Any list of people to shun is just a recommendation for newcomers and a voluntary reminder for us all to ignore the scum. When someone violates the list it would get nothing more than a few eyebrows raised and a reminder that they are responding to someone deemed persona non grata by the vast majority here.

Nothing has been agreed to yet. If we are going to be successful with the "shunning" approach we need a more formal mechanism. If we go that route we should also probably get SDS's approval. I'm talking about something like a 3 person panel of known fair and reasonable posters that can make a determination for a voluntary shun that would be recommended to all posters. I don't see Durham coming back with anything but indictments, however many there are. There will be no recommendations for "institutional fixes". That's not his job. I doubt he'll even address any specific person who does not get indicted.
