Owen Schmitt and Peyton Hillis Still on the Board
2bdshouter replied to ax4782's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They are a stretch to be draft picks at all, well at least according to the brass on this board. -
But yet you respond.

I could care less what who on here thinks or says about my posts. I have been a Bills fan for 22 years now. In those years I have watched them win and lose. Now with them being so close to winning again and not making the playoffs for 8 years it pisses me off to see players that can contribute now passed on by. They can take their picks from 4, 5, and 6 and put them on the practice squad. I wouldn't have them on a high school team if I was the coach. So now tbd brain trust, tell me where Buffalo should go in round #6? I will be on the toilet taking me a big ole' hairy dump when they make that pick. Have a good day.

5th Round Selection: Alvin Bowen LB ISU

Undersized, slow, weak. They are completely going cheap. At this rate I know some high school players they may be interested in. -
As a TE?

2008 Tight End Rankings The top 2008 tight end prospects available for the 2008 NFL Draft. More will be added as time progresses. * - denotes underclassmen. This page was last updated March 25, 2008. Other Positions: QB|RB|FB|WR|TE|OT|OG|C|DE|DT|OLB|ILB|CB|S|K|P Fred Davis, USC Height: 6-3. Weight: 255. Projected 40 Time: 4.68. Combine 40 Time: Did not run. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.68. Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 33. Projected Round: 2. Fred Davis didn't run the 40 or do the vertical jump. He did the position drills, but dropped two of his first three passes. Davis also bobbled two balls in the gauntlet. Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M Height: 6-6. Weight: 259. Projected 40 Time: 4.72. Combine 40 Time: 4.69. Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 34. Projected Round: 2-3. Martellus Bennett didn't really stand out at the combine, but he may have benefited from John Carlson's poor 40 and Fred Davis' drops in the drills. Dustin Keller, Purdue Height: 6-2. Weight: 242. Projected 40 Time: 4.85. Combine 40 Time: 4.53. Benchx225: 26. Vertical: 41. Projected Round: 2-3. Remember how impressive Dustin Keller's 38-inch vertical was at the combine? Yeah, forget about that. Keller improved his vertical at his Pro Day, leaping 41 inches into the air. This guy's not human. Keller nearly touched the roof of the RCA Dome, notching a 38-inch vertical, and then blew everyone away with a 4.54 in the 40, nearly matching Greg Olsen's time of 4.51 in 2007. Keller then looked very fluid in the drills and even leaped a 10'11" broad jump. A bit small for a tight end, but Dustin Keller burst onto the scene to catch 56 passes for 771 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2006. Matched those numbers (61 receptions, 731 yards) as a senior. Brad Cottam, Tennessee Height: 6-7. Weight: 270. Projected 40 Time: 4.68. Combine 40 Time: 4.68. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.69. Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 36.5. Projected Round: 2-3. Brad Cottam ran a really impressive 40 at his size and looked fluid in the drills. A monstrous tight end with decent size, Brad Cottam could be the best blocker at his position in this class. Jermichael Finley, Texas Height: 6-4. Weight: 243. Projected 40 Time: 4.60. Combine 40 Time: 4.82. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.66. Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 27.5. Projected Round: 3. Jermichael Finley quelled all speed concerns with a 4.66 40 at Texas' Pro Day. Finley struggled in the 40 at the combine, but looked great in the gauntlet, perhaps offsetting his horrific sprint. Martin Rucker, Missouri Height: 6-4. Weight: 251. Projected 40 Time: 4.85. Combine 40 Time: Did not run. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.71. Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 37. Projected Round: 3. Martin Rucker didn't run or do the drills. Needs to improve his 40 to move into the second round. Jacob Tamme, Kentucky Height: 6-3. Weight: 236. Projected 40 Time: 4.50. Combine 40 Time: 4.57. Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 30. Projected Round: 3-4. Jacob Tamme ran a nice (but expected) 40, and made some great catches in the drills. John Carlson, Notre Dame Height: 6-4. Weight: 255. Projected 40 Time: 4.90. Combine 40 Time: 4.89. Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 30.5. Projected Round: 4. John Carlson's draft stock took a hit in the wake of his 4.89 40. I don't get why people liked Carlson in the first place. Every time I watched him I never came away thinking, "Wow, this guy is going to be a great tight end." Kellen Davis, Michigan State Height: 6-6. Weight: 262. Projected 40 Time: 4.83. Combine 40 Time: 4.58. Benchx225: 22. Vertical: 34. Projected Round: 4. As Matt McGuire predicted, Kellen Davis was one of the star tight ends at the combine. The question remains whether he can play football. After a horrible junior campaign, Kellen Davis rebounded with 32 receptions, 513 yards and six touchdowns in 2007. Struggled with Drew Stanton under center. Caught just 12 passes. Not a good blocker. Gary Barnidge, Louisville Height: 6-6. Weight: 244. Projected 40 Time: 4.94. Combine 40 Time: 4.63. Benchx225: 22. Vertical: 31. Projected Round: 5-6. I said Gary Barnidge needed to improve his 40. He did that, going from 4.94 to 4.63. Very impressive. Craig Stevens, California Height: 6-3. Weight: 254. Projected 40 Time: 4.72. Combine 40 Time: 4.62. Benchx225: 27. Vertical: 32.5. Projected Round: 5-6. How does a blocking tight end run a 4.62? Crazy. Chris Hopkins, Toledo Height: 6-5. Weight: 273. Projected 40 Time: 4.75. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.78. Benchx225: 19. Vertical: 35. Projected Round: 5-6. Chris Hopkins could have it all; his 40 time complements his size well. He's productive (54 receptions, 565 yards, 7 touchdowns in 2006). And he has great character. Think Hopkins prospered because of his lacking competition? He recorded 13 receptions and three scores at Iowa State. Joe Jon Finley, Oklahoma Height: 6-6. Weight: 254. Projected 40 Time: 4.70. Combine 40 Time: Did not run. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.86. Benchx225: 12. Projected Round: 6. Joe Jon Finley ran .16 seconds slower than projected at his Pro Day. Not a good showing. Did not work out at the combine. After a 19-catch 2006 campaign, Joe Jon Finley has seven receptions, 130 yards and a touchdown in five games. Kory Sperry, Colorado State Height: 6-6. Weight: 260. 40 Time: 4.79. Projected Round: 6. Has great size and speed, Kory Sperry is stuck on a bad team. His production slipped in 2006; he registered 380 yards despite gaining 547 the year before. Joey Haynos, Maryland Height: 6-7. Weight: 269. Projected 40 Time: 4.85. Combine 40 Time: 4.90. Benchx225: 17. Vertical: 30.5. Projected Round: 6. Joey Haynos has a nice frame, but his 40 is slow. He also struggled in the gauntlet, waddling all over the line. Tyson DeVree, Colorado Height: 6-6. Weight: 247. Projected 40 Time: 4.71. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.75. Benchx225: 14. Vertical: 34.5. Projected Round: 6. Tom Santi, Virginia Height: 6-3. Weight: 250. Projected 40 Time: 4.73. Combine 40 Time: 4.76. Benchx225: 14. Vertical: 36. Projected Round: 6. Kolo Kapanui, West Texas A&M Height: 6-3. Weight: 271. Projected 40 Time: 4.64. Combine 40 Time: 5.04. Benchx225: 23. Vertical: 26.5. Projected Round: 7. Darrell Strong, Pittsburgh Height: 6-4. Weight: 268. Projected 40 Time: 4.95. Combine 40 Time: 4.79. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.76. Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 34.5. Projected Round: 7. I'm not sure if Darrell Strong did enough at the combine to offset some of his character issues. Flipped off the middle finger at South Florida fans in a 22-12 loss. Not too productive and a bit slow. Adam Bishop, Nevada Height: 6-4. Weight: 243. Projected 40 Time: 4.74. Combine 40 Time: 4.93. Benchx225: 21. Vertical: 27. Projected Round: 7. Louis Irizarry, Youngstown State Height: 6-3. Weight: 255. 40 Time: 4.64. Projected Round: FA. Derek Fine, Kansas Height: 6-2. Weight: 251. Projected 40 Time: 4.71. Combine 40 Time: 4.84. Pro Day: 40 Time: 4.88. Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 33. Projected Round: FA. What the F are they doing up there?

They have TE's! If they wanted a fullback Owen Schmitt is a few pounds lighter and stronger and is punishing. This guy and the brass can go f**k themselves!
-
How about 3rd and 4ths.
-
When Buffalo needs players to contribute now they go and pull this same old antic bullsh*t. If they wanto to put fans in the seats they should pay attention to what the fans think also. Was planning on seeing 2-3 games this year and I live in Virginia. Guess now I'll just burn the f*****g tickets. Stupid mo-fo'in dumb-f**k a$$holes. Thanks for nothing!! Signed, Completely Pissed Off. Anyone got an extra bag I can cut eyes out of?

2 corners, don't count it out. -
You're probably right. Like another 7th round guy.

F value. We need guys who can contribute.
