they had to pay him extra to keep him. At least he was willing to play for the joke that was this team for 10 years. He is a good receiver and i'm happy that he is on the team. Lee Evans has not been the problem.
  13. The Bills should offer Alosi the Head Coach job! Belichick will probably hire him to groom him to take over the Premiership(these guys are like Mao or other historical tyrants), or at least to keep other teams from grabbing him up.
  14. Pretty much says it all. Not an impact player . Not worth any more than an very average contract for a veteran at his position. I don't blame him for being picked #8 though. Bad drafting.
  15. You like that huh? You are probably correct that it was their intention try to get a flag. There will probably be a rule change. I'm no big stickler for sportmanship, but douchebaggery is something I really don't like. The fact that the Alashole took it as far as he did kinda indicates the mentality behind the strategy. Very small ball indeed.
  16. Like I said, pick a frontrunner team. The Steelers are consistent. We all want to win, but another 6-10 season doesn't mean anything. It's an overhaul of one of the worst teams I ever watched. Gailey has made lots of changes, and needs some time to get the team up to snuff. We all like winning, but I'll take a 3-13 first season from Peyton Manning, knowing that the team is on the upswing, over 7-9 team with Trent Edwards at the helm. To say you will only give a coach credit after he takes a crap team, in maybe the toughest division in the NFL, to the playoffs is ridiculous. It's like, "I will only praise my son when he becomes a millionaire, anything less just won't do"
  17. RFP was also on some bad teams. No matter. It will be clear after these last games whether or not he is a fluke. I have held off, but I can see already that RFP is better than average. I bet Jerry Jones would give him a boatload of money to play for Dallas. When will you jump on board, when they make the playoffs? It's only 12 games into the new staffs tenure, and they were starting from NOWHERE. Methinks you are being a bit disingenous when you compare the records. This season they have played a much tougher schedule, and have been way more competitive. And to simplify a rebuilding year strictly down to the won-Loss record is silly...anhhhhhh blahblahblah- your just a hard nut Playing Mister Hard-to-Impress is easy when a team is at the bottom, but being able to spot a team on the rise takes some insight into this game we love. That's what makes this board interesting, it's a chance to lay out some analysis. Seriously, find another team. Just cheer for the frontrunners.
  18. I get ya. I 'm trying to say that he might be as good as some of the guys in the HoF. Honestly, I don't think Marv Levy is some kind of genius coach, he was in a situation that played to his strengths. I don't think Bill Cowher is a mastermind, he was a good coach that benefited from having a solid organization that gave him (just as they have Mike Tomlin) real authority. No one would question him because the Steelers pick a guy and stand by him! Not all coaches are so lucky. I don't think there is another coach that would have improved this team more than CG has. There are some coaches that would have a better record! Dick Jauron probably would! He would Rope-a-Dope his way past a few more teams, but they would still be directionless, and not really improving. But this season is an overhaul, and they are doing a great job of changing the team. The schedule is tough this season, but the team is so obviously better, and is developing an identity.
  19. How many coaches make the HoF? Lot's of good coaches don't, I know that. I don't think anyone was nominating Marv Levy prior to his Bills tenure, in fact he was a bit of a joke (the Wing-T Offense?) So many things have to go right for a player or coach to have a HoF career. One good QB can make or break the careers of a group of coaches and players. Would Jerry Rice have ever won a Super Bowl if he was drafted by the Detroit Lions? Or would he have made Eric Hipple a HoFer? I don't know. Point is, the situation and different characters in the play have to be right. All I really know is that CG has worked miracles with an offense that had been dead for many seasons. It's really impressive to me. Where he can take this team is uncertain, but he is only 12 games in and has made some big changes and layed the groundwork for more improvements.
  20. He could play at the same level, but some variables could be changed and he would be top tier. First, improve the line, a couple guys, even just a bit better, would improve RFP's game. Right now he is playing without a top shelf line, all the those top tier guys have better lines than him. When Brady plays under the kind of rush RFP usually faces, he suddenly drops out of that "top tier". A better defense would provide better field position. A better defense can keep the opposition's score down. Those are HUGE. The offense can be better balanced, not be under so much pressure to score. In other words, the offense would hold the cards. That gives a QB so much of an advantage. Right now they are constantly playing from behind, and always concerned about scoring lots of points because they never have the lead, and no lead would be safe. The "card game" aspect favors a cerebral QB that reads defenses well (RFP). RFP is getting better and better, and is still ascending, so I don't think it is fair to slot him just yet. It is cool to see him get experience in these comebacks and overtime, and high pressure situations. It will benefit him greatly down the line. Again, no need to bicker, because we will get to see how he develops by the end of the season. Next year going into camp the whole vibe will be much different, and he will know that it is his team. Right now, you can feel that the team is learning about each other, players and coaches. Just KNOWING in the offseason that you have a real QB/offense will make the team more focused. Right now they can't even make the playoffs and they are playing all out! That's RARE to see from a team.
  21. hahahahahahahahahahahahhaha! Has anyone seen RFP out on the town? He is probably more "pipe and slippers" though, than "man about town".
  22. I am 100% with the "we really should have a "Marquee Quarterback". 100%! The cool thing is, I think RFP could very easily be one! I have been posting that these last games (starting with the Steelers) would be the ones that will let everyone know if RFP is the guy. Beating Detroit and Cincy is nice, but I need more evidence against some top flight teams, and there are some tough teams ahead. I am beginning to believe RFP is not a fluke. We will know by the end of the season, so it's no big deal, no need to bicker (just don't tell me you need to get a look at Brian Brohm first).
  23. May have been the right choice? I give CG the lionshare of the credit for the difference in play from these Bills. He is only 12 games into the job! I can't wait for next season when they will have a better understanding of the identity of the team, and will be able to shore up the weaknesses. Free agents might even consider Buffalo a good team to sign with!
  24. I have NEVER seen Manning take a hit like the one Harrison laid on RFP last game. He is mild mannered and loose, smart as (actually, why be modest, SMARTER than) anyone in the league, and tough as nails! These Bill could use a top shelf right tackle to keep RFP's head connected to his body though. He is getting hit WAY too much, and way too hard. Hopefully the refs will start to give him "the star treatment" that he (and Brady & Manning) deserves. I would bet that if he had the kind of protection that Manning has, he would be much more accurate. Manning doesn't get a quarter of the abuse that RFP gets. He has guys in his face. I'm not saying he is going to reach the Manning level, I'm saying he will be even better if thye upgrade the O-line a couple of notches. I don't think they need to spend the 1st pick on a lineman, but there are ways to get a couple better guys in to play.
  25. He might not be a marquis quarterback, but he is becoming a marquee quarterback. His numbers are great! If he continues to play this way, he will be every bit the TV attraction that Drew Brees is. I bet Jerry Jones would pay him a bundle to play for the Cowboys. Fitz would be a huge star if he played in Dallas (he wouldn't even have to win much, look at Tony Romo), and could "date" all the Hollywood starlets he wanted. It'd be TMZ and Oprah for "RFP" (that should be his new moniker), and tools across the USofA would start sporting RFP beards while they trawl their local watering holes! But fortunately, RFP is way too cool for that.
