  1. I think this is pre-draft talk that might stir a GM or two to call to make a deal, or just generally hype up the value of the 3rd pick. I think people on this board are getting hot and bothered, and idealizing some of these prospects (Cam Newton).
  2. LOL, I stand corrected!
  3. I hear he got loads of tail.
  4. It's not for the fans to decide. You have to trust the staff to make that decision. That's why I brought up that there have been hundreds of guys like that, not every guy can make it. They bring a guy in, try to develop him, and if they think he can do it, they give him a shot. If he doesn't impress, they can keep him until they upgrade, and in the meantime he can try to improve. Of course, people will complain that this staff doesn't know what they are doing, bt I give them the benefit of a doubt. We have seen a bit of LB, and it was nothing special. Let's debate the backup longsnapper instead.
  5. I think they wanted it THIS year because they would've had achance to coach them , and get that much better of a feel for the players. There are more underclassmen than ever coming out this year because of the collective bargaining talks. I think they have their hands full trying to evaulate so many Juniors, and next years draft won't be as good. This is a very important draft.
  6. I haven't seen Levi Brown do anything notable enough to think that he will do anything notable in the future. To me he seems to be just another low round QB draft pick, the kind that every team has had filling out it's roster. There have been hundreds of these kinds of QB's throughout the history of the league, many of whom never saw the field in a real game, and spent their careers playing in preseason games. It's not a big deal, and I don't think we have to "get to the bottom of this Levi Brown issue" or some such nonsense.
  7. I think they are hiding Brown on the bench until the offensive line is better, the running game improves, we get another really good receiver, a pass rush specialist, and a couple real good linebackers. Then it's "Tom Brady the Second" time baby! He is a monster talent just waiting to explode! I have picked him up in all five of my keeper leagues!
  8. I think the Bills are lacking in talent. I also think that peoples perceptions of a players' talent is greatly affected by the record of the team. For many seasons (in fact I can't remember the last time I didn't hear this going into the season), we had heard that "the Dallas Cowboys are the most talented team in the NFC". I never believed it, I figured they tell all those "Americas Team" fans this stuff to get them to buy magazines, watch sports news, and buy merchandise! The Bills don't have that kind of cache, they don't have a good record, and they haven't drafted any high-profile type college players that people remember.
  9. Cutler is tough. He has taken a lot of hits and never pointed fingers. He has terrible receivers, and nothing special at running back. He is definitely "tough enough". Problem is he's a douche.
  10. I was thinking the same thing.....
  11. Frankly, comparing Roethlisberger and Newton has never occured to me, and regardless of the physical stats you list,I don't think they have anything to do with each other. I also don't think that R. Wilson will demand that the Bills pick Newton, and I think this comparison is wishful thinking.
  12. Nope nope. Just cause ONE guy changed teams and didn't play as well doesn't prove anything. It was a change of team, he maybe had one good year and cashed in, many possibilities. Of course the scheme matters, but the Bills have so many holes on their defense , that they don't have to define themselves by picking for a scheme, they can put the scheme together based on who they acquire, meaning PICK THE BEST DEFENDER IN THE DRAFT!
  13. It's his high motor
  14. Actually I'm hoping that it doesn't have any influence on the draft. I want them to choose the guy that they think will become the best player, NOT choose a guy because he "fits the scheme". I think you are right, and that they will play a hybrid, and that should allow them to be more flexible as far as who they pick.
  15. All this concern about the scheme! I'm concerned about the players.... If Pittsburgh switched to a 4-3 next year, they would still kick a**. The Bills need to get more defensive talent!
  16. Mike Hamby "keeps it real". Nice article.
  17. I think Dave Wannstedt was one lucky man. He had a team that was loaded with high draft picks, many of which came through a trade that shouldn't have been approved by the NFL. I wonder if Edwards might have had the same kind of success with those Cowboys (I wonder if I might have had the same success with those Cowboys)? I have no great feeling for Edwards, but last season was year one of a complete overhaul of not only the defense, but the most of the organization, and I think anyone in his shoes deserves more time (and at least another draft) before we can make a fair assessment.
  18. Working with this defense will be a lot more difficult that working with a defense as loaded with high picks as the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys. Wannstadt blew as a head coach.
  19. Actually I get a real bad feeling about this. I fear that he is being set up to eventually become the head coach after Gailey. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I was about to post something about Jay Cutler reminding me of Jeff George and I suddenly found this....have some fun reading: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=94719
  21. I see people doing a lot of "projecting" with this story. I think Reilly is a douche (usually his articles are just the opposite, all jock sniff), but it seems apparent that Cutler has some problems. I don't think those problem are "part of what makes him a great/good player", I think he probably has some kind of slight chemical imbalance that can make him act peeveish. I don't really care because he doesn't play for the Bills, and I don't think I will ever have to socialize with him (Reilly, and other media people do). I have only heard/seen negative things about him from many different sources (Urlacher from the start). He is probably everything Reilly says about him.
  22. I would be very happy if they picked Dareus. Great speed! I think they need a big time force on the defense, and will be pissed if they trade out of the 3rd pick.
  23. The real question is "Will the Bills ever beat a Tom Brady/ Bill Belichick Pats team?". NO. As an aside, all this gloating over some other team beating the Patriots (one from the same division no less) is just pathetic.
