Maybe the difference between capable and elite isn’t as impactful as a gunner as it would be at say WR, OL or most other positions. Just thinking out loud.
-
Why even bother ? Weird

No QB has more TDs than Allen since 2020… I have eyes and can easily tell Allen just has way more tools in his box.. no slight on Burrow.. but Allen with all those Bengals weapons.. yeesh
-
Mahomes and Allen are on a level of their own, I won’t argue Mahomes at one he’s incredible but Burrow in no way is ahead of Allen and K think he’s terrific. Allen just has many more ways to demoralize a defense on his own.
-
I’d even have Burrow and Hurbert ahead of Rodgers at this point

You’re 100% correct, which is why it’s curious that many are shocked by the idea of Hamlin returning this season. Hamlin decking to answer was pretty telling, he seems to know his answer would be controversial or problematic for public consumption.
-
Ok sounds right… he came back without assistance. Not as severe as Hamlin.

I believe Chris Pronger in the NHL suffered the same thing, had to be revived on the ice and returned in 4 games, hope I’m not remembering this story incorrectly

Anyone just sit back and appreciate it?

Those 90s teams and all the winning and success was just a blur for me. I was so focused on the superbowl that I never really absorbed the greatness of those teams. Halfway through the drought I told myself if the cosmic gods would ever bless us with another HOF level QB I would not solely focus on the end game and I would absolutely enjoy all the wins along the way. Do I experience hurt upon season ending losses ? Yes, but I don’t let my experience of fandom rest solely upon the final outcome. This is my approach and I understand it isn’t the right approach for everyone. -
Wtf… they didn’t bother to ask the source before blurting it out over the airwaves… bush league

Land Wagner then go Oline and weapons early in the draft and I consider this off-season a success

I’m not sure there’s a long or even moderate list of middle LBs who consistently stopped good to great QBs in any facet of pass defense. I think many fans expectations are somewhat outta whack. I guess I can be talked out of “excellent “ but when comparing his coverage ability to his contemporaries I’m leaning towards “very good”
-
Exaggerations aside, I don’t disagree Edmunds has been excellent in blanketing the middle of the field in pass coverage. Unfortunately regardless of todays game or any other days game Edmunds falls behind Fletcher in the instincts department at this point. I’m an Edmunds believer and hoped they would keep him.
-
Fletcher, I’m not sure there’s a realistic argument to be made for Edmunds in this scenario.

I think we agree, it’s always been a win for the opposition when Allen hands it off because the Bills haven’t had a stud RB or a great oline since Allen arrived. I think Cook can be a special talent but only if they seriously address the oline, if they don’t then 17 remains the best option every snap IMHO.
-
I’d personally love to see Josh run or throw on every snap, every time 17 hands the ball off it’s a win for the opposing team. It would be nice if that reality were a lot less predictable by handing it off to a monster. Anything offense in rounds 1-3 is where I’m at.

Let’s not act like making it to the super bowl with Bledsoe was a testament to his supreme coaching, Bledsoe was an excellent QB. That being said, Bellicheat is arguably the greatest defensive coach of all time.
-
Lol… maybe more reading and less posting is order for those who’ve run out of “football discussion” and now must resort to critiquing other fans ability or willingness to critique players. Yawn
-
Allen is his biggest critic, he owns his poor play every time without failure, as long as he realizes his mistakes and continues to try and improve his game then why in the hell do you care that some fans won’t criticize him ?
-
I understand the frustration.., NO more time to waste is a bit dramatic, I am nearing the end of my patience with McDermott though, we definitely don’t want to be making a habit of poor performances in the playoffs.

No more passes ? what are you going to do if they fall short again ?
