I don't recall it at all. Before Edwards was Groh for one year then Parcells. Edwards coached a Cover 2 I believe. And the pressure would have to be almost instant and even then I don't see it working.

Nix won't do that. He knows how to run a good draft and knows that early picks on WRs aren't smart, especially when you have glaring needs at LT, QB and NT. WR at pick 9? Won't happen.

A 4-4? There's 8-in-the-box with a hard hitting SS coming closer to the line. But a 4th 'backer? That spells trouble. Smart teams and savvy QBs will just go over the top and destroy you with the pass. An extra blocker, shotgun formations, these would be utilized to counter this. The front seven has never been a front eight because it would upset the balance of being able to equally defend both the run and pass. With a 4-4 you might be un-run-on-able, but teams would unleash an arial assault on you that would god damn embarass you.

His throwing mechanics are not pro-style. The offense he ran is not pro-style. These are major concerns if you want him to be your QB.

Pierre-Paul, Morgan and Graham are all realistic options should Clausen, Okung and Bulaga be gone. Nix comes from a 3-4 team that featured Merriman and Phillips who absolutely terrorized QBs. OLB pass rusher is very likely for us at pick 9.

The only LTs I like at 9 are Okung and Bulaga. But both figure to be gone by then. As for trading down and stockpiling picks, that's always good practice. I'd love to move back to the late teens or early 20's and take NT Dan Williams. Then the two 2nds can be used to grab a LT and QB. Bruce Campbell might be there in R2. McCoy or Tebow figure to be the QBs looked at. The 3rd addresses the need at WR. The rest of the picks can be used to fill out the roster and add depth.

I know what you're saying. But there's a reason no one is bringing him in for "a look". We're not the only team without a QB. And when teams like Miami, Oakland and Detroit are your only suitors, it says a lot about your ability at the QB position.
