A Thank you to SDS to the moderators/workers

"Excellently said..." teeters on the brink of a TBDism. Let's be careful out there! -
I'd watch, listen and learn through the upcoming season. I wouldn't just listen to the insiders, but to those in the know throughout the league. In all likelihood, I'd fire a whole passel of folks right after the season.

But, but..I thought POTUS had a telephone and a pen...he told us he did. He can use the telephone to call Hollywood and survey his peeps; he can go on the late night shows and poll the audiences; he can write a note to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to check their inputs; he can....well, he can.... And then he can add that stuff up and make a strategy; yeah, that's it, a strategy. Then, when he gets that strategy memorized, he can slide into that fawn colored suit and call Vlad and those other guys and tell them. Oh, and tell Congress too.

Bush vs Obama: Who's Worse?
Keukasmallies replied to Dorkington's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The neat thing about this thread is that POTUS is in the lead and has almost two more years to increase his lead! -
OK, I was going to post in this thread, but I don't actually have a strategy for what I want to say just yet. I'm aware of the overall topic and I've read the things others have posted above, but I haven't yet finalized my strategy, so I'll wait a bit. I hope nothing happens before I'm ready to actually write something in this thread. Oh, POTUS, you're so funny!

Official Bills Only-Talk Thread - PPP Style

I just wish Joe Biden was available to take the GM position at OBD...he'd fit right in. -
This is a post to give you hope!

Richmond Bob, the Bills salute you! That's the sort of optimism that keeps people in the seats at RWS to watch inferior football season after season. I had season tickets for years and years, drove long distances to watch the games; slowly the product quality went south. I stuck with it for several more years, then "shifted" from a fan in attendance to a fan watching on TV. I'm almost weaned off the entire debacle. When the first quarter ends in turmoil, I figure I've seen that game too many times before and turn it off. That hasn't caused me to miss very much over the last decade. I remain a cautious Bills fan in that I am an admirer of the history of the team, but have no expectations for the future. -
Did the Browns just House of Cards us?
Keukasmallies replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The very fact that three groups of people are competing to pay hundreds of millions of $'s for the Bills confirms my contention that even the very worst NFL teams make wads of money every year no matter the quality of the on-field product. Face it: The Bills suck, have sucked, will suck; however, the company makes money, therefore there is no real incentive to improve the actual product - administrators, coaches, players, etc. Somewhere, deep in the corporate structure, someone is laughing his/her ass off at the fans that make it all possible. Gee, let's explore building a new stadium and see how much tax money we can wring from the community and state.... -
no charges in IRS investigation?

Stepping back for a moment, I'm reminded that we, the voters, elected and continue to re-elect, the bozos who fuel this bureaucracy by making excuses the coin of the realm. Why do our elected officials not fire wrong-doers; why do they seem to merely suspend them for a period of time determined by the length of the news cycle, only to have the same dolts re-appear in another position? We get what we deserve, unfortunately. -
I said get me a quarterback, not a quarter pounder!

After 100 Votes it Is Yes for Incognito

Don't the Bills have enough problems w/o considering bringing a proven divisive force into the locker room? -
The prospect of yet another corporate tax inversion coupling should get the financial gurus among our legislators in DC (no pun intended) busy on developing measures that will keep "our" corporations based in the US. The tax dollar loss is but a single component of the damage done when companies leave for tax incentives elsewhere. With companies bailing out financially, we are staring at the prospect of simply being a money-making garden where the funds are harvested then taken elsewhere thus costing us the multiplier effect of spending a great portion of that money earned here. Maybe if POTUS mentions the problem at an upcoming fundraiser, Harry Reid would pick up on it and move the issue forward, eh?

Darn those Jews for embracing diversity.

And then there's one of our brethren who continues to "route" for the Bills.

This just in: It's preseason for the Buc's too!

I love reading these posts after a Bill's loss (too frequently, by the way); I pick up a ton of excuses that I can use in other situations. I just adapt them a bit. I like to think of these next day threads and replies as Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda stuff.

Aug 24 - Cancelling NFL Ticket
Keukasmallies replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One can be a Bills fan and not be blind to the fact that they simply suck, have sucked and will continue to suck until the culture of failure is broken at OBD. New owner, completely new administration, new on-field staff who seek the same thing: Winning games. Currently, the organization is focused on objectives that are at odds with the fans. -
This season will pass as has those of the last decade and a half--fits and starts, penalties, lackluster play, and finally locker clean out after a 6 - 10 season. The organization needs to start over with an ALL new administration that won't accept failure. The NFL, TV money and ancillary income sources make it too easy to ignore the need to field a winning team. Currently, the objectives of the fans and those of the organization are at odds. Our last best hope is a new owner with a will to win on the field.

Imagine that there are three groups willing to pay hundreds of millions of dollars for a company that hasn't been successful in two decades. Let Bon Jovi in the door, maybe he'll put us out of our misery.
