Jets seem to do this every year
lets_go_bills replied to uticaclub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate the Jets but they've done a lot to improve themselves this offseason despite already having been one game away from the Super Bowl. Frankly, I'm a little scared. -

Definately Lynch. I'd be sad to see him go. Another jersey bites the dust. -
I'm glad you were able to formulate an accurate scouting report regarding him based soley on a youtube video you watched.

The best player should start, and that's Jason Campbell. -
Welcome to the insanity.

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...137&id=4186 More fuel to the fire. Bad attitude or not, this is a talented football player who is only 24. I just don't wanna get hoodwinked and left holding the bag with a low-round pick for a guy we spent a 1st on only three years ago. I'm agreeable that it appears he should be traded/wants out, but not unless the price is right. This guy is a friggin beast. Beastmode. His trade for a low round pick not only screws us but creates yet another need. We have NO ONE behind Jackson if we trade Marshawn. Any way you slice it, we aren't likely to be a happy bunch when/if he's traded.

For All The People Who Favor Mayock
lets_go_bills replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He put up good numbers in college, improved each year, pro-style offense, good pedigree, etc. Seems something of an enigma though. It's hard not to love the guy based on what's on paper. I think he'll be a star. I have no problem with us getting him at 9. -
Jason Campbell to sign his tender
lets_go_bills replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take it easy. You don't have to like Campbell. He's better than anything we've got on the roster and more of a sure thing than any draft prospect. At least we know he can play in this league. Campbell started all 16 games the last two seasons, showing improvement in his completion %, yards per attempt avg, yards, and TDs. Last year he completed 64.5% of his passes for 3,600 yards, 20 TDs and 15 INTS. This was behind a poor line that allowed him to be sacked 43 times last year. Campbell is only 28 and hasn't even peaked yet. Chris Cooley is not the best TE in football. Cooley only played seven games last year, Campbell's best statistical year. Cooley has only 3 TDs the last two years. Santana Moss is a good receiver, no doubt. Good, not great. Moss has put up decent numbers. Multiple Pro Bowls? Moss played in one, in 2005, which was before Campbell hit the field. He has been on the decline since. Coles? Don't make me laugh. Not to call you stupid, but Jason Campbell and Laveranues Coles have never played together. Ever. And Coles only made one Pro Bowl, not multiple. Get the facts straight before you open your mouth and embarass yourself. Your post reminds me of a quote, "better to never speak and be thought a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt." You don't have to be on board with Campbell as QB but don't be ignorant and post sarcastic and blatently false comments. Look how many things you posted that are actually completely false. -
Jason Campbell to sign his tender
lets_go_bills replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Sending a 4th lands us a starting QB while allowing us to go LT, DT in the first two rounds. We then can have LTs Bulaga or Williams and DTs Thomas or Cody. And then we can use our 3rd on the "scatback" Gailey wants or a LB. Seems an ideal scenario. -
Jason Campbell to sign his tender
lets_go_bills replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Campbell is coming off of a 3,600 yard, 20 TD, 15 INT season. He's played with lackluster weapons/line and too many coaching changes and still has done well. With Gailey calling the offense and his rep of getting the most out of his QB, it seems a no-brainer to me. Clausen, Tebow or whoever we may be targeting, they are unknows on the NFL level while Campbell has shown the ability to play and play well. And he would cost way less! Maybe it makes too much sense. -
What have the Bills done that has impressed you?
lets_go_bills replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're young and have some pieces in place. We need a franchise QB and LT before we can move forward though. I'm staying positive and giving Nix/Gailey a fair shot. Our free agent signings haven't been splashy or sexy but they are good, sound signings. We brought in an O-Line piece as well as two solid veteran defenders who will smooth our transition to the 3-4. We are bound to experience some growing pains but Davis and Edwards should not only contribute but help our guys learn the 3-4 quicker. Edwards will run help defense and occupy blockers whil Davis will make calls and ensure the guys are where they are supposed to be and know their assignments. It wasn't the greatest FA class to pick from this year anyway and I'm glad we didn't splurge or over-spend on players. Nix believes in building through the draft which is the right way to go. He's done his homework and explored viable options including attempting to aquire Donovan McNabb as well as looking into Jason Campbell. I'm impressed with Gailey's no-nonsense approach to workouts too. Getting rid of the TVs and saying we have to work hard is the right attitude. I don't know about everyone else but that spoke volumes to me and really impressed me a lot. The ten years and counting sucks but this new regime has no ties to that previous losing culture and they deserve a fair shot. They'll work hard and do their best. I don't expect playoffs this year but I do expect to see improvement each year for the next three years (which is the minimum length we will have Nix/Gailey). I'm optimistic and look forward to a good draft. Go Bills! -
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...gn-tender-soon/ Jason Campbell is going to sign his restricted free agent tender by Monday apparently. And with the draft closing in fast coupled with Campbell being asked to stay away from team workouts, a trade is immiment. I happen to fall into the group of Bills fans who would like to see Campbell play for the Bills. He's talented and productive and IMO he would do well in here. Here's hoping we make a serious offer for him. I would gladly part with a 4th for his services. Perhaps throwing in Parrish or another late pick this year or next to sweeten the deal.
-
I'd have to agree with that statement. The Bills haven't been quiet or shy about having looked at some of the top pass rushers in this year's draft. I wonder if they plan on drafting a DE/OLB tweener high or if this is just us doing our due diligence in case Schobel opts to retire.

Who is going to be the starting RT
lets_go_bills replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is our opening day O-Line looks something like this: Round 1 rookie (Bulaga or Williams) - Levitre - Hangartner - Wood - Green Here's hoping our O-Line works hard in camp and becomes a disciplined, reliable and effective unit. -

Allen Wilson - NO WAY the Bills take Tebow at #9
lets_go_bills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way Tebow goes at 9. But I'm starting to think he may slip into the bottom part of round 1. The Bills will take him at 41 but I don't think he'll be there anymore. You may see The Bills, Jags or someone else trade up to get him. -

Mel Kiper hears "No" on Claussen to Buffalo

Not to be the grammar-nazi, but it's irritating me when people keep spelling his name "Claussen." It's "Clausen." -
Can Buddy Nix turn Buffalo into a winner?
lets_go_bills replied to mike oxhurtz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol. They knew Manning would not sign with them. They knew the Giants wanted him. They knew they wanted Rivers. The picked Manning to swing the trade and land the pick (Rivers) they really wanted while picking up an extra pick along the way. There's long been debate over who "really" went number one, but everyone knows how if went down. -
Chris Brown on NFL.com plays GM

Opinions differ. But if he really does project as a RT, you wouldn't see him going in the top-ten in every mock.
