Bills In Toronto Tickets reduced 17%
lets_go_bills replied to joe w bags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reduction in price coupled with the US dollar being more than the CAN dollar makes it much more worthwhile for Buffalonians to make the quick drive into Toronto for the game. I live in Canada and am a Bills season ticket holder and I'm not going to the games in Toronto. Screw that. Buffalo forever! -

Damn. He and Matt Ryan are gonna have a good year together.
-
I didn't think it'd be this much. He's a late bloomer who, at 32, may not have too many years left. He's on top now but I'm wondering how many more productive years he has in him. He definately has less wear and tear on his body, but still...

I think it's also worth mentioning that Reed is entering the final year of his current contract.

Whitner has been charged

I think they'll wind up being dropped too. That, or plead down to something very minor, netting him some community service hours and nothing more. -
Tim, Looks like Whitner's been charged now. Here's the link to the TSW thread regarding his being charged. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...p;#entry1385087

Damn. I hope Tim can chime in on this one. -
I've got my tickets to the draft party at the Ralph and I'm pretty sure I'll be there, barring any unforseen problems with my schedule.
-
Yup. You don't win the Biletnikoff because you're an okay receiver. Seems he was drafted to be a number two, but he is clearly a number three. A very good one, mind you. He is at is best working out of the slot and it really showed last year. The Bills used him well last year, IMO. He figures to have a big year with Evans and TO drawing all the attention. I think he is gonna have an easy time out there and will make plays all year long. He is already a great slot receiver, but with the extra room he's gonna get, he'll do some serious damage out there. Can't wait to see it on the field.

He's a great, reliable slot receiver. He made a lot of great plays last year before he went down. You could tell Trent and the Bills offense really missed his presence.

I'm with Dean on this. You win as a team, you lose as a team. Good football teams find ways to win, whether it's orchestrating a game winning drive, running out the clock, nailing a last second field goal, making a big stop on defense, or forcing a turnover. Don't believe me? Just ask Jay Cutler. He threw for 4,500 yards. He had a great O-Line and great receivers but no defense to rely on. Naturally, they finished 8-8. Mind you, having a good QB helps. A lot. But a QB needs a decent run game to counter balance the pass attack, he needs an O-Line to keep him on his feet and give him time to throw and he needs reliable receivers to run good routes, get open and make catches. Trent has only played two seasons of football, with only one full offseason and one full regular season as a starter. He's gonna get better and be the answer at QB. When we were 5-1 everyone was saying "he's the guy, he's the guy," and "we've found our QB," etc. He showed flashes, now if he can be more consistent, utilize his new weapons and have a reliable O-Line he will succeed.

If Peters stays, do we still draft for the O-line??

Our needs at Guard and Center are still very much real, Skoob. Where do you come up with your ideas for posts? -
Sooo, we DON'T have high character players...

Zing! -
We stopped using the 3-4 because the NFL is a copy-cat league and the 3-4 was not the "cool" defense. So when Greggo took over, he implemented the defensive scheme he coached in Tennessee.

Thanks for the brilliant insight. Yeah, like you're any better. -

Still collecting QBs down there, huh? And Gruden isn't even the HC no more. lol -
http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/11/...-over-tasering/ We'll see how it all shakes out. Who knows how it all went down. Maybe Whitner was misbehaving, maybe the cops were a little over-zealous. But this leads me to believe he may have been wronged by the police in terms of them being perhaps a little too authoritative, for lack of a better word. I'm just speculating, but I think this was a one-time screw up that'll blow over quickly.

Truth be told, there really aren't any blue chippers at any of our need positions, expect OLB, where Curry figures to come off the board by pick three. We need a pass rush, but Schobel coming back helps a lot. Also, our offense was 29th, while our defense was 14th, so despite TO on board, I still think that side of the ball needs to be addressed right away. If our offense can convert third downs, stay on the field with long drives and score points, our defense would look even better. I think it's quite clear the FO is fully committed to surrounding Trent with weapons and will keep doing so. They believe (and so do I), that he is the future at QB and will give him every opportunity to succeed by giving him all the weapons he needs to run an efficient offense. Pettigrew is a complete tight end who is, IMO, a perfect fit for our offense. He offers great blocking ability while having soft hands. We don't need this guy to stretch the field and run down the seam. We need a guy who can get open over the middle of the field, create mismatches, make tough catches, move the chains, occupy safeties, and provide a reliable underneath outlet to Trent. I really think the Bills are gonna take Pettigrew. Maybe he isn't worth the 11th pick, depends who you ask, but if we like him, rate him high and he fills a need, how is it a reach? Would I like to move back a few spots, get an extra pick or two and still get our man? Sure. But trade downs aren't easy and are unlikey unless the draft unfolds in just the perfect way. With the lack of a clear-cut number one DE and a fairly deep class, we can address the DE need with a second rounder.

how much do you hate this offseason?

The losses are tough to swallow and they burn me inside. But Sunday is my day. I love it, I go and I tailgate and have such a great time, every time. Cheering on my favourite team ever with 73, 000 people who love football just as much as I do is the best feeling. I always have a great time at the Ralph. Always.
