  1. Met Joe D years ago in TOPS check out line in East Aurora--his ketchup was next to our cereal....
  2. Advice for Mr. and Mrs. Weber: Go in the bathroom, look in the mirror and repeat the following, "When did I get so stupid?"
  3. Screw the NFL. If they don't want bags there, I'll leave her home....
  4. I always suspected I should have been sitting on the other side of the table....
  5. A way to resolve the dilemma is for the betrothed to include a spread sheet with the invitation. Revenues, expenditures, long-term debt, reserve fund total, etc. would be good things to know when shopping for a gift for the happy couple.
  6. There are an infinite number of opinions along the continuum of concern when going to an NFL game. OP's is one of them and deserves a hearing and consideration...then choose whether or not to make a decision based on it. OP deserves a hearing, not ridicule.
  7. NYS wouldn't give WG a tax break, so they left.
  8. I'd add just a squirt of balsamic vinegar when you add the meat...just sayin'
  9. I'm annoyed by the @$$hole who puts her/his turn signal on when they are about 45 degrees through the turn. Take a lesson: The turn signal should say, "Here's what I'm about to do." NOT, "Didja see what I just did?"
  10. The procedure is a breeze; however, think long and hard (no pun intended) about the reasons for doing it (again, no pun...). If the wife says go ahead and we'll be free to make love more often, put your hands over your "whazisname" and step back quickly.
  11. Funny we can keep spending taxpayer $'s looking for the Jimster, but can't afford firefighters for the wildfire season in the west, nor open the White House for tours....
  12. No way should he have sent the kids home and then called the cops. In my experience the stories change when kids relate the incident to parents w/o the victim/police in the same room. The guy did the right thing--keep the kids there until police and parents arrive and then have all hear the incident first hand. Saves a lot of backing and filling later.
  13. There are as many ways to handle this situation as there are for parents to control their children. Parents should call it a draw, pay the damages, respond to whatever charges remain and call it a day in which expensive lessons were learned.
  14. I get cranked for posting about the words take and bring...and that's followed up by a post for jam recipes?
  15. I hope 2023 isn't a drop dead date as I'd like to see the Bills at least make the playoffs before it's all over.
  16. OK, admittedly it raining, windy as hell, cold and I can't get out fishing. Nevertheless, I have a bone to pick with the evolution of the word bring and the almost total extinction of the word take. For example, bring is a word used by a speaker when he/she is at the destination place, e.g., "Bring it when you come over tomorrow" or when the listener is at the place of destination, "When you come over, bring it with you." For some reason, the word bring is used currently when neither the speaker nor the listener is at the place of destination, e.g., "Bring it to the doctor this afternoon" when the proper way to say that sentence is, "Take it to the doctor this afternoon." Awkward construction appears to rule the day here in the 21st Century in the context of these two words. Look, I'm old and cranky, so don't B word about my posts!
  17. Wow, those Russians have some interesting approaches to social issues! http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2013/06/06/russia-putin-divorce-president/2397263/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+usatoday-NewsTopStories+%28News+-+Top+Stories%29&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher She'll be doing the Gulag boogie if she looks for alimony.
  18. I've watched Lackawanna politics from near (when I lived in the area) and from afar; no matter the distance, Lackawanna is always a dependable source of amusement and head scratching.
  19. What scares me is that a group of voters continues to send Rep. McDermott back to Washington term after term. Term limits look really really good right now.
