I love the fact that we're in the spotlight. NFL people are going to be paying attention to Buffalo all year, even if it is to watch the drama or to wait and see when he'll blow up. But at least he brings some star power to our team!
The Bills made an out-of-character move, no doubt, but maybe a wild move like this is what this team needs to shake things up. The same old MO wasn't working, as noted by our nine straight non-playoff seasons.
One thing to remember is that when the Bills had the deal for TG in place, it was with the old Chiefs regime. Pioli may have other plans. Tony himself may now be open to the idea but it's hard to say. I honestly doubt it.
Evans, Owens and Reed with Lynch in the backfield is scary on paper. The Bills are giving Trent every opportunity to succeed by surrounding him with weapons. But they still need a tight end.
Thanks for the link.
I'm still in the "shock" stage, but I think this is what I'll feel eventually:
"I love it. Once I recovered from the initial shock, I realized it was the most interesting thing to happen to the Bills since they acquired Drew Bledsoe in 2002."
This also rings very true:
"It gives them a year of cushion while waiting to find out if Hardy and Johnson are genuine NFL options."
I still can't believe it. It's had some time to sink in and I still can't believe Terrell Owens is a Buffalo Bill. His signing is so un-Buffalo-like. I can't wrap my head around this.
He had a rough go, but before his knee injury and staph infection he was an all-pro. You have to think he'd be able to regain some of his old form. Depends on how healthy/motivated he is. Worth a look though.
There's a chance he may just shut his mouth, play hard and produce, showing the league he's worth having on your team, then he jets after the season for a new deal.
Any regrets?
I re-upped last week
While I'm petrified of what he might do to our locker room and the circus that will follow. He is a very very good receiver who can still dominate. We suddenly find ourselves in the media spotlight. I'm extremely excited to see what he'll do on the field.
You knew this poll was coming, lol. Trent's young, growing and learning still. He'll start complaining in Week 1. Media circus, he'll be the centre of attention.
Ownes blew up on a dominant, pro bowler in McNabb, what chance does Trent have?
