Per Rotoworld: Rams/Jets exchange trade ideas
Sherman replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope the Jets get Matt Ryan. From what I understand he is a very good leader but throws alot of interceptions. Hello John Kitna. Also, KC is on record as saying they wouldn't mind having up to 15 picks in the draft because they need more players. A QB should be available for where they pick in round 2. -
Philly may trade with the Saints at 10 and take Devin Thomas?
Sherman replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clady is said to have the best footwork for pass blocking. Philly is a pass first offense. Clady would be a good fit there but I think Otah or Albert is the man they want. their line is big guys who can physically manhandle light DE's. -

The other OT for the Eagles is John Runyan. He is also in his late 30's. Justice was drafted to replace one of them. -
More Mis-Information? Or Buttering Up the Fans for the Pick?
Sherman replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I forget where I read or heard it but I remember the saying, 'If the guy you are targeting is available at the time you pick, get them. Why trade down and take the chance of him not being there because someone in the press will call it a reach.' To me what the Bills do revolves around that statement. I think they have someone in mind and they will take him. Don't get me wrong in my mind I have come up with several scenarios allowing us to get several impact players. Swap with Eagles pick up Shepard, swap with Vikings pick up Burk and others but at the end of the day I think the Bills will take the guy that they have targeted. -
I'm glad they like our draft but ESPN sucks. I can't stand them. They hate the Bills, cater to big market teams and show no hockey. I watch NFL Network, NHL Network and check the baseball scores on ESPN News. I'll watch the entire draft on NFL Network.

I heard him on Sirius the other day. He had alot of personal issues the last two years. Not character issue problems but sick child problems that had him unable to concentrate with football. If I remember correctly his child is healthy and he wants to play for another year or two. That being said, I 've always thought he was underrated. I would take him for a #2 for now. Trade Josh Reed if you can get something for him.

Williams had the combine to thank for his draft position. I remember when he was drafted him all they could talk about was his speed.

We trade for Lito Shepard and swap #1's. Here is what is said after that quote in PFW. "The way we hear it, the Eagles still have some confidence in Winston Justice after he finished the season on a strong note, showing some promise in the final two games. Furthermore, team president Joe Banner does not like to give up on players until they have played at least three years. However, Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan are both among the league's oldest starters at their positions and are expected to have to be replaced in the near future. Should Pittsburgh OT Jeff Otah, who strongly fits the mauling style of linemen sought by Reid, slide into the early teens, sources say that the Eagles could be ready to pounce." Alot of mock drafts have OT's being selected by the three teams behind us. Philly will use Shepard and our need for a CB to trade up. We can still move down and get a WR. It doesn't sound like we are sold on anyone that high at #11. Would you rather draft a CB at #11 or get a two time pro bowler. If this scenario presents itself I hope we jump.

How about Lito Shepard and their #1 for our #1. That would give Shepard the value of a 2nd round pick.

What I would like to see the Bills do now on draft day
Sherman replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only problem with your Minnesota scenario is that Denver is not likely to take a DE. Typically if teams want to trade up they do it in front of a team they feel will take the player they targeted. I think someone moving in front of Denver for an OT or RB would make more sense. -
Could he or Butler be converted to center?
-
The Bills are the first team projected to draft a WR. Philly has an asset in Lito Sheppard that can be traded as round 2 value or the equivalent to up from their #19 to #10 or 11. If the Saints, a team that needs a CB does that deal the Eagles will have their pick of WR's. They could also deal Shepard to us because we have also been projected to draft a CB. It is going to be interesting. One thing is for sure living in the Philly area these fans are starved for a playmaker at WR. My guess, Philly is eyeing Devin Thomas because they need help in the return game too.

Is this possible? Best draft scenario
Sherman replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My hope is that their are a few top OT's still on the board and Chicago or Detroit want to trade up. In most of the mock drafts I see OT's are going to those teams that are behind us. My other dream scenario is that the Vikings trade Matt Birk to swap picks. We would most likely need to give up a later round pick but it would be worth it. That being said if the Bills have their sights set on a guy they will take him. -

If we have not taken a reciever and Kelly is on the board someone would probably trade with the team in front of us to take him. It is alot easier to trade in round 2 than it is in round 1. -
Are there any good center's, or guard's that can move to center, in the draft? I think this is the weakest part of the Bills offense. I know we need a #2 reciever, and that will addressed in the draft too, but if our line has a weakness it is the center. Our division is all 3-4 defenses and Fowler was overpowered by Wilfork last year. I don't think he has a chance against Kris Jenkins or Jason Ferguson either. Until we correct that we will get stopped on 2nd and short or 3rd and short every time. Fowler isn't strong enough. He would make a good backup though.

5 players who will be drafted too high
Sherman replied to DreamOnDan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like Pete Metzalars. -
Otah upgrade to Butler and eventual successor to Walker Merling/Harvey - Better than Kelsay/Denney We upgrade at important positions and create depth with palyers that have experience. Also, they may be the best players available at that point.

Malcolm Kelly a 2nd rounder now.............
Sherman replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm hoping someone trades up for an OT. Some Mock drafts have Denver, Chicago and Detroit all taking linemen or 2 of the 3. If Clady or Otah are there someone may trade up for them. -
Round 1-Otah/Merling or Harvey Round 2-Kelly

Does anyone know if he still together with the girl? I'm curious what has happened since. This could have been a big drunk college argument where things were blown out of proportion. The article doesn't mention anthing wrong with the baby. I find it hard to believe that a 6 foot 7 two sport college star wouldn't leave some kind of mark if he abused the baby in any way. I also find it hard to believe the cops or reporter would fail to put that information into the article. Playing devils advocate.
-
Does anyone actually know what happened? During his interview on Sirius I was under the impression he pushed his girlfriend and he has a baby. He was remorseful for that incident and nothing like that has happened since. I didn't take it as he was beating up a baby.

Malcolm Kelly on Sirius this morning
Sherman replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't this exact scenario play out a few years ago? Who did we draft with Halati Nagota and Broderick Bunkley on the board? Wasn't it Evans? -
I heard one of his Sirius interviews where he spoke about the assult. He said it is behind him and he does have some growing up to do but he seemed ashamed and embarased of his actions. I think he was sincere. The 1 year old is only a negative if he shut him out of his life. If he is a part of the kids life in some way then I would say he is growing up and that ould go along way to help clear up any character issues..

I understand your point but a wide reciever could help us beat Tom Brady in two scenarios. 1) Converting 3rd downs - keeps Tom Brady off the field. 2) Help us get a lead and the defense can send the rush.
