Former Jills suing the Bills
Keukasmallies replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My sentiment exactly, "GO JILLS!!!" Go as far away as you can from OBD; nothing more dreadful than a band of women bouncing up and down shaking stuff.... -
There needs to be a new NFL rule
Keukasmallies replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One can parse the rule book all day and not eliminate the poor officiating in the NFL. In games between the Bills and [write NFL team name here], close calls will not favor the Bills until such time as the Bills evolve to consistent NFL-caliber play. -
The Bills would of won today. :(

Since yesterday is the best predictor of tomorrow, the Bills are a long way from January football. -
Blood is on the NRA's hands
Keukasmallies replied to LA Grant's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
POTUS wrote this recently: “We need the vast majority of responsible gun owners who grieve with us after every mass shooting, who support common-sense gun safety and who feel that their views are not being properly represented, to stand with us and demand that leaders heed the voices of the people they are supposed to represent” http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/08/us/politics/obama-gun-control-town-hall-cnn.html?_r=0 OK, but what do we do when POTUS is the person not heeding the voices of the people? The people appear to want concrete action that grows out of input from all sides of the gun control issue. Citizens appear ready to accept congressional action that focuses on the issue, but to reject executive actions that cloud the primary issue - gun control. Given that, why is the leader unwilling to lead? POTUS is a nothing-to-lose lame duck, why not convene the various parties and negotiate some initiatives that move toward real action on the gun control problems we all see so clearly? My fear is that in order to take steps toward meaningful action POTUS will have to acknowledge that he is responsible to/for all of us, not just Democrats; and that is something he has proven genetically incapable of doing. -
Nope, just uncaring.

Since we were assured that the recent agreement with Iran included snap-back responses to violations, I'm sure we'll soon see a strong response to the two recent egregious taunts/threats by Iran. POTUS may select from a range of possible responses including the always-feared line in the sand option. On the other hand, Iran has sent some processed uranium to Russia in keeping with a specific tenet of the agreement that they send "some" uranium to Russia. Do we know how to nail down an agreement or what...? All hail John Larry...er, Merry...oh well, you know who I mean; the foreign affairs toadie.

New Orleans To Remove Excremental Rebel Monuments
Keukasmallies replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Whoa, birdog 1960, you bee's a haughty mammy jammer! -
My wife has an implanted defibrillator. Initial cost for surgery, device, hospital stay was over $30,000; however, she only had to pay for her telephone bill during the stay in the hospital. Of course, that was pre-ACA. No telling what the costs to us will be when the device needs replacing under today's ACA pricing guidelines. (With luck, she'll have an Obamaphone and can at least avoid the telephone bill this time.)

New Orleans To Remove Excremental Rebel Monuments

I NOLA is successful in removing/relocating monuments, maybe TBD should launch a drive to remove/relocate some of the nonsensical posts/posters seen in this thread...? -
TIME FOR THE FANS TO TAKE CONTROL
Keukasmallies replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hiring isn't a science, it's an art. Therefore, hiring the wrong person isn't a mistake; but it quickly becomes a mistake if the boss does nothing after realizing the wrong person was hired. Rex has to go now before he becomes even more of a mistake and an embarrassment. -
It appears that every proposal to moderate the impact of increasing premium costs merely shifts those ever-increasing costs to taxpayers in general. Duh, why didn't someone think of that five years ago...Oh wait a minute, almost everybody did think about that eventuality five years ago. So health care costs continue to increase far beyond projections, and at the same time availability of health care services is declining. Oh those lucky people who had no health care five years ago: They got a taste of the system and can now see it slipping away from them.

Surely you must see Bush's actions as merely the overture to POTUS' seven-year main performance run in terms of emptying Gitmo. Our current Grand Poobah has raised questionable releases to an art form, eh? It's rumored that Qatar's rulers swore on a stack of Bibles.....no wait, on a stack of [document to be negotiated later] to keep a close eye on former Gitmoites.

Dear POTUS, thanks again for the coming year's increase in my health insurance premiums. Your thoughtful actions make it so much easier to quickly calculate the added expense when the premium goes up by twenty (20) percent per annum than when it only increased by 3.7% as was the case pre-ACA. A quick thought: Why don't you just send me the name and address of a family in need of health care here in CONUS and I'll simply pay all their medical bills for them for the rest of their lives; no muss, no fuss, no bother? All the very best to you and the family in sunny Hawaii.

Indentured servitude was/is a step in that direction as was the practice of buying "substitutes" for what was at the time seen as onerous tasks, e.g., military service -
Democrats and Totalitarianism

Is being a totalitarian anything like being a dictatorian? (And we're the dumb bastards....?) -

Probably the first thing they'd say is, "Where ya' been? It's about time you woke up to the fact that you were elected to represent ALL of us, not just your 'mocrat buds." Do you think that the leader of a representative form of government is required to only receive input from those that agree with his/her position? "WTF is anyone on the pro gun side going to contribute?" Well, just maybe hearing their point of view would spark a point of commonality; or maybe just receiving the courtesy of being acknowledged would result in a more tempered debate on the issue.
