  1. No kidding. That's what I've been trying to preach. The guy was a third round pick, a rookie, who spent the offseason as a backup and then was suddenly thrown into the fire in the season. And he did well. Can you imagine how good he can be now that he has that starting NFL experience, a whole offseason to train and practice as the number one guy. He's gonna be great, how can you not be excited indeed.
  2. The "hate" comes off as uneducated ignorance. The "love" is terrifying because it either means we're gonna be a force to reckon with, or it's just pity. But I would have to agree with Clayton on his comment. Go Bills.
  3. GREAT find. This is a good video, thanks for posting. Can't wait to see that 6'6" beast get on the field. He was a STEAL at 41. I wanted him at pick 11, actually. How can you cover that guy? He's gonna be great.
  4. I'm on board for sure. I've been wanting this guy on our team for a while, I was so happy when I heard we picked him up. Hell, I wanted us to grab him in round one.
  5. It's funny because, while he is the best returner in the draft, we have two electric returners already: McGee on kicks, and Parrish on punts. Still, they'll factor him in somehow. He'll get a chance to field a few.
  6. It's easy to win when you cheat though. Truth is though, that board looks like ours, just the Pats version, lol. The first post is infuriating.
  7. I actually took the time to read that giant post and applaud your wisdom. You're right when you say that in the Cover 2 the CBs are to bump receivers off the line and cover in the short area and eventually "pass" them off to the safeties. That said, we don't ALWAYS play Cover 2, it is our base package, but not our only D. When you have a shutdown CB like Clements, you are going to make adjustments to your D scheme so that he is on the other team's top WR most, if not all the time. This ensures the best chance of neutralizing the opponents top target. McGee is the better CB (more athletic, better ball skills), Greer did well though. Our problem was simple, no pass rush. Simply put, the Cover 2's success is wholey contingent on the front four applying pressure consistently. The D-Line was to blame for our poor pass defence. Stroud, Johnson, and Ellis will fiz this. McKelvin will be brought along slowly, and I expect him to start the season as our nickel corner, but by the mid-point of the season he will be starting opposite McGee.
  8. Holy crap! The network footbal talking heads actually have something nice to say about us? And think we're on the rise? They've been calling us bad for years, and rightfully so since no playoffs this millenium. But now they say were gonna be good!? This is a sign. Playoffs baby. Now I'm really excited for the season. Go Bills.
  9. That 03' draft was tops for me; Willis is good (not as good as he thinks though), Kelsay starts, Crowell starts, and McGee starts, while Aiken and Haggan were valuable ST contributors. Mind you, the 07' draft may end up being king sooner rather than later because... Lynch is awesome and our featire back. Posluszny will be a star and is a tackling machine. Edwards looks like he could be the QB of the future for us. And Wendling is a gunner who is the best punt-cover man in the biz.
  10. He's also drawing interest from Green Bay and Oakland. Trent's the guy IMO, for sure. But adding a veteran QB with starting experience might be a good idea. But only for the league minimum, or close to it for Daunte.
  11. Mike Hart is tiny though. The Bills clearly wanted a bigger back.
  12. Yes. While he's under pressure to perform, I think Trent will emerge. Think about it, he played well as a third round pick rookie being thrown into the fire while spending the whole offseason as a backup. Now, he is named the starter, has the whole offseason to learn the playbook, and get in the reps with our number one offence. He will be better, and can only get better.
  13. 1. Keyshawn, while cold, may be right. JP is bad, and our O was bad, but Trent's our QB now, plus the Bills are on the up and up. 2. Chad has it good, Carson throwing to him, TJ opposite. 3. Chad almost killed when we played them last year That hit rocked his world.
  14. Although very early, no QBs taken in the first round? Crabtree is a lock for number one overall.
  15. It's funny, he had nothing but praise for us in his little blurb there, yet only a C. C'mon, our draft was at least a B. We got the best CB inn the draft at pick 11, and the best WR in the draft in round two, and we didn't have to make any aggressive trades to get it done. We gambled, and won.
  16. Kiper's an idiot. John Adams, you're post of Kiper's 05 big board gave me an idea: We don't we give Kiper draft grades based on his board/mocks. In this case, Kiper gets a F.
  17. To be honest I think McKelvin will probably just be the nickel corner to start, unless he has a wicked training camp. By the middle of the season he'll probably be starting opposite McGee.
  18. Not to mention the Bengals picking Jerome Simpson in round two. And picking him OVER Limas Sweed, Malcolm Kelly, and DeSean Jackson.
  19. Nice post. There's too much negativity, it brings me down man. Some people are impossible to please, it's never good enough. I loved this draft and am so pumped about this coming season. Renewed optimism.
  20. I'll explain this in a simple equation. Pats Offence + All-pro Giants D-Line = Brady pressured, sacked, hit. Bills + DE = Improved pass rush. = More Brady pressure, sacks, hits. Bills + CB1 = Area of need filled with top corner in draft. = Guy who could cover Moss. = Guy who can return kicks. Bills + CB2 = Prospect who adds depth to a positon that needs depth. Bills + CB3 = Tweener who could play safety too. = Adds CB depth. = STer who can use speed to cover kicks. Bills + OLB = Area of need for depth. = Speed LB who will contridute on ST right away. = LB that can cover, which means good for 3rd and longs. It was a good draft.
  21. Thank you. You're right. People seem to think it's been an "ST" draft. Such nonsense.
  22. You're way off. You land starters in rounds one, two, and three. The rest of the draft is usually depth players. It's because these guys are lower round that they will begin their careers on ST. Other than CB and WR, what other starting positions do we have vacant? None. And don't say FB.
