Candy came from out on the island
In the backroom, she was everybody's darlin'
But she never lost her head
Even when she was givin' head
She says, "Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side"
Said, "Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side"
My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, dad"
"You know I'm gonna be like you"
I can tell you want me, (my sugar walls) it's impossible to hide
Your body's on fire, admit it, come inside (my sugar walls)
Ah (my sugar walls) oh
Come inside (my sugar walls), my sugar walls (my sugar walls)
Come spend the night inside my sugar walls (my sugar walls)
Cover me when I run
Cover me through the fire
Something knocked me out' the trees
Now I'm on my knees
Cover me, darling please, hey
Monkey, monkey, monkey
Don't you know when you're going to shock the monkey
We all came out to Montreux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa and the Mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky
Smoke on the water
We used to all go to one of my sisters in Buffalo. But my wife and I are in Syracuse, our son is in Boston, my last surviving uncle died in April from Covid, my 89 year old mother lives alone, and my sister who we’d go to was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. So it’s very unlikely that we can get together unless through Zoom.
We're talkin' baseball!
Kluszewski, Campanella.
Talkin' baseball!
The Man and Bobby Feller.
The Scooter, the Barber, and the Newc,
They knew 'em all from Boston to Dubuque.
Especially Willie, Mickey, and the Duke.
