I have a lot of confidence in EJ's ability. I've seen him do some very good things in terms of game management, reading defenses, play selection, etc. So I know he is capable of performing at a high level. The problem is that he has yet to do these things consistently. Is the lack of consistency something that experience will resolve...I'm not sure about that. He deserves another sixteen games to mature and build his bank of NFL experience upon which to build and refine his skills.

This just in, and addressed to gatorman, corporal punishment includes a continuum of responses, not merely beating a child. For example, restraining a student who decides to walk out of a disciplinary meeting with her parents and me is, strictly speaking, corporal punishment. In this case, i administered this restraint as the parents were wailing they just couldn't do a thing with her...so I took her arm and escorted her back to her chair. My bad...?

Worked in public schools for thirty-three years; started as a teacher, ended as Superintendent of Schools. The concept of in loco parentis always seemed to work quite nicely until it was "decided" that reasoning with a child, who has no experience bank from which to make decisions, was the way to go. Please suggest to me, gatorman, how one reacts to a student who impales a pig on a statue in the school courtyard, lies about it, parents threaten to sue the district, etc.
