  1. No posting during games!!!!!
  2. This post got me watching old Alabama Bennett clips, and remembering how exciting he was in college. He really was Lawrence Taylor-esque when he came out. I mean he was FAST, but hit HARD, with a great knack for big plays. And though his career didn't match LT, he had that kind of career projected. Those kind of guys just don't come along very often, and Patrick Willis was not that kind of prospect going into the draft. He was a #1 overall type pick, for 2 bottom of the 1st round picks, and one at the bottom of the 2nd. The quintessential Biscuit play:
  3. They went to 4 straight Super Bowls, and immediately became contenders after this trade. It was a great trade! They also saved money to pay the guys they already had instead of rookies. I can't see how anyone could retrospectively argue against that trade. This Bills team isn't in the anywhere near the same circumstances that team was. Patrick Willis wouldn't put this team over the top.
  4. Name a "DOMINANT" defense this season? You can't. There aren't any, and likely won't be any because the league rules favor wide-open football. And they still have to keep pace with the other offenses in the league. The Bills need to improve the defense of course, but using their first pick on the 4th or 5th best pass rushing linebacker (a position with high bust rate) might not be the best path. Many of the guys I see mentioned (Courtney Upshaw? Someone thinks that guy will still be on the board!?) won't be available when the Bills pick, so they likely will choose the BPA. They surely need more linebackers if they are going to stay 3-4. I expect them to choose one in the 1st or 2nd rd. I trust that the Bills will know what to do in the draft. I think Buffalo will be much more palatable to free agents than it has been in the past, so I hope they land at least one difference maker through FA.
  5. Most teams are dealing with injuries, and by the end of the year ALL teams are going to have some glaring deficiencies. We shall see how well the Bills respond, but as long as Fitz is the QB, I think the Bills will be in playoff contention because they can score.
  6. I didn't read the article because I don't care what JS thinks. I was against bringing in Merriman, but now I see it as a positive. As far as I'm concerned, considering the huge turnaround the team has made, I give the benefit of the doubt to Nix and Gailey for EVERY decision they have made. Whether it's drafting or cutting players, signing a guy or strategic approaches, these guys have done well enough that I have to believe they have a good reason for any decision they make. Who can really tell how instrumental Merriman may have been in changing the attitude of this team? Or bringing in Nick Barnett? Sullivan's real job is to stir up interest in the Buffalo News and their website. He likely trolls here just to direct people to his own articles.
  7. wow the stupidity. I used a DB as an example because they are FAST(that is Maybin's ONLY asset, I thought that was obvious) and could run a big horseshoe around a blocker to get to the QB. They don't do that though, because it would leave the defense too vulnerable, but they would certainly get an occasional sack if they did. Kelsay isn't fast, but he is a much a more versatile defender than Maybin, even if he does suck.
  8. The Bills (or Jets for that matter) could have a DB line up at rush linebacker, while sending 6 guys at a QB on 3rd & long, and get the results Maybin has (maybe even more).
  9. hahahahaha Yes, you have summed it up well.
  10. Floyd will probably be there, but he is no Calvin Johnson, or a AJ Green, Julio Jones level prospect.
  11. I believe you. That's great. I went to Yahoo, and they have a different total. Congratulations? Do you have a counter to the fact that Maybin was way overpaid on a team that has underpaid stars? Do you not understand how that played abig role in his being cut. Answer please.
  12. Depends who you ask... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/bycategory?cat=Defense&sort=106 There are 4 Jets with 3 sacks each. I think teams have much more to concern themselves with when playing the Jets, so Maybinot has been able to horseshoe to the QB. I don't think he would be effective with the Bills (or most other teams), is that so hard to understand?
  13. Well actually he is tied with one Jamaal Westerman, an undrafted dude from Rutgers. I think the Bills should make a big play to acquire Jamaal, and build a defense that caters to his strength!
  14. You're an idiot. I wasn't suggesting that there was a decision made between Maybin and Florence, but that just because a guy makes a few plays doesn't mean he isn't a liability to the overall defense. People want to bench Florence, even though he made some very big plays, because his overall game has led to some big plays by opponents. And some of the same people are moaning because they cut Maybin, who was making ridiculous money on a team with some way underpaid stars, and is a very limited player. Yes, he runs fast enough to make a horseshoe to the QB every now and then. I think the Bills knew that. Problem is he can't do anything else. And I didn't say that I think sacks aren't important, but that they aren't really the ultimate goal of a defense. I think sacks are great, but a defense that overemphasizes getting sacks can leave themselves vulnerable. The Bills have been taking a different approach than the Jets, the merits of which can be debated. But regardless, I don't think the Bills should have altered their approach because Maybin MIGHT have have been able to get a sack now and then. Have I made myself clear enough? GOOD! I hope he is on the field every defensive snap. I'm sure the Bills staff knows just what to do when he is on the field!
  15. I guess the real question is "How important are sacks?" I don't think Maybin was worth the money, and I don't think sacking the QB is the real objective of the defense. I believe that Maybin was a serious liability to the bills defense, and additionally the wrong kind of guy to have in a lockeroom filled with underpaid stars waiting to get paid. However ironic it might turn out, getting rid of him was the right decision. He isn't worth bickering over. How many people bitching about Maybin being cut, want to run Drayton Florence out of town because he has been on the wrong end of some big plays? He has 2 interception and a TD (bigger plays than sacks to me), is he a liability or are those interceptions more important? Should the Bills have kept Maybin, but cut loose Florence?
  16. Here's one indicator: https://www.facebook.com/MiamiDolphins https://www.facebook.com/newenglandpatriots https://www.facebook.com/SANFRANCISCO49ERS?ref=ts https://www.facebook.com/Raiders https://www.facebook.com/Packers https://www.facebook.com/steelers https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloBills https://www.facebook.com/DallasCowboys I think the numbers fall in line with what someone would expect.
  17. Because they were paying him a load of money and he hadn't done ****! The Jets pay him the league minimum. The Bills have guys like Fred Jackson, Steve Johnson, and Ryan Fitzpatrick TEARING UP THE LEAGUE, all the while being WAY UNDERPAID! Maybin was a JOKE on this team! A guy like that breeds resentment among the underpaid veterans. Additionally, HE SUCKS! He is less than a one-trick pony, he is a half-trick pony! What else do you need to know? Do you have any more questions? I am answering for Nix and Gailey because they have more important things to take care of than stupid questions like this one.
  18. It's really mind-boggling to me that MILLIONS of dollars are at stake and such desperate, silly decisions are made all the time in the NFL. I don't know if CP will eventually work out, but it seems a bit of a long shot. By the time Palmer gets it together (if he does) they will likely be out of the running this season. He has been steadily declining, and I doubt he has his best seasons ahead of him.
  19. Yeah, every week I think "DAMN! I wish the Bills had London Fletcher!".
  20. MONEY. He was making ridiculous money in Buffalo and not doing anything. Bad for the lockeroom, BADBADBAD. The Jets pay him league minimum. He is a very limited player. Sacks aren't everything. Maybe some of you would prefer the Bills find some track star to play rush linebacker, so they can get a few sacks. That would be awesome. Of course the guy would be useless for every other situation, and leave the defense vulnerable. Is there really a long list of these kinds of players? More than most other teams?
  21. Take a look at merchandise sales, and it's pretty clear that the Cowboys have a ton of fans throughout the country. It's likely that you have a very limited social circle.
  22. Did they even work him out before signing him?
  23. I'd rather stand in line at the grocery store than watch MLB.
