  1. It's so hit-or-miss though. All teams draft busts and find hidden gems. I think it's also about draft philosophy. Drafting to fill needs and favoring positional value is smart, IMO.
  2. Looks more like Jauron's playbook.
  3. No one can "decipher" whether a player will be legit or not. Drafting is a crapshoot. Always has been. "Can't miss" prospects have missed and late rounders have turned into Pro Bowlers. Drafting is like 30% scouting and 70% luck.
  4. They don't call him Mount Cody for nothing, huh?
  5. There are only two knocks on him. 1. Average arm strength. 2. Coming off surgery to his throwing shoulder. Can't say I know too much about his arm strength but it in the few Sooner games I've watched it seems more than adequate. And with his accuracy and leadership, I'd be happy if we drafted him, so long as his shoulder checks out okay and he gets a clean bill of health. He had a great statistical season in '08. 4,700 yards passing, 67% completion, 50 TDs, and 8 INTs.
  6. Wow. Good one Donte.
  7. I hear ya. But Kampman is productive, unlike Kelsay and Denney. And we need pass rushing help.
  8. Stats don't tell the whole story. Stats can also be inflated be various factors including, poor offensive play resulting in the defense being on the field longer. IMO both players are fairly equally talented and productive.
  9. Says you. I support the team because I love them but that doesn't mean I deserve to suffer through the futility.
  10. Meh. I suppose mine will be arriving shortly. Yay. They should man up and send out letters of apology for us having to put up with this. We've stoodby the team through this horrendously painful ten year drought.
  11. I think he'd be a great fit and it's a realistic possibility.
  12. As the season draws to a close and we gear up for FA and the Draft, the Bills have a number of holes to fill. DE Aaron Kampman of the Packers is set to hit FA. He is a beast 4-3 DE but struggled mightily as a 3-4 OLB as the Packers made the switch under Dom Capers. He wound up on IR due to an ACL tear but should be ready for camp. No longer a fit in GB, he may become available via FA. While I'm aware we have yet to hire a DC and may very well end up switching to a 3-4, I really don't think we have the personnel to make such a change. I also think the trend of NFL defenses will begin to shift back to the 4-3. As a note, the two SB teams run 4-3 and three of the four teams that played this weekend do too. It's all about personnel and how you use them. In any case, with Schobel's possible retirement, Kelsay's average-at-best play and the unknown that is Maybin, we could use a guy like Kampman to help us do what we've had a hard time doing: Turfing the opposing team's QB. I think this is a realistic possibility and a very good fit for both sides. Thoughts?
  13. That's a good, in-depth article that explains a lot. To sum up, the Bills won't be good until Ralph dies and this team is run by an owner who stays out of personnel decisions and trusts a football guy to run his operation without interference. Look at the Colts. Bill Polian is President and it's his show. He is the one guy in charge. Irsay just signs the checks. He allows Polian to do what he wants and the end result is a football team built in his vision. One that contends every single year. Our only hope is to catch lightning in a bottle. Somehow.
  14. They were lucky. They were 7-7 and got to face Indy and Cincy who had already clinched, rested starters and played uninspired football because they had nothing to gain or lose. The Jets stumbled ass-backwards into the post season at 9-7.
  15. His GT teams didn't exactly instill fear in anybody. Although Calvin Johnson did. I'll give him a chance, (because I have to).
  16. LOL, nice save dude. It's all about semantics. Seriously I will get the slap chop guy in here and have him bite your tongue!
  17. Dude... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=106955
  18. Im pulling for the Saints because it's a great story. But I think the Colts will win because Peyton is amazing and their D is good enough.
  19. I can't prove it. But don't you think the Bills could've hired Frazier to be HC and Gailey as OC? Gailey clearly was looking for work and with Buffalo being the only coahing opening, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think he could've been brought on board to be OC. He's calling his own plays anyways and he's always been thought of as a good OC but a poor HC. Makes sense, no?
  20. The Bills could've had both Frazier and Gailey. That's what kills me.
  21. Congrats New Orleans. Well deserved.
  22. No he didn't. Madden would stay stuff like, "90% of the game is half mental," and "if a receiver catches the ball, that's a completion."
  23. The abrasive Rex is annoying. I'm so incredibly elated they lost. Does he know that if Indy and Cincy hadn't rested starters and weren't looking ahead to the playoffs, they would of lost both games and missed the playoffs with a 7-9 record? I'll give credit where it's due and say their D played well but still, they stumbled ass-backward into the playoffs and got lucky.
  24. Hindsight is always 20/20. Every team in the league could've drafted Tom Brady but he went in the 6th round.
