Cutler trade and how it changes the dynamics of the draft
lets_go_bills replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Broncos obviously aren't going to want Orton and Simms as their starting QBs going forward. I'm kinda surprised that a deal didn't go down that involved the Broncos getting a starter in return. The Broncos must like one of the QBs, probably Freeman or Sanchez while using Orton as the short-term starter. The Broncos could also move up with these picks. -
Bears get Cutler! He goes to the NFC.

All Chicago fans are rejoicing and celebrating this on their message boards. -

While the Broncos "made out like bandits", they are still absent franchise signal caller. The Bears paid a steep price, but they look to have finally gotten their answer at QB. -
Thanks for the response. It just makes sense that if Peters wants to be paid like the top LT, that he practice and play like one.

Raji tested postive for drugs at combine...

I'm weary of his slight tendency to break rules, albeit minor ones, but they are still rules. But when I think about seeing him playing down there next to big Marcus, it's exciting. -

Awesome! He's outta the AFC and I'm happy as hell about that. Here's the ESPN link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4037373 -
http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/04/02/p...ecord-straight/ Well, there was the thread about his comments. Now here's the thread about his "setting the record straight" about those comments. lol This is my favourite excerpt: "I’m well aware that my current team had a worse record than we did in Buffalo last year and in potentially a weaker division." Idiot.

And our guy, TO, hasn't done anything to our team... yet. Broncos fans are upset because it's happening to their team. Nothing's happened to our team. Except for the Peters thing, which pisses me off, but that's for another thread.
-
I don't find TO to be a baby. To me, he's a flamboyant, outspoken diva, but he doesn't cry over spilled milk. He wants the ball (a lot) and he wants to win. Yes, he too gets upset when he doesn't get his way but the comparison doesn't quite seem there. Coaches get hired and fired. Teams discuss trades and such. And Cutler is upset because they wanted a change in the coach and were exploring options to improve the team. Cutler isn't above the team, he isn't above the coach or the owner. Any player would be upset if they almost got traded but didn't want to be. He should've gotten over it and went in there, set the record straight with Bowlen and McDaniels. He should take the experience and use it as motivation. Put that chip on your shoulder and work hard and show everyone how good you are and how wrong they were for ever doubting you or trying to trade you.

Mayock Comparing Mark Sanchez to Matt Ryan
lets_go_bills replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not embarrassed to admit this, but I thought Ryan was gonna bust. Sanchez will. IMO, at least. -
True that. Frankly, I'm actually surprised. You'd think Bowlen would've told McDaniels not to even entertain the notion of bringing in a different QB. Cutler is being a huge baby and totally overreacted, but he's the franchise and they have to coddle him. I honestly though that they'd mend fences, but he does want out and won't look back. But because they canned a legend and brought in a rookie, he has to set the tone and show who's in charge, so it kinda makes sense. They screwed up, but they have to show who's in charge. Denver has long been looking for the successer to Elway, and they found him, but now they have to start over. Whoever they bring in, be it Quinn, Stafford, Freeman, Sanchez, or someone else, if they don't succeed and Cutler goes on to have a brilliant career, Broncos fans will be incredibly soured, bitter and truly alienated. They'll never forgive McDaniels and Bowlen will have to fire him too and start over again in an effort to remove themselves from the McDaniels/Cutler saga. It's a schitty situation.

Thanks for posting the link. Some mixed opinions in there. One guy said something that kinda jumped out at me: "15 years from now, people will talk about this trade the same way they talk about Atlanta trading Brett Favre to Green Bay." Crazy! Some guys are saying if he doesn't wanna be here then we don't want him here. And some are obviously infuriated. But with QB being the ultimate position in sports, it seems almost unfathomable that a 25-year-old franchise signal caller could get traded coming off of a monster statistical year. McDaniels hasn't even coached a game yet and they're already calling for his head. Drama!

Peters to Eagles Potential Trade Discussion
lets_go_bills replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the read. Some interesting stuff there. I for one, want to keep Peters and have no problem seeing him paid $10M per. But he sucked last year, and yes I do think it was because of his holdout and not attending camp. So he needs to show he's great and earn it with some incentives in his contract. But clearly the two sides are far apart and with the draft fast approaching, this Peters thing needs to end. Quite frankly, it's wearing me thin. I'd rather him be on our team, but if we can't come to some form of a reasonable agreement on a contract, I'd be okay to see him shipped to Philly for a 1st and a 3rd. I just don't want to have to suffer through another holdout. We could then draft Andre Smith and Robert Ayers in Round 1, the top TE left in Round 2 (Cook or Nelson), go OLB and LG in Round 3, and then C in Round 4. -
I'm surprised at this. I thought McDaniels was going to make nice with him. Broncos fans must be losing their minds. Cutler must really be upset. What a baby. How often do you see a 25-year-old Pro Bowl QB traded? Crazy. I just hope the Jets don't land him. ESPN's John Clayton seems to think that either the Lions will get him by trading their No. 1 pick, or there'll be a three-team trade involving the Browns and Brady Quinn. As long as he doesn't land in the AFC East, I'm good.

Preston's Comments on the Bills as a Packer

What an douche. This coming from the guy who didn't know it was shotgun and snapped the ball up his own ass crack to no one, causing a fumble. -

A drink at 1pm? No biggie. When we all show up to Orchard Park on gameday and crack beers in the lots at 9am, what does that make us? Alcoholics? -
Former Bill Matt Bowen article on the Bills
lets_go_bills replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like Matt Bowen's writing. Every time someone post one of his articles, it sucks. -
Tim, I enjoyed your article on voluntary workouts. While I'd like to see Owens there, meeting his new teammates and developing chemistry, I can't help but find myself not the least bit bothered by his absence. We know he'll be in great shape and the OTAs and Camp seem like enough time for him to gel with Trent and Lee. Also, I wonder if instead of ignoring team activities and not talking to anyone, that if Peters actually showed up and displayed a great work ethic, a desire to be with his fellow Bills and be in top form/playing shape, that the Bills may be more inclined to close the gap on what the two sides think he should be paid.

Is that for real? That is the most insane mock I've ever seen. Its gotta be one of those walterfootball joke mocks. Like it's Emmitt Smiths mock or something, lol.

Our coaching sucks.

Yup, family night at the Ralph means spending my Thursday night in Buffalo, sweating, eating $1 hot dogs, watching my team lose to the lowly Lions in a meanignless 8th stringers vs. 8th stringers game. lol. But that just means the season and the real fun are about to begin!
