  1. Oh Ben, you should have stayed asleep. He has a penchant for using slavery for comparisons, this time to immigrants. In his first speech as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson likened slaves forced to come to America to immigrants seeking a better life. “That’s what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity,” Carson told hundreds of federal employees Monday. “There were other immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships, who worked even longer, even harder, for less, but they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land,” Carson added. This is not the first time Carson has likened something to slavery. During an interview with NBC in 2015, he compared abortion to slavery. “During slavery — and I know that’s one of those words you’re not supposed to say, but I’m saying it — during slavery, a lot of the slave owners thought that they had the right to do whatever they wanted to the slave,” he said. “What if the abolitionists had said, ‘I don’t believe in slavery, I think it’s wrong, but you guys do whatever you want to do’?” At the Values Voter Summit in 2013, Carson called ObamaCare the worst thing “since slavery.” “It is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care,” Carson aid. “It was about control.” http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/06/carson-equates-slaves-to-immigrants-social-media-blasts-comment.html
  2. "IRS targeting political opponents" was never ordered or approved by Obama, Benghazi was not a scandal and would never been an issue if Hillary wasn't running, "mean spirited evictions" WTF?, and "shutdowns during government shutdown", shocking that shutdowns would occur when Congress cut off funding. Trump knew that Flynn was compromised and open for blackmail according to the IC, and had lied to VP Pence, but waited two weeks until the scandal became public before deciding Flynn had to go to save face. Otherwise he may still be the NSA.
  3. So Muslim travel ban 2.0 didn't get the big televised Trump roll out like 1.0. So when he has to admit he was wrong he leaves it to his minions to make the presentation. A Rex Tillerson sighting, after breaking precedent and being a no-show last week for the State Dept. annual human rights report. Muslim travel ban 2.0 won't take effect until March 16 (assuming it's now constitutional), and now doesn't include Iraq. So based on Trump's previous statements on the urgency of the issue, we should expect some bad dudes coming into the country this week.
  4. I support an independent commission like for 9/11 that investigates ALL possible interference in our elections. Investigate Trump, Clinton, and anyone else that could have ties. It's more important than party affiliation. Will you agree?
  5. So you don't think Russian interference in our election process and possible ties to Trump associates is a detrimental relationship that should be investigated, as well as Trump's business ties to Russia? Trump could clear a lot up by listing all his associates who have had contact with Russians, and release his tax returns.
  6. After Trump tweeted last week for rallies of support, "Maybe the millions of people who voted to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN should have their own rally. It would be the biggest of them all!", yesterday was "March 4 Trump" day. The Yuge event attracted not millions or hundreds of thousands, but a few thousand across the country. Sad!
  7. So there must be plenty of "bad dudes" coming Into the country today ahead of the new Muslim ban. Didn't Trump say it was supposed to be a secret without warning so they wouldn't pour in beforehand. Hopefully this time they created one that's constitutional.
  8. Obama was born in Kenya. Thousands of Muslims in New Jersey were celebrating after 9/11. 3 million illegal voters in the election. His sleeve must be Yuge to carry all that proof. This thread is redundant with the alternative facts thread.
  9. So you're ok that it was also only white males.
  10. Trump got bored and has moved on to tweet about Arnold: "Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't voluntarily leaving the Apprentice, he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show."
  11. Trump tweeted it so it must be true. Another shiny object to try to distract from the Russian scandal. Sad!
  12. Starting next year you could take a Sabres road trip to see the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Las Vegas Bills.
  13. Where the hell is the revised constitutional travel ban? We were told this was a top priority and needed immediately to keep the terrorist hordes of refugees out. Trump is letting the bad hombres pour into the country. Bad!
  14. How appropriate and timely, the tv show The Americans starts their new season this Tuesday.
  15. Already a broken promise by Trump to steel workers. “We put you heavy into the pipeline business because we approved, as you know, the Keystone Pipeline, but they have to buy ... steel made in this country and pipelines made in this country,” Trump told U.S. Steel Chief Executive Mario Longhi at a Feb. 23 meeting. The Keystone XL Pipeline will not be subject to President Donald Trump's executive order requiring infrastructure projects to be built with American steel, a White House spokeswoman said today. Trump signed the order calling for the Commerce Department to develop a plan for U.S. steel to be used in “all new pipelines, as well as retrofitted, repaired or expanded pipelines” inside the U.S. projects “to the maximum extent possible.” By the White House’s judgment, that description would not include Keystone XL, which developer TransCanada first proposed in 2008. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/keystone-pipeline-buy-american-exemption-235639
  16. They're lucky they weren't at a full service station and sitting in the car. Did a NYS law change this year allowing for the hands-free auto-shutoff pump handle flap thingy? It used to be disabled on pump handles in NYS, but it worked in NJ.
  17. Too cute by half. He recused himself from any "Trump campaign" investigation, but not for the time after the election and before the inauguration, when the Flynn scandal occurred surrounding Russian sanctions. Another reason to believe something illegal occurred in that timeframe. The most upset person in Washington has to be Trump, who once again has been upstaged by a controversy by one of his minions.
  18. Say focused kids, the issue is lying under oath. A president was impeached, not because of what he did, but because he lied under oath.
  19. March 17, 2016: Donald Trump’s senior policy adviser Stephen Miller is explaining the detailed role Sen. Jeff Sessions will play as chairman of Trump’s Foreign Policy Advisory Committee. “The news that I’m here to tell you about tonight,” Miller said on The Kelly File, “is that Senator Sessions is the Chairman of his Foreign Policy Committee. For first time, Miller detailed the effort Sessions has poured into this new role. “Jeff Sessions has been meeting for hours now putting together a team of foreign policy advisers, military experts, [and] intelligence experts,” Miller said. “I had a chance to speak to Sen. Sessions today and his military advisers for about half an hour before coming here and we discussed some robust foreign policy ideas.” Miller informed viewers that Trump has “sat down with Senator Jeff Sessions and has spoken about these [foreign policy] issues at length.” http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/03/17/trump-campaign-releases-new-details-about-sessions-role-as-foreign-policy-adviser/
  20. Always good to have multiple sources, Meathead. The next question is, given that Reince Priebus said they investigated and found no one connected to the Trump campaign spoke to the Russians, was he lying or was he deceived by Sessions ala the VP and Flynn. Either excuse is not good for the already poor credibility of the administration. Keep pulling the threads...
  21. At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, under oath Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign. "I'm not aware of any of those activities", he responded. He added: "I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians." That was a clear statement under oath, a perjury offense that at the very least should require Sessions to recuse himself from further investigations into the Trump-Russia election scandal, and another reason why a special procescutor should be appointed.
