  1. An across-the-pond variation on the old do as I say, not as I do concept.
  2. I'm a'waitin' for the mainstream media to discover Gilbert Collard's sudden demise at the hands of a black police officer....
  3. To provide a serious reply: Joe "I'm a maroon" Biden is #1.
  4. Thanks for the great pics! Interesting stuff.
  5. Google the name Gilbert Collar to see "the other side of the coin." It's amazing' that Al and Jesse, et. al. aren't racing to protest Gil's situation. Or is it.....?
  6. Here's a "great" TBDism from a quote in the Ferguson Thread: "This is a Facebook post from the Mayor-Elect of Oakland. I know her, my neighbor works for her, I voted for her. But this is the dumbest thing she could have said and is getting lamb basted in the comments for it. I'm hoping that it was written by one of her dumbass handlers." Lamb Basted must be a culinary term discernible only by Chef Jim. Lambasted, on the other hand....
  7. Chef, it was (and this was over twenty-five years ago!) eleven sick days, two personal days, three bereavement days. I have no clue what the totals are today, nor do I want to know! I will never forget his comment at the end of the meeting; something to the effect that he didn't leave any paychecks at the end of the year, so he certainly wasn't going to leave any other negotiated benefits either. We were meeting in what I'd call an "are-you-in-the-right-profession" meeting at the end of the year. I kept trying to redirect him to consider the impact his absences had on his students (high school social studies); he kept trying to figure out what planet I was from.
  8. LABF - I saw this on Google news this AM http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/barricaded-st-louis-murder-suspect-shoots-fbi-agents-cops-article-1.2024605 B-Man - Correctamundo.
  9. First reports are that they were shot by a black male. Since all the relevant parties are in the vicinity, Rev. Al Dullton, etc., let's rally/protest/pillage and burn in support of the FBI agents.... Oh, wait, that's not how is goes, is it....? If nothing else, let's form our opinions based on emotion rather than the facts of the matter; THEN, let's rally/protest/pillage and burn.
  10. From my vantage point (former teacher, HS principal, district Superintendent) many teachers are true professionals; others, however, are the sources of the most negative stereotypes of teachers. National, state and local teacher unions embarrass the hard working teachers and provide cover for the dregs of the profession. For example, I once had a teacher tell me (HS Principal at the time) that his union negotiated long and hard for his benefits and it was his duty to take every sick day, personal day, bereavement day available (and every other benefit) each year to show his support for the union's hard work on his behalf.
  11. The damn facts always seem to get in the way of some down home protesting/rioting....
  12. Beat the Browns; if the Bills want to be better, they have to beat better teams.
  13. Heterosexual or homosexual, don't we often feel we're being screwed by one of POTUS' friends...?
  14. So, for six + years the Democratic Party controlled two of the three arms of our national government and the sole fault for gridlock is the Republicans? Holy Harry Reid, are you serious?
  15. If I had said "magic lamp," g'man could have accused Republicans of practicing ju ju, 'mon.
  16. Never fear, POTUS has got your back...and your wallet. It appears that the puppeteers behind POTUS and his political party are nothing but well-heeled individuals and groups that believe the environmentalist concepts, open borders ideas and other such new wave thinking will cloud the agenda so that a minority can derail the majority. Republicans have a chance to right the ship, but recriminations are not the way to do it: Develop a long-range plan, set out on the path and ignore the administrations cries of foul when they come. Focus on the prize in 2016 and beyond.
  17. Franz, openly admitting you're a Dull Jr fan is as comical as your comments posted above. (Maybe POTUS can elevate Dull Jr to this year's championship by executive fiat.) Given that your level of constitutional knowledge is lower than a wagon track, I suggest you return to wherever NASCAR good 'ol boys post and bask in the glow of a one tire pit stop.
  18. Golly, I'd be just sick if anything interfered with the smooth well-oiled operation of our national government. Whatever would we do if our elected officials were distracted from their attention to the welfare, wants and needs of the citizens of this glorious nation?
  19. So BR does what every news agency that reports on the Internet does, compile information from a number of sources and report the compilations? Sometimes effectively, sometimes not.
  20. Wasn't there some German guy in the mid-to-late 1930's who said something to the effect, If you're going to lie, make it a big lie...?
