  1. I looking to them to find a good free agent lineman and CB, and draft either a top flight WR or OLB. Whichever of those they don't draft first will have to come from a lower pick.
  2. Wake Forest. Mid Tennessee. Duke. Spiller has incredible skills. I don't see many broken tackles, or him taking hits in that video. He is a flanker to me, not a feature back. I hope I'm wrong. He has shown some flashes, I will say that.
  3. They put together a decent line, they just didn't have any depth. There are lots of holes. I think if they can find one new starter on the O-line, they will be alright. The top pick will hopefully yield a top-notch OLB. They are 4 new starters (upgrades) away from a very good team. OLB, CB, WR, OL. It's not an impossible task to fill those holes in one off-season. Of course, they have to be committed to improving though...
  4. I disagree. I think he is doing a good job and that they respond to him. I can tell the difference between this presser and the earlier ones (even after losses) RIGHT AWAY. At this point though, c'mon.....it's over man. The reason they got blown out by the Dolphins is because they realize it's over. We know it's over. They know it's over. The Dolphins, Jets, etc., all know it's over. IT'S OVER!
  5. I watched that, and he seems resigned to the fact that the playoffs are out of reach. He doesn't have the same intensity. I sense he is thinking about next year, and developing the guys that are playing right now. Frankly, I don't blame him, and respect that he is still working on the team, just with different goals. I wonder if the Coach, Owner, Front Office, etc., have had a meeting and agreed to write off the playoffs, and concentrate on player development. Sure feels like it.
  6. I don't think he is a feature back myself, but I just wonder why you WANT him to fail?
  7. It's obvious from the title of the post that you WANT Spiller to fail.
  8. Maybin has been shut out since the game before the Bills game. He is NOWHERE, and he was making to much money to stay on the Bills, bad for the locker room. Think about it a little bit.
  9. I think that goal-line fail told the story. His instincts are to side-step defenders, even at the goal-line. It was right there. He had the forward momentum and some space. He went sideways. I believe he can have some success as a flanker back, but he will never have much success between the tackles.
  10. I was wrong. But what really changed is that it isn't the same players on the field. I still think this team is way better than the 2008 team.
  11. I kind of agree. I don't think the talent level is the worst. I think it is a combination of things. First off, of course is the lack of pass rush. The other thing that gets brought up is that they aren't bumping guys at the line, which can mess with the timing. For most of the players, I think it is a lack of confidence that is leading to them questioning their instincts.
  12. Aw, shucks. So you think with all the video of receptions and misplayed balls these DB's have generated, it never gets brought up? I think the Db's are getting outplayed, and lose their composure while trying to keep up with the receiver.
  13. You think Chan Gailey wouldn't like better players? He has only been here a season and a half. There has a been a tremendous turnover of the roster. They had a great start to the season, and then their lack of depth caught up with them. All this "coach speak" that you want to see enacted is pretty silly. "Why don't they start acting like they are expected to be the best?". Wow, laughable. They did act like that at the beginning of the season, and then they lost some games. This is what a team looks like that "acts like they are expected to be the best" but aren't. This Bills team is EXACTLY THAT! To compare them to the Packers is kind of odd. To be like the Packers or Steelers they need CONTINUITY! That means letting coaches develop, not just firing guys left and right. It should also be noted that the Green Bay Packers were TERRIBLE for decades prior to the arrival of Favre. During my youth they were a JOKE. When does the continuity start? Right now? Right after George Edwards is fired? After Chan is gone? When?
  14. I didn't say that. And Chan didn't say that. he said he was busy so he didn't know exactly who made the mistake that allowed a guy to score. Not a big deal, but some people are grasping for straws for ways to place blame. They need more players. I don't think he is doing nothing, he just isn't telling the press everything he is doing. And I just don't think there is much one can do at this point. They don't have enough good, healthy players. That's why they are losing games. Lots of teams lose games. These Bills won 5, and now they have lost 5. Some teams have lost more than 5. They finished 3rd from the bottom last season. Why are you so shocked that they are struggling?
  15. I think that these guys have been coached all their lives, and that Chan Gailey isn't to blame if they can't remember to turn to the ball. They are PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS. They have been playing the position for many years (aside from George Wilson). I think Chan has other responsibilities to take care. It's the players fault, they are too caught up in the moment, and are panicking. Is he supposed to fire everyone? Point them out to the press? Beat them? None of these are good ways to find replacements for the guys already here. No one would want to join the staff.
  16. As bad as they have played, I think the guys that are playing in place of the starters will get better as the season goes into the last quarter. They will win a few games. I think people are over-reacting. I think the O-line will pull it together when the have Levitre at guard again with Bell/Hairston. They will score some points again. The defense is just gonna suck. I'm hoping that Aaron Williams can get enough experience these next few games to be a reasonable starter next season. Sheppard too. I still think this team when healthy is pretty good, and has made big strides. They need a few key guys, and some of the guys that start now, should be backups next season. All this "laid down" talk is just overwrought to me. Moorman wasn't the only guy that was pissed. Corey Mac is still cool with me! PS- I have lost any faith in Spiller as a feature back. He might be ok in an Eric Metcalf kind of role, but they need to get a new 2nd back next season.
  17. I agree. The starters are pretty good. Need a couple new starters on offense, a few new starters on defense, and some more depth. There are lots of bad teams around the league.
  18. I think the offense can vastly improve with the addition of ONE player, a high quality wide receiver (the O-line needs depth, something they don't need to spend a high draft pick to get). The defense needs a couple high quality guys (OLB and CB), plus some upgrade in the overall front 7 talent. I'm not sure what the draft answer is, but between those 3 positions (WR,CB,OLB) I hope they choose the best talent.
  19. Where was Maybin on that play? Was he on the field? He sack totals have certainly "tailed off" since he got more playing time (zero sacks since then).
  20. Draft the best players. Fill in leftover holes with free agents. Reaching with picks has killed this franchise for years. There are a couple of positions they might wanna pass on, but they have to collect more talent. Do you want the 4th best OLB, or the 2nd best DE? Or the 4th best CB over the 2nd best LT?
  21. The fans don't play the games, we can speculate about any games we want (and it won't effect the games!). It's perfectly natural to post about the Jets the day after they lose a mid-week game without any other games having been played.
  22. Why would you think that? He doesn't have many fumbles, or a reputation for fumbling
  23. Watch this highlight of The Lord being unkind to John Elway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnUxXu5UJ70 As a Timothy non-fan, I think it's great that he is creating problems for other teams, including his own.
  24. Bruce Smith? I think if there is a pass-rushing DE that is outstanding, but no real special talent available at OLB, they should take the DE. I don't think the Bills will have to limit their choices too much though. They just need to pick the best guy available at OLB, DE, CB or WR. There MIGHT be a guy that falls to them at one of these positions, and they should take that player. I just hope they get a player that plays up to their draft position. They should be able to attract a little higher quality free agents to shore up the holes (if they want to) as well.
  25. No. It's the Bills, and only the Bills. I mean it.
