Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Well Mr. Lucas, what did we learn today? Do not mess with Steve Smith.

Cool. No way we're picking that high though. I think Crabtree is gonna be special. -
Tasker for HOF video from NFL Network
lets_go_bills replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the great video. There was a debate post a few days ago in anticipation for that NFLN segment. I think Tasker is an HOFer, but I'll admit, it is tough to select an STer, especially OVER guys who starred on O and D. Both sides made some great arguements, but I think Tasker made too many important and game-changing plays not to be in HOF. He was MVP of a pro-bowl too! -
Cool, thanks. SI has always taken the best photos in sports.

I hope that's sarcasm. It's not about the money, he has tons of it. He just wants to play and win. Makes him happy, makes him feel like a kid again. Football is all he knows, all he's ever done. It can't be easy to walk away.

How desperate is the Dolphins QB position?
lets_go_bills replied to DDD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder what Tim Couch is doing these days. -
I don't wanna take any chances! How many times has he played at the Ralph? Three?

jeeze what is up with this
lets_go_bills replied to BillsD#1in2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's camp and the pads are on. Guys are gonna get dinged up. 250lbs monsters running full tilt into each other equals some nicks and bruises. This is where we differentiate between the mice and the men. Who's been keeping in shape and who hasn't. Let the fun begin! -
He will probably leave, seeking the best deal possible. Someone will over pay for him to shore up a OLB spot. Being in a contract year, I imagine he is gonna have a big season too, which will only drive his value up, making it too expensive to keep him. I'm sure he'd rather test the market anyway.

You forgot his attempt at CFL too. -
Just like the Packers, I don't wanna face Favre twice a year either. Yikes!

I can't stress enough how insane the fact that NO ONE has talked to or seen Jason Peters since the season ended.
-
PTI is the best sports talk show there is.
-
Exactly. He could be hiding any injury and wants big money so he can secure himself financially, then disclose it.
-
This is really starting to annoy me. There has been no discussions, no talks. No one has seen or heard from Peters. Is he still hurt from the groin injury? Is it something else? Is he in shape? If so, where has he been playing/practicing/working out? Or is this strictly about him wanting a contract? I'm fed up with it. We've missed the playoffs for too many years. And now we have a good, young, promising, and up-start team that is loaded with young talent. This team is ready to compete, ready to learn to win, and on the cusp of becomming an AFC force once again. Just when things are looking up our key piece on the O-Line decides to holdout based on his one year of solid play. Yes, he is underpaid for his position, yes he is only the third highest paid guy on that line. But we finally have some consistency there and some good play, and now the Peters holdout is messing it all up. Our RT has to spend his time getting reps at a position he doesn't play, and our new RT isn't anything to brag about. He is ruining our season, and it hasn't even begun. You have three years left on your deal. Play the year out, show you're the real deal at LT, and then we'll talk big money. It's not like $4 million/year is peanuts either. The part that really gets me is that he hasn't even spoken to anyone and no one has seen him. That is ridiculous. This is silent treatment to the extreme. It is insane. Is Peters a moron, or is his agent the moron, giving him bad advice. In any case, this sucks. If what Brandon said is true, that he will negotiate if he shows up to camp, then he should. But my nagging suspicion is that Peters is either hurt or out of shape or both. That is the only reason why he could be so AWOL. But this has gone on long enough, we need you in camp, the O-Line needs you in camp, Edwards needs you in camp, and most importantly, the Bills and their fans as a whole need you in camp. If he doesn't show up soon, I say make him sit the whole year. Don't trade him either. Just make him sit for three years, for his whole contract. I don't care. Peters is being selfish and is putting himself before the team. This is not right. Anybody else as frustrated as me? Geez I'm pissed. But still... GO BILLS!

Lynch will not be suspended..
lets_go_bills replied to hit and marshawn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bottom line is we should all feel elated. The guy is a beast, who is blossoming into a star. The offence is run through him, we need him, and he won't have any disciplinary action agianst him to prevent him from conrtibuting to our very promising season. I know as soon as he breaks his first big run and scores a TD, all will be forgiven and forgotten. -
Talks with Evans getting serious?

I think (and hope) Evans' deal will get done before the season starts. -
Now that McKelvin is under contract......
lets_go_bills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McKelvin's kick return ability cannot be ignored. His NCAA record of 8 TD returns is proof that he is a weapon. However, I personally would rather him focus on just his CB duties and that's all. The rookie learning curve is steep and CB is a tough position to play. His attention, energy and effort should not be divided. McGee and Parrish are established threats in the return games. I do think that rotating McKelvin in with those guys is a good idea. It will serve to prevent fatigue and give McGee and Parrish rest so they can be fresher for their respective sides of the ball. It also may prevent injury/wear down. This is a good problem to have. -
Steve Tasker among "10 best players not in Canton"
lets_go_bills replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sharpe only played six season. They were great seasons, but still only six. He also wasn't on their SB winning team, although he would have been. I feel really bad saying this because he was an amzing player and is a great person too, but I just don't think he is worthy of enshrinement. The worst part is, had he not sufferred the injury, he would probably be the greatest WR of all-time, maybe second only to Rice. Sharpe was so good and talented. Him and Favre would have been the best tandem ever too. It sucks talking about "what could've been." -
Steve Tasker among "10 best players not in Canton"
lets_go_bills replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for clearing that up, I wasn't totally sure on the HoF rules. I still think Carter was great and worthy of HoF enshrinement. You're right when you say numbers aren't everything, but he put up big numbers and was a main cog in a very dominant offence that hung a lot of points on teams. His eight straight seasons of 1000+ receiving yards and 86+ receptions shows consistency, and lead to eight straight pro bowls. He also had five straight seasons of double-digit TDs. I know he had his share of off-the-field problems (alcohol and cocaine), but he recommitted himself, got clean, and turned his life around. That should be recognized too. The fact that he was not inducted in the class of '08 comes as a surprise, but he will eventually get in. It seems we find ourselves in the same debate as HoF voters and other sports media: Who is worthy of enshrinement, and who isn't. -
Steve Tasker among "10 best players not in Canton"
lets_go_bills replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rice is the greatest for sure. Sharpe was amazing, but his career got cut short by injury. Reed belongs in the Hall too. But Carter is second all-time in receptions and fifth all-time in receiving yards. I felt he deserves first-ballot consideration, but sometimes worthy guys get squeezed out because Canton only takes seven at a time. -

He retired in '02 and you must wait five years, so he was eligible in '07, no? -
Steve Tasker among "10 best players not in Canton"

It is a horrible injustice that Tasker is not in the Hall of Fame. He was amazing and made a lot of great plays. I remember a while back about someone in the sports media saying a former Bills staffer gave him a video of ten plays that Tasker made that either dramatically changed or won games. ST is a part of the game too. An important one. Also, Cris Carter put up insane numbers. How is he not in there?
