Was anyone there 40 years ago today,,,
PastaJoe replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sat in the top row with my parents. so we could look back at the parking lot. The traffic was so bad there were still cars and buses pulling into the parking lot in the 3rd quarter. I still have the commemorative coin and card they handed out. -
Division rival players on your Fantasy Team ???
PastaJoe replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I pick with my head not my heart. Lately the Bills have been so bad that picking in the division assured me of two games to load up on. Had Tom Brady, Aaron Hernandez, and Pats D last year and won my league. -
I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

Skyler goes to jail for cooking books for Ted. Hank has to let Walt go after finding out how his bills were paid. Walt threatens to say Hank knew and was protecting him. Walt leaves baby with Hank and Marie. Cartel kills Walt Jr and trashes house. Jesse agrees to cook if they leave Walt alone. Walt, hiding in NH, finds out and comes back to stop cook and free Jesse. At end Walt uses ricin on Jesse and self to end both their misery. -
You people are unbelievable. If they didn't take precautions and something happened, you'd be screaming about how they didn't learn from previous attacks. It's hard to tell anymore if you're just whining because of your Pavlov response to anything Obama does, or you're truly delusional.

I felt bad for the guy who got a bad sunburn on the first day, that's how I burn. But I don't get why he didn't make a covering out of big leaves on the first day, especially for his sunburned junk. And after a few days they find some clothing on a remote island? How is that allowed? They should have to make their clothes.

Edward Snowden: Hero or Traitor?
PastaJoe replied to CosmicBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If you want to promote anarchy, that's your business. But you talk about rule of law and the Constitution, then complain about the legal program that was made legal by our elected officials, and have not been ruled unconstitutional. Until such time when they are made illegal by our elected officials or ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, they are legal. And if he took an oath to not disclose, he broke the law and should be prosecuted. Your not liking it doesn't make the program illegal or unconstitutional. But you and he are free to break any law you want, just be ready for the consequences. -
Edward Snowden: Hero or Traitor?
PastaJoe replied to CosmicBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Do you have proof that it has been used as a weapon to harm citizens, as opposed to a method to protect them from those that would do harm to citizens? The government has many potential ways to harm citizens, but that doesn't mean they use them. We allow police to carry guns which could potentially harm citizens, that doesn't mean they will. This program has bipartisan support and oversight in Congress, and they have said it has saved lives. I've yet to see any proof that it has been used as a weapon against innocent civilians. And don't give me 'by looking at phone numbers they hurt me' baloney. -
Edward Snowden: Hero or Traitor?
PastaJoe replied to CosmicBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Definitely not a hero, but I wouldn't say he's a traitor either, because he didn't directly aid an enemy of the U.S., like Oliver North did with Iran. Most likely a criminal who should be put in prison to dance the pole like his superhero girlfriend. -
Obama signs Warrantless FISA bill
PastaJoe replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What is being done is legal, approved by Congess which also has oversight, and needs approval by a FISA court. So it's consistent with his statement to end illegal activity. And if you paid attention you would know that he wants to close Gitmo, and bring the detainees to US courts and prisons, but to date has been blocked by Republicans in Congress. Again consistent with earlier statements. But don't let facts get in the way of your beliefs. Carry on with your fantasy camp. -

Lindy Ruff: might he have found his team?
PastaJoe replied to Buftex's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think the Vancouver job is a better option. Better players and he's from western Canada. Plus I wonder if he would move his family with him, which could determine where he'd go. -

Ah yes, the last refuge of those who can't debate the facts; the personal insult. Class act. -
Obama Losing The Washington Post?
PastaJoe replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Osama Bin Laden dead. Eliminated several other Al-Qaeda leaders by focusing military and intelligence assets, including an expanded drone policy. Ended the War in Iraq. Begun the drawdown of forces from Afghanistan. Enacted policies to stop the financial crisis and stabilize and grow the economy. Ended Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) in our military. Stopped defending DOMA in court. Passed the Hate Crimes bill. Appointed two progressive women to the Supreme Court. Expanded access to medical care and provided subsidies for people who can't afford it. Expanded the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Fixed the preexisting conditions denials in health insurance. Created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Overhauled the credit card industry, making it more consumer-friendly. Effectively mobilized the federal gov't on the BP oil spill, and held the oil industry accountable. Did the same in response to Hurricane Sandy, just ask Gov Christie and Rep King. And many of these accomplishments were done despite having to deal with obstructionist Republicans in Congress. -
Justice Dept. Secretly Grabs AP Phone Records
PastaJoe replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And a good explanation of how this is being blown out of proportion by the media, and shows the hypocrisy of Republicans who have complained that security leaks need to be more vigorously investigated. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/21/opinion/stop-the-leaks.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&_r=0 "At the time the article was published, there were strong bipartisan calls for the Justice Department to find the leaker. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. gave that assignment to Ronald C. Machen Jr., the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, who is known for his meticulous and dedicated work. Importantly, his assignment was to identify and prosecute the government official who leaked the sensitive information; it was not to conduct an inquiry into the news organization that published it. His office, which has an experienced national security team, undertook a methodical and measured investigation. Did prosecutors immediately seek the reporters’ toll records? No. Did they subpoena the reporters to testify or compel them to turn over their notes? No. Rather, according to the Justice Department’s May 14 letter to The A.P., they first interviewed 550 people, presumably those who knew or might have known about the agent, and scoured the documentary record. But after eight months of intensive effort, it appears that they still could not identify the leaker. It was only then — after pursuing “all reasonable alternative investigative steps,” as required by the department’s regulations — that investigators proposed obtaining telephone toll records (logs of calls made and received) for about 20 phone lines that the leaker might have used in conversations with A.P. journalists. They limited the request to the two months when the leak most likely occurred, and did not propose more intrusive investigative steps." -

Make it like the old Superstars show; weightlifting, obstacle courses, sprints, and outrigger canoe races in the ocean. -
What argument did I lose? You're hallucinating.

The nature of war in WWII between nations is totally different than the sectartian violence within the colonial borders of countries in the Middle East. You can't compare them. If not for oil and Israel, we would treat the Middle East like we do wars in Africa. It's always been about economics and politics, regardless of political party.

'Gregory Hicks, the No. 2 U.S. diplomat in Libya the night Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed, was to be the star witness for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the man leading the probe of the Obama administration’s handling of the attack on the diplomatic outpost in Benghazi. But despite Issa’s incautious promise that the hearing’s revelations would be “damaging” to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Hicks didn’t lay a glove on the former secretary of state Wednesday. Hicks was of little use to Republicans in their efforts to connect the lapses in the Benghazi response to Clinton or to the Obama White House. He said that he spoke to Clinton by phone at 2 a.m. that night and that she supported his actions. He undermined one of Issa’s claims — that Clinton had rejected an increase in security for the Libya facilities — when he agreed that the secretary of state’s name appears on all cables, even if she doesn’t write them.' http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-whistleblowers-yarn-fails-to-tie-benghazi-lapses-to-politics/2013/05/08/fb436cd4-b82e-11e2-b94c-b684dda07add_story.html
