  1. It's the text and twitter age. It's basically just shorthand - any secretary from more than 20 years ago would have been paid big bucks to write like that and be able to decipher it afterwards.
  2. Peerless Price Edit: Damn, too late on this
  3. There's nothing funny about ugly strippers. This just occurred to me: aren't their a disproportionate number of ex-Bills players becoming writers or broadcasters and whatnot? I can think of the following: Bucky Brooks (drafted to WR and switched to CB? or vice versa?) Ross Tucker Matt Bowen (from Nationalfootballpost) Tasker I think there are a couple more that escape me now...
  4. Your post was too wordy to read and I didn't like it until I read the bolded line, which made it all worth it - good comedic timing.
  5. I think he was trying to say that we need to run the ball and use the short passing game in a high tempo to setup a few deep strikes. Honestly, we would do well to take a page out of the early 00's Pats*, when they just ran the ball and threw screens and short routes for the entire game.
  6. It's hard not to like Jabari after what he went thru to make the team. As far as this year's team, I like the secondary, the RBs and WRs, and surprisingly, the d-line. I think they are going to open some eyes this year (as far as Bills fans I mean). They have talent on paper and as long as they stay healthy, they should be better than any d-line we've seen here in the past 3 or 4 years.
  7. It's scary that I'm not the only one who has had this thought. I wonder if he's going to grow a beard and start cleaning up the twin cities after he loses his starting job.
  8. Good info - it sounds like it's setup more like a mixer with output channels that split the incoming feed.
  9. Thanks for the answer. Can you crack the receiver to get multiple channels or do you have to get another one (or something to function as such)? Anyone know if it's easy to crack into?
  10. I'd like to throw a few eggs at her. I won't call her names, but she is the worst.
  11. So while we're on the subject, I wanted to ask a D-TV/Sunday Ticket question to those of you who might have it. In subscribing, are you able to watch multiple games if you have more than one TV? Say I have two TVs hooked up to it and want to watch two 1 PM games without switching back and forth - can I do it? Thanks
  12. If he does leave after this season and signs a decent deal with another team, we should get a pretty high comp pick in the 2010 draft.
  13. They break camp during the pre-season... We should have three games during camp and two outside of camp.
  14. Definitely agree. He was good, but never really that great. I thought Youboty was the best DB on the team until he went down last year and obviously McKelvin has talent, it just remains to be seen when he will put it together.
  15. Didn't the 7th rounder get a bigger deal?
  16. I definitely agree with that. Most places in the US are chains or box stores. In Europe everything is family- or small group- owned. The charm is nice (not always the cleanest places - I had to crap into a hole in the floor, while holding onto what was left of the stall for balance in a certain Amsterdam building). Buffalo is definitely very similar in the sense that there aren't a lot of box stores and chains (though more than in an average European city).
  17. Interesting stuff.
  18. I don't think he needs to learn how to take a hit, he needs to learn how to avoid the hit. One thing I noticed from him - which could be good or bad - is that he seems to be trying to impress his teammates with how tough he is. I think we can agree that trent is not a tough football player - he's not a wuss, but he's not going to break Brett Farve's consecutive games for a QB record. As a result, he should learn that he can better serve the team by making sure he plays all 16 games rather than leap into the endzone for a TD. Sometimes he seems afraid to make a mistake (i.e. quick to dump off, not readily throwing into coverage, etc), which might just go away once he is more comfortable in his skin.
  19. I'm pretty sure the play called for hitting the hot route when it looked like a blitzer came free. If I remember correctly, Trent saw Wilson coming, but held on to the ball a little longer to try to make the play to the hot route. Can't remember if he hit it, but I think that's what happened.
  20. They probably figured that since they play a lot of defense with three safeties on the field they could use all three at the same time. Also, witht he expectation that Ko Simpson can't play in our defense and will be cut, they needed someone besides George Wilson to play the FS spot. Whitner can basically play nickle corner, SS, or FS, so it's not like one o fthem has too sit - they can both be on the field at the same time. In addition, we have heard time and again that the two safety spots are pretty much interchangeable in this defense. Add to that Byrd's scouting report that says he can take the ball away, but is physical for a guy his size and you could see why they wanted him. I thought they were going to take Brown too and was very surprised at this pick, but th emore I thought about it, the more it made sense to me. We took Maybin at 11 and still have Ellis from last year (as well as the three old guys and Copeland). When you decided not to/couldn't trade Kelsey, then it's tough to take Brown and then have to decide which ones to let walk instead of which one. Also, there is no guarantee that either Brown or Maybin will be able to do anything as rookies, so why take a chance on having two developmental projects. The safety positions seem to be easier to grasp for the more "heady" players right out of college.
  21. I agree with your points about how they could be very good on offense. I will say that in our division, when the 3-4 teams go to nickle or dime, they usually play a conventional set with 4 down linemen and two linebackers (or one linebacker with his hand on the ground). I think the bigger advantage the Bills have in running out of the spread sets is that they have a 3rd WR - Josh Reed - who can block any DB in the league, which allows us to run out of the 3 WR set as if we had two TEs on the field.
  22. I think it's gotta be Florence. You just don't cut a fourth year player who can play to keep a vet on the team to sit and watch. They had no problem cutting Will James last year and I don't think anyone in the organization sees Florence as anythign more than a guy to have in case someone gets hurt. If he was going to play one of the top three spots, I would say he stays, but since that looks like a long shot barring injuries, I'd bet he's out if Lankister stays. They always wanted a guy who they could count on the play the nickel role and when Youboty proved capable before injury last season and Corner seems capable this season, I can't see why you'd hang on to him. It's possible he wouldn't even dress, depending on what he does on ST.
  23. I don't know if it was a botch - they had the trade worked out, but there was a bonus due to him if he was still on the team at a certain time and the Bills didn't want to pay it. They had the trade worked out the day before the bonus was due, but then cut him when the trade didn't happe in time to have Detriot pay the bonus. They probably would rather have had the extra cash than the late-round pick.
