I'd start building up both offensive and defensive lines through the draft and FA. Bringing in a QB like Cassell would be a good idea, that way you could draft a good offensive lineman first (like Miami did) instead of using it for a QB (Joey Harrington). The Lions already have enough WR's, so they don't need anymore via draft. I'd wait until the following year to draft a RB (possibly in the 1st round, depending on who's available in the draft).

Pete Rose gambled on baseball on got banned for life. Vick had a dog-fighting operation, bet money on the fights and inhumanely tortured and killed underperforming dogs. As a former Animal Control Officer, I think that's disgusting and repulsive. It's one thing to get a DWI, get in a fight at a club (or where ever), but what Vick & his cronies did was inexcusable. He lied to Falcons owner, Arthur Blank and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He deserves to get banned from the NFL for life. Pete Rose got banned just for betting, Vick deserves more than that.

Whether Schobel comes back or not, he wasn't a difference maker this year when he was healthy. The Bills FO needs to make serious upgrades at the DE position in the offseason.

Detroit will lose 44-9. I'd wish the Lions would quit playing games on Thanksgiving.

I've been saying the same things as well. Our DE's suck at pass rushing. If you give a good QB time to throw, he'll eat up your offense just like Brady did last year & Warner did this year. P.S.- you have to remember to say you'll sign DE's before you cut anyone, otherwise you have some braindead posters giving you crap about cutting players before signing new one's.

I will give credit to Schobel & Denney, both are good at defending against the run. But the DE's main job is to put pressure on the QB, and neither one has done a great job of it the last 2 years (even when Schobel was healthy last year & this year). No QB pressure means good QB's in the league will continue to make plays and eat our defense up (See the Cards game & our 3 division losses).

Our DE's suck, bottom line. Kelsay & Denney are 3rd stringers, not 2nd stringers or starters. If we cut Schobel, we're gonna take a big hit with the salary cap issues. So if we trade him or package him in on a trade, then we won't take such a hit. Yes, Schobel is the best DE we have, but he's currently not playing and hasn't played for a while, and when he was healthy, he hasn't done anything since the 06' season. So in that regard, is he really worth $7 million a year? You are right, the Bills need to wait and get players to fill the positions before they start cutting people loose. But DE is our biggest weakness on the team.

Peppers would be a great addition to our team. I think Denney & Kelsay should be cut loose after the season.

The Bills need to win out. Even at 10-6, we will lose any tiebreakers with the other AFC teams since we already are 4-4 in the conference & 0-3 in the division.

Schobel had 5 or 6 sacks last year, and didn't do much this year when he was healthy. For a guy that makes $7 million a year, you expect a hell of a lot more in return. I don't know why Schobel hasn't been placed on IR? Any word on his injury? Is he's close to coming back? My point on Schobel is we're shelling out a ton of money to him, one- he hasn't earned it, I thought he was overpaid when given the contract extension (I'm not saying he's a bad player, but not worth the $49 million contract he got), two- he possibly is damaged goods with his inury.
