  1. New owner, new broom; sweep the whole outfit out of OBD. Something has to break the cycle of failure since tinkering with positions here and there hasn't worked in the past, so out with all of 'em.
  2. Get in the boat, toss out a line, watch what's happening on the lake...but sometimes those pesky fish interrupt things....
  3. Hey-soos, I'm ashamed of those who followed me in a career in public education if this is the sort of issue/decision that rises to compete with traditional pedagogy for national attention.
  4. It appears Mission Creep has quickly become Mission Sprint. Once again, POTUS, don't make absolute statements in reference to situations so fluid that no one can fathom the next step required.
  5. Maybe and Maybe because No one can Know such a complex issue to a 100% certainty. A wasted thread...
  6. Sigh....no more Apache helicopters and St. Bonaventure Brown Indians; will we go so far as to do away with the tomahawk chop; are Navajo blankets safe?
  7. I'm waiting for her peeps to announce her "listening tour" of the nation. She flogged that dog through NYS a number of years ago and it paid off for her then, so she'll undoubtedly ramp it up again. She'll feel our pain in Oh so many small towns across this great land.... Boots and Saddles, Hill'ry!
  8. But, but...if we aren't meddling in the Middle East and elsewhere, what ever shall we do? Will we turn attention to some of the domestic problems we appear to decry, then ignore (read immigration policy), will we be forced to address homelessness, true health care delivery, infrastructure repairs? Nah, let's just keep on pouring money and lives into situations in countries that we haven't the faintest hope of ever understanding.
  9. I agree that there are ?'s to be resolved, but I'd rather see military equipment surveyed out of active service put in the hands of our police forces (w/ proper training!) than left on the battlefield for some terrorists to scarf up, e.g., ISIS.
  10. So, many people are concerned about the militarization of police forces, but applaud calling in the national guard to restore order in difficult situations. What's wrong with this picture? This just in: National Guard troops ARE military trained, armed, organized, etc.
  11. How can this not be a thread about Hill'ry?
  12. No one person can change a culture and it's fair to say the Bills have grown and nurtured (maybe more by default than design) a culture of failure over the past two decades. Neither Tim Tebow nor [fill in the blank] is the answer.
  13. He's just peeved that he didn't get the championship belt in the Mr. Arrogant competition at the most recent broadcasters convention. He may resort to calling in the heavy guns (Al and Jesse) to lobby his cause.
  14. EiI says it very well. A wrong word or action in a seemingly innocuous situation can mushroom into an Al Sharpton moment quicker than kiss a duck.
  15. Did the woman feel it was a "teachable moment" so she permitted her kids to watch the whole process?
  16. Kudos to the boobologist who relentlessly searched his "files" for the identity (no "tity" pun intended) of those boobs!
  17. I'm hopin' the whole self-reported inconsistencies thing migrates from the IRS' management of the ACA to their main line responsibility - income tax collection. If a whole lot of us self-report with inconsistencies, maybe POTUS will work his "...if Congress won't act, I will..." magic and exempt us from paying. Ya think?
  18. Ssssssh, did you hear that? It's the sound of the mission creeping ever so softly toward the phrase, "boots on the ground." http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/13/world/middleeast/us-to-send-130-more-military-advisers-to-iraq.html?_r=0 Advice to POTUS: Never issue statements with absolutes such as always, never, etc. regarding situations you simply don't understand. (If I can help, call me.)
  19. Apologies for a quick reaction to quick read....
  20. It's a shame that the Palestinian "government," Hamas, not only doesn't reflect the will of the people, but values their lives so little as to use them as human shields. I can answer Yussef's question: Israel is defending itself from your leaders; you and your family have become pawns of little value to your government.
  21. Mission Creep: When incremental changes, often seemingly unrelated, accumulate resulting in major changes in policy and objectives. For example - http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/08/11/us-reportedly-sending-arms-to-iraq-kurds-in-battle-against-militants/ Not that any one element is necessarily a bad thing, but the totality often results in POTUS' foreign policy incompetence showing. Lesson to be learned: Don't make never/always statements, nor draw lines in the sand, in the early innings.
  22. If ever there was a situation cocked and primed for mission creep it is the newest twist in the saga that is Iraq. POTUS, in announcing humanitarian assistance as well as strictly focused surgical strikes on ISIS (or whatever cocktail of initials you choose), drew some "lines in the sand" in terms of no boots on the ground, Iraq must solve their own problems, and the US would not function as Iraq's air force, etc. The door is wide open for mission creep of the first magnitude.
  23. Maybe gatorman will start a thread promoting George Soros and we can have a "My Donor is Better Than Your Donor" pi$$ing contest!!
