  1. I have yet to see Hightower rated any higher than the bottom of the 1st. If you don't like Kuechly, that's fine, but Hightower at 10 would be an unnecessary reach.
  2. Here's a funny post: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2012/3/7/2851941/the-case-against-luke-keuchly
  3. I am just starting to study up on him. There doesn't seem to be great value at LT or WR at the 10th pick. A 3down linebacker would be gold to this defense. if he is as Urlacher-esque as he is being portrayed, it would be silly to just pick the 3rd ranked LT, or a receiver that wouldn't bring a new facet to the offense. His scouting report: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=90802&draftyear=2013&genpos=ILB
  4. I would love a great LT or WR, and I don't think they should do anything but get the BPA. I guess why I posted is because I think if they do go defense, I don't think they need another D-lineman. I'm thinking that the best way to improve what they now have defensively is by adding a 3-down SSLB that is good in coverage (especially to cover TE's) because I expect teams to attack them with quick passes.
  5. Not as well as Kuechly. He is faster, and has better instincts than Hightower. He will be drafted before Hightower. Sure, they could approach it that way too. That could be said about ANY position. But if he is the BPA, he would be a wise choice, because it is a position of need.
  6. Of the of the LB's, the only one that is good is Barnett. Sheppard is unproven, and Morrison is a journeyman. I know what the team needs are, but reaching for a WR or LT is a mistake. I don't think any of the WR that are expected to still be on the board are worthy of the 10th pick (and rookie WR's don't often have an immediate impact), and I don't know what LT will be there at 10.
  7. I hadn't considered Kuechly before. Now I think SSLB is the weakest link on the defense, and he would fit the Bill. A guy that can cover TE's and has great instincts could really solidify the defense. If the pass rush improves as much as we all expect with the addition of MW, teams are gonna be running a lot of short passing routes. Linebacker territory.
  8. The needs of the top ten teams will shift after free agency, and one of the really elite guys might fall to 10. Regardless of position, I think they would select a guy like that(except Richardson). I think they have a handful of guys at different positions, that they will select from, as opposed to "the best LT that falls to us".
  9. That's why you sign them before free agency starts...
  10. He's gonna sign. I think his girlfriend is coming for the press conference...
  11. I understand pride in your city, but none of these players are from Buffalo. Mario Williams is just looking for the best situation for his life. It's not a personal offense to the people of Buffalo. He is from NC I think. The Bills haven't been to the playoffs in a decade, and lost 7 straight games last year. I WOULDN'T SIGN WITH THEM! I would sign with a team that has shown some consistency, for similar money. He doesn't owe the people of Buffalo, or the Bills, ANYTHING. Has he even ever played a game here? He isn't out to offend you personally...
  12. The Washington Redskins usually "win" it. It won't be the end of the Bills season...
  13. All the people involved in these negotiations are adults. They all know the realities of the situation. To speculate about any of this, when none of us truly know the circumstances is silly.
  14. That's a big part of this kind of signing. It raises expectations, and gets a team focused, knowing that they have a real shot at the playoffs....and beyond.
  15. I was thinking this too. A CB or LT. The whole top 10 could be shaken up by free agency. I think they should stick to BPA, but if Bell leaves, it seems pretty likely they will use their 1st on a LT.
  16. Perhaps not, but language is changing so quickly, that you should be more concerned whether YOU will be left behind, unable to interpret the new conventions of the language, than if the next generation isn't speaking the Queen's English.
  17. Great video, thanks for posting that. I wonder how much effect a cracked rib can on mechanics...probably a lot.
  18. So good...no one else thinks like you. You cray-cray!
  19. I'm more concerned that the Bills will have fewer top players at other positions to chose from, because these teams won't be using the picks on QB's! I think that's more the Bills concern too.
  20. If these guys know anything about what they are talking about, Lawson seems to have most of the skills they need in a linebacker (aside from pass rushing, though some of them feel he is capable of it, but wasn't really used that way). http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=433557
  21. That wasn't the point. The point is that people said the same things about Whitner (and many other prospects) and it didn't turn out to be "a good day" like the poster referred to. I don't think the 2 players have anything to do with each other directly, but while all those are nice attributes, I expect those AND MORE from a 10th pick.
  22. Sounds like Donte Whitner...
  23. I'm with ya, but I think people in this thread wanna talk about wide receivers.
