Brian Brohm almost played
Keukasmallies replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brohm almost played, the Bills almost played,.... -
I'm not upset that Paladino received $X in grants, loans, etc. from the government; I'm upset with the clowns that GAVE him the $, that approved his applications, etc. I'm voting for Paladino because everyone else is same old, same old. IF Paladino happens to win, how bad can it be? What will happen--the Governor won't get along with the Legislature? The budget will be late? NYS government will be the laughing stock of the nation? No meaningful legislation will be passed? Paladino could be a major embarassment, but is that any worse than we have at present? Maybe, just maybe, an election cycles' worth of bozos would be worth it if it brought some honest, public-minded, willing-to-work citizens out of the woodwork to run the NEXT time!

Ralph is the owner, boss, etc. If he doesn't agree w/ the decisions his staff members make, he could make some changes. Ralph bears ultimate responsibility; kudos when things go well, barbs when the wheels fall off (like the last ten years!). Ralph may not be keenly incisive in all matters surrounding the Bills, but he must have an inkling that all is not well at 1BD. So, he's at fault in my book.

Trade Lindell to the Saints
Keukasmallies replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just an incisive idea! Trade Moorman and Lindell; then lease the stadium parking lots on Sundays for flea markets! -
I've made my peace with the Bills for this year: I am considering the entire 2010 season as one long preseason. I hope they experiment with each position until they know who stays and who goes, find what positions they need to strengthen, and where they have to start from the ground up--players, administrators, coaches--the whole outfit. In a sense, the Bills are playing in a parallel season alongside actual NFL teams with real NFL players. Maybe after a year or two of this approach, the Bills can go 6 - 10 by 2012.

Can Paladino help the Bills

Can [fill in the blank] help the Bills? -
Paladino's idea for welfare reform
Keukasmallies replied to tomdayfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Vote for anyone who has NOT held elected office. How bad can the results be? Gosh, what if we ended up with dysfunctional government? Oh, wait a minute, we have that now.... -
So ...I'm thinkin' that having half the people under the median income is just about how it came to be known as the median income. Having half the people under the median income isn't a bad thing if the median income is a living wage, is it? Don't forget, many people are content to make less $, do less work, and enjoy less hassle.

I want some federal money! I have no specific claim to make except for being retired and fed up with things I see swirling around me. I want a federal program developed to give mucho dinero to old pissed off people who read the paper and watch the news, then shake their heads and quote from that 20th Century philosopher, Aretha Franklin, who said, "Who's zoomin' who?" And don't point me to one of those senior programs where they serve lunch, aerobics, and quilting; screw that; I just want money sent to me regularly.

Is there anything funnier than lisitening to Joe "The Buffoon" Biden talk about the end of combat activities in Iraq? It seems that whenever the administration has to produce some pronouncement on toss up-type issues, they send in the clowns in the person of the Vice President. (Most of us know he is a joke, so we don't really take what he says seriously.) Since he is the one who often speaks on shaky issues, when they implode in the President's face, Obama can run out the old plausible deniability excuse. Go gettum Joe!

Who are you watching closely tonight?

I'll be watching my neighbor to see if he finally strokes out over the inept Bills.... -
Are the Bills getting a swagger
Keukasmallies replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fellas, I know I'm pessimistic, especially about the Bills...having watched them implode more times than I care to recall for this reply, but are you really watching this team? Are you so starved for anything remotely positive that Chan's chewing out several teens is interpreted as the team turning the corner? Wait four or five games, then take the team's temperature.... -
No clue whether Ralph is cheap or not. What I do know with some certainty is that he is unwilling to spend the money it takes to field a winning football team in the 21st Century NFL. Coaches, management, players, staff all appear to be journeymen/women who approach their positions as just that. After years and years of the summers highs, followed by the season lows, why would anyone come to expect anything else? Once more, with feeling: If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got.

[please fix subject]The Bills
Keukasmallies replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, exactly what is a true Bills fan? It a true Bills fan one who ignores the team's history of failure; or is a true Bills fan one who always sees only the positives? Beats me....Oh wait a minute, isn't that what happens to the Bills a majority of the weeks during the season....? -
Obama, Muslim, Marxist, now CIA agent
Keukasmallies replied to ....lybob's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Wow, connor, thanks! I knew Obama was a lot of things, but you've added new dimensions to his breadth of inability. Again, thanks! -
To me it means: New owner, new business philosophy [see New York Yankees], new management team from top down, and maybe, just maybe, a new city.

The Dos Equis man is alive and well at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.... -
I agree with the title of the post: Calm down! The Bills sucked Friday night, they have sucked for oh so many nights in the past, and they'll suck again, and soon. The Bills are doing what they have always done, so we'll get what we always got. No need to get aroused, they are, and will be, awful until some fundamental changes are made.

ELIMINATE THE MISTAKES
Keukasmallies replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This post could be dated any time in the past fifteen years! -
I'm seventy years old. I've watched the Bills, either at the stadium or on TV, since Christ was a midshipman. I've "seen" last night's game at least one hundred times--inept, uninspired, clueless. The ONLY question I have is why fans continue to pay money to support such a poor product?

Should we be concerned that Maybin is a bust?
Keukasmallies replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Maybin is/was going to be an effective NFL player, wouldn't he be flying around the field making the most of whatever opportunities he had? While he may mature somewhat in terms of skill sets and experiences in the next year or two, isn't it safe to say that he possesses all the "heart" he'll ever have in terms of making the commitments and sacrifices needed to play at the NFL level? I don't think it is too early to say he isn't going to deliver what the Bills sought when they drafted him. -
I can't decide whether RiO put the "F" in fairy, or the "P" in pixie.... I'll post my final decision in a few months.
