  1. I have been a supporter of Fitz until today. I realized that though he is capable of playing really well, he has a hard time when he gets into a slump. He isn't tough enough mentally to lead a team through a whole season. I have noticed a few times this year where he has childishly whipped the ball at open receivers way too hard, on some critical plays, out of frustration.
  2. Nothing was going to come from that gesture. Fitz isn't going to suddenly become a leader because Jim Kelly (or really anyone else) comes by to give him some encouragement in the current situation (3 ints, down by whatever it was, in the middle of a 7 game losing streak, finishing out a lame duck season). Get real. Plus you don't know what the players/coaches were doing, they just showed it on TV because it was Jim Kelly.
  3. I think Kelly should stay out of it. It's humiliating to have some former player come by, in front of a crowd and on national televsion , grab your head to say "buck up little guy". He isn't a coach, and though many here think it's cool, I bet Jim Kelly wouldn't have liked it if OJ had come over to him, in his first season, to do that after an interception. It's belittling, though I don't think Kelly intended it that way (he just can't help himself).
  4. I believe they will end up picking between 6th and 8th
  5. MATTHEWS' BAG SAYS BILLS WON'T GO AFTER A QB IN THE DRAFT! Is this really news?
  6. I think he has fallen into a bad guy role and likes the attention, so he says thing like that to the media.
  7. Well, first we are arguing if the depth is the problem. I think it is. If we can agree on that, then there can be a logical course of action. One that is a lot different than "let's get a new QB, coach, or switch to 4-3, etc. As Dork and others have said,"injuries are no excuse", but it is a different problem than what so many here feel are the problems.
  8. That's true, but a team that is losing because of a lack of depth has a different kind of problem than teams that just suck. That is what is discussed here, no? We talk about how this team can improve. A team without a QB,without talented starters, a bad coaching staff, lack of skill position people. These are the complaints of many here, but most of the posters on this thread are pointing to DEPTH. Fixing that demands a different approach than overhauling a team, don't you agree Dork? This team has a decent lineup of healthy starters, the best they have had in a very long time.
  9. I believe it's the injuries too. They have to develop depth. People point to other teams that have lost players but still win, but that just seems to underscore that the problem is depth. They have some serious holes too, but a top-shelf outside linebacker would make a big difference. I hope an elite OLB falls to them in the 1st, and then it's all best player available.
  10. Honestly, they could just buy a draft magazine the day of the draft, and just go by their charts. They would do just as well/better than they have for decades. They are wasting money on their whole scouting staff. Just send the coaches to the combine/player days to meet the guys, weed out the guys they don't like, and buy a magazine. I'm not being sarcastic, I mean it.
  11. Take a look at the standings dude. I see 8th, or as high as 6th!
  12. Okay, here's one. "Lossman? He's a winner"
  13. He just isn't calling out players. That is the right way for a coach to handle it. Just fill in the word "players" for the word "answers" and there you have it.
  14. haha! Why are you calculating the pick right now? They will likely have a top 8 pick this draft.
  15. They have sucked for years, and all that losing hasn't led to a better team. I don't think a higher drafting slot will help the organization any. It's a deeper problem. At least winning might help them psychologically.
  16. It's not the 70's anymore. Yes, I was there then, but kicking them now isn't real gratifying.
  17. He still had to complete passes in high pressure situations to make those comebacks work. I don't know what kind of "tradition" he was going to build up when the team is crumbling around him due to injuries. Anyway as I said, it seems pretty clear that QB isn't where the team is going to make changes.
  18. I agree. And bickering about it won't change anything. As long as Gailey is the coach, I believe that Fitz will be the QB, and they will concentrate on improving the rest of the team (as opposed to spending a high pick on a QB).
  19. He led a huge comeback against the Patriots with some "competitive greatness", as well as one against the Raiders. What happened was the injuries destroyed the starting lineup, and the team (which was already lacking defensively) didn't have the depth to continue to compete.
  20. No, let this topic attract as many responses as possible, so we can tell who is brain dead and not have to bother reading or contesting their posts. It's a great litmus test.
  21. I know he was the DC for those completely loaded Cowboys teams that had a head coach that really ran the defense, but I don't know why so much hope is placed on "Wanny" (that overly-familiar, diminutive nickname grates on me for some reason). He accepted a defensive assistant position with the lowly Bills, how much cache in the league could he possibly carry?
  22. I wouldn't be averse to them using the top pick on one, but I don't think they will.
  23. Ha has now been in the league for years and hasn't done ANYTHING. No, I don't think Chan would have made him successful.
  24. They aren't gonna pick a 1st rd QB. Chan has to get the team winning as soon as possible to keep his job, and is "all in" with Fitz.
