The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party and the fact Republicans won the Senate are prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck. Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota . “The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?" In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through and Rush annoyed the cows so much that they wouldn't give any milk." Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves. "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though." When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races. In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half- dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said. Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history majors does one country need?" In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada , Vice President Biden met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the administration would take steps to reassure liberals. A source close to President Obama said, "We're going to have some Paul McCartney and Peter, Paul & Mary concerts. And we might even put some endangered species on postage stamps. The President is determined to reach out," he said. Note to gatorman: The above paragraphs were written in jest, a prank as it were, meant to be funny through the use of exaggeration (See irony). You can move along, there's nothing for you here.

CANADIAN MAYOR REFUSES TO REMOVE PORK FROM SCHOOL CANTEEN- MENU... EXPLAINS WHY Muslim parents demanded the abolition of pork in all the school canteens of a Montreal suburb. The mayor of the Montreal suburb of Dorval has refused, and the town clerk sent a note to all parents to explain why... “Muslims must understand that they have to adapt to Canada and Quebec, its customs, its traditions, its way of life, because that's where they chose to immigrate. “They must understand that they have to integrate and learn to live in Quebec. “They must understand that it is for them to change their lifestyle, not the Canadians who so generously welcomed them. “They must understand that Canadians are neither racist nor xenophobic, they accepted many immigrants before Muslims (whereas the reverse is not true, in that Muslim states do not accept non-Muslim immigrants). “That no more than other nations, Canadians are not willing to give up their identity, their culture. “And if Canada is a land of welcome, it's not the Mayor of Dorval who welcomes foreigners, but the Canadian-Quebecois people as a whole. “Finally, they must understand that in Canada (Quebec) with its Judeo-Christian roots, Christmas trees, churches and religious festivals, religion must remain in the private domain. The municipality of Dorval was right to refuse any concessions to Islam and Sharia. “For Muslims who disagree with secularism and do not feel comfortable in Canada, there are 57 beautiful Muslim countries in the world, most of them under-populated and ready to receive them with open halal arms in accordance with Shariah. “If you left your country for Canada, and not for other Muslim countries, it is because you have considered that life is better in Canada than elsewhere. “Ask yourself the question, just once, “Why is it better here in Canada than where you come from?” “A canteen with pork is part of the answer.” Officials on the US side of the border might take a lesson from the Mayor and think about the concepts discussed above.

So the WMD's that Hill'ry factored into her "Yes" vote on war in Iraq were the "bad" WMD's while the WMD's that Bush referred to in asking for approval to pursue the war were the "good" MWD's.... Or was it the other way around...? Well, anyway, Hill'ry was (and always will be) correct, and George Bush was wrong and deceived the american people. OK, got it.

Do the fans really deserve better? While it's no secret that the Bills have failed, are failing now, and will continue to fail for at least two more seasons, the fans continue to do the lemming dance to the ticket window. By continuing to buy tickets, Bills gear, memorabilia, etc., the fans perpetuate the team losing by partially funding (Maybe totally funding since fans watch TV too and the TV revenues are big $'s for each NFL team.) incompetence. Would the fans shop in a grocery store that stocked spoiled items for years?

I certainly want all people in the US to have health care, and, call me crazy here, I want it to be done legally so the emphasis is on the delivery of sound health services, not the trumped up shady way the law was developed, passed and implemented. For example, given all the health services-related agencies, departments, and committees in the national government, the administration of the ACA was entrusted to the IRS? Aretha Franklin said it best, "Who's zooming' who?"

Charburger from The Habit, Milpas St., Santa Barbara, CA., so good I wouldn't try to match it at home.

The way the bill was written, and the way the wording in question remains in the law, appears to contradict the way the IRS is administering the law in general and specifically the section we're discussing here. Of course, one must remember that to catch the error (if it is/was an error) in the bill one would have to have read it. IF the wording is convoluted by the SC, and the current practice is upheld, the reasoning of the court will become fodder for beau coup threads here in Sanityville. Hope and Change. I'm a' hopin they change it.

"Boots on the Ground" Pool
Keukasmallies replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If you had 11/7 in the pool, you're the winner! Looks to me that TYTT was only a week early w/ his guess, so he "wins." As I re-read the posts looking for the winner, I chuckled at the boots or boobs comment, but I was reminded that the boots are in harms way and the boob is still at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. -
And the winner of the pool is whomever had 11/7 as their guess!

Now the challenge: What to do with what they've got. It's time for a bit of a macro view by planning legislation that builds toward a Republican win in 2016 as well as clear the Reid-built log jam and show the nation that Congress can work if led effectively and efficiently. (I probably should apologize now for using the words Congress, effectively and efficiently in the same sentence.)
