  1. His best days are simply behind him. He's on a rapid decline. He had a good career but is not going to be much good to anybody. You'd think Chicago learned their lesson after signing the washed up Orlando Pace. Might be time to retire when Buffalo and Chicago are your only suitors.
  2. And Assistant GM Whaley will soon take over and continue to build a winner. I really like the hiring of this guy.
  3. Under Shanahan, the Denver run game utilized the zone blocking scheme as is explained in the link above. No flashy stuff, no dancing, the RBs were asked to hit their hole, make one cut and run. That's it. One cut and accelerate full speed ahead.
  4. Congrats on being only the 8th person to post that here in the last three days.
  5. Schobel was quoted as saying if he were to continue playing it would only be for the Bills.
  6. Good stuff. Thanks for posting. He's a big, thick and strong kid. Has big mitts too and will use them violently. It's not glorified work, but it sure is gosh darn important. He's a superb run stuffer and the quintessential NT.
  7. Thanks to Marshall's trade, he's gonna rock his familiar #15.
  8. Dez Bryant is gonna rock Irvin's #88 in Big D. Big shoes to fill.
  9. If you care: http://www.cnbc.com/id/36784645 As was posted days ago, Spiller will don #21.
  10. Defense: DL: Stroud and Carrington rotating - Troup on 1st and 2nd down, Williams on 3rd and long 2nds - Edwards LB: Schobel if he's back, otherwise Mitchell rotating with Moats - Posluszny - Davis - Maybin DB: McKelvin - Byrd - Whitner and Wilson rotating unless Whitner finally emerges - McGee
  11. If we were still running a 4-3 than I would say bring him in ASAP! Reuniting him with Stroud to form a run stuffing duo would be awesome and with Stroud here, it would be an easy sell to Henderson too. But he's been released for a reason. Still worth a look though.
  12. If Baltimore is still shopping the guy, Nix better take another good, hard look at Gaither. Now that the draft is over and done with, Nix can't possibly be satisfied with the guys he has playing LT heading into the new season. I, nor anyone else around here can possibly know what Baltimore is asking for when it comes to Gaither. It was long rumored to be a 2nd. But it seems to me that if a team is shopping a young and legit LT at that price, it is either a) a load of crap; or b) there's something very wrong with him. I'm no GM, but if you have no LT and can get one who's shown he can play for a 2nd round pick, you do that deal. It would strengthen our team, address a need at the game's 2nd most important position and put a lot of Bills fans at ease about the upcoming season. This would also allow us to use next year's 1st round pick to address QB or WR.
  13. Last year wasn't his make or break season. This year is. The Bills finally have a good offensive mind coahing them. Gailey will get the most out of Trent and will work with him, restoring his confidence. I think Spiller's explosive versatility will add a whole new dimension to this team and Trent will benefit. Of course a lot of our offensive success, (who am I kidding), ALL of our offensive success hinges on the performance of the O line. I love Levitre and Wood but LT and RT are big ?s right now. The strength of our run game will keep teams honest but with only one legit receiving threat, I fear we will see a lot of Cap'n Checkdown's signature move. Evans' effectiveness can easily be eliminated by double teams, which he will see a lot of. Until someone emerges opposite him, we're screwed. I can see Spiller making a lot of appearances in the slot. And here's hoping Shawn Nelson becomes a threat underneath and in the seam. And here's hoping James Hardy can live up to his tremendous physical abilities. And here's hoping Steve Johnson can re-capture some of that promise he showed early on. Is it time to re-sign Owens yet?
  14. Switching to a new defense and having lots of young players, not to mention being fairly weak at LB, says to me that signing a vet who is familiar with this D would be a good idea. A reasonable two year contract would be ideal. With Schobel's status still up in the air, Maybin being an unknown and no one else behind them, Thomas could prove a worthwhile signing to help us bridge the gap until we can find guys who can play OLB in our 3-4 and firmly entrench them in those spots.
  15. They certainly beefed up the DL. That, coupled with are good secondary should yield excellent results eventually.
  16. Your post made me laugh. Seriously though, our team is completely devoid of any playmakers. Spiller gives us a multi-threat weapon who can score. I don't know about you, but for me, watching Lindell kick FGs gets old fast. I like TDs better.
  17. Big boys who can stop the run.
  18. Not to mention they have Oakland's 1st next year too. The rich get richer. I don't know how they do it.
  19. Can you explain to me how he's a diamond in the rough?
  20. Thanks for cluttering the already cluttered board with a retarded thread. A post like yours is better suited for the shout box. Thanks again.
  21. Don't know, don't care. Go Bills.
  22. I agree it's been a good day. But if you think our line isn't that bad, you're wrong. Our line sucks. It's horrible. And we need tackle help.
  23. Big boy to fit the new D but I do not like this pick. Bad pick.
