The front office did the right thing. You can't let the inmates run the aslyum. If they would have caved in to Peters' demands, how many more players would do the same thing and hold out for more money?
-
I'm with you, brother...
Same here, I'm even more pumped after hearing that Peters is finally showing up.
-
Now we only need to squeeze ONE monster game from the Walker-Chambers combo. Whew!
Next, the Seahakws.
After that, a contract for Lee Evans... and yes, Peters.
The Bills will wait on Peters' deal after Evans is done. I think Evans will have a new contract by the end of the season.
GO BILLS!!!!!

I figured Peters would report this week, I'm just surprised he's waiting until the last day before the season starts. The news about Crowell sucked, but this news is definitely uplifting. I'm very interested in hearing from Peters about why he sat out for so long.

From Chris Brown (bb.com):
POZ ON HIS ANKLE: Middle linebacker Paul Posluszny practiced fully on Friday after sitting out Thursday with an ankle injury. Posluszny confirmed after Friday’s practice that he’s ready to go for Sunday.
“It was just a little tweak nothing major,” said Posluszny. “One day off was all I needed and now it’s completely back to normal.”
Spencer Johnson also practiced fully. Derek Fine and Matt Murphy were the only non-participants. Blake Costanzo practiced after being re-signed and could play on special teams Sunday according to head coach Dick Jauron.

We would have been higher but someone must have come by here and seen all of the "fans" giving up because our LB has a hurt knee. I usually think we have one of the best fan bases in football but when I see bandwagon jumpers saying the team might as well give up and move out of Buffalo because one guy won't show up and another is out for the season, it doesn't seem that way.
I agree. You have your bandwagon fans, and the one's that believe we're still a mediocre football team and will still be a below .500 team. We're gonna do great this year, and I still feel we'll be a 10-6 to 11-5 team.

ESPN's Matt Mosley and their army of NFL bloggers ranked NFL fans. Buffalo came in at 11.
1. Steelers
2. Packers
3. Browns
4. Eagles
5. Chiefs
6. Skins
7. Broncos
8. Pats
9. Raiders
10. Giants
11. Bills
Note, however, the Bills received a "score" of 16, as did the three teams in front of them. So essentially a tie for 8th, but separated by some random ESPN "tiebreaker."
My only gripe? ESPN had a "Loyal" category defined as: Loyalty when team sucks (Loyal): You score points with us if you stick with a loser.
Buffalo scored a "3" on a scale of 1 (best) to 5 (worst). Considering seasons ticket sales in recent years, I'd score us at LEAST a 2 if not a 1... which could have moved us up to 6th.

We should be at least 4th on the list.

If the Bills go 7-9 or less, Jauron will be gone. Otherwise he'll be staying put.
-
Bills 31
Seahawks 17
The offense will put together a couple of long time consuming drives, followed by some deep passes later on in the game. The defense will be solid and force Hassellbeck to use his rookie WR's to try and beat us. Good returns will help us get good field position.

once a marine always a marine, people say im nuts when one of my biggest regrets was going to college and not the marines
I'm still trying to finish college, so don't feel bad.

I'm Station in Beaufort right now. I'm the Operations Cheif here and at the Parris Island PMO's.
That's awesome!!! I went to P.I. on my way down to Disneyworld last year. It was my first time there since boot camp in 96', a lot has changed on base since then.

Crowell's career is done in Buffalo. The Bills made that very clear by placing him on the ir rather than let him rehab and come back in 4 or 5 weeks. Now we know where the Bills will look in the 1st round next year and see who they will team with Poz and Mitchel for 09.
Crowell cant be that dumb or can he? Why do you wait until a few days before the season to anounce that you are having surgery? He let down his teammates. I like how the Bills acted quickly and Im sure Crowell never would have thought things would have played out like this. This along with how the Bills are handling the Peters situation sends a very loud message that they are in charge- not the players.
I agree 100% Peters is just as dumb!
-
I think the Bills are seriously P.O.'d at Crowell for waiting this long to have surgery, especially 3 days before the season opener. Crowell missed the 1st pre-season game because of his knee, and I'm sure the Bills feel if he needed surgery, he should have done it when he knew he wasn't going to make the 1st pre-season game.
I was extremely optimistic going into the season, this puts a big damper on my optimism.

Hey i'm an MP
Awesome! Where are you (or were) stationed at? What MP class were you?
-
The Vikes, Eagles & Packers are all in this clown's top 10, are you serious!!??
-
anywhere between 8-16 is my bet
That sounds like a good prediction.

Just in, John Clayton admits to be suffering from shrunkenhead and bug-eyed syndrome. More news to come.
-
Absolutely beautiful!!! I want both for Christmas!

I haven't seen anyone say we can't beat the Seahawks. I think the Seahawks will be a good test for our improved Defense and Offense. It will give an indication as to where we will stand for the rest of the season.
On realfootball365.com, there's a comment section after the article. There are a few there that think we will lose, and we'll finish 7-9 - 8-8.
I think we'll win 31-13, and we'll destroy the NFC West again like we did 4 years ago.

I have to travel on Sunday, Sept 14th to Yuma, AZ. Anyone know of any bars out there that will be playing the game? Thanks!

4341, combat correspondent (Pvt. Joker for the leyman). I was only in 2 years, 99-01. Medically seperated due to some pretty $#!tty knees.
Ouch!!! Sorry to hear that.

I'm out now. Got out in 2001. Was stationed at MCB Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay.
That's cool, what was your MOS?
I was in from 96'-00', and got recalled from 02'-05'. I was orginally a 5811 (M.P.), first stationed in Okinawa, then twice at Quantico, VA. I went back to regular active duty in 05', and had to do a LAT move to 7212 (L.A.A.D. Gunner), and was stationed at Cherry Point, NC (hated my unit and Cherry Point). I got medically separated last June from multiple foot & ankle injuries. Now, I'm a civilian contractor working for the Marines, so I can't get away from them, lol.
-
Yup. Was looking at nflshop.com for some stuff for my wife and happened upon that. Sure as hell made my day.
That's awesome!! Alyssa looks great in the Bills sweatshirt.
devldog131, how long have you been in the Marines for, and were are you stationed at?
What decade was the best for watching NFL football ?
