There are always things to watch for in the season. This year there are few non-Bills things I've got my eyes on. 1. Which Favre will play in '08? The '06 Favre or the '07 Favre. 2. Will Michael "the burner" Turner be a beast? 3. In which week will Merriman's knee explode? 4. What's gonna happen with Boldin? 5. Are the Browns for real? I think they'll flop. 6. Are the Colts still the kings of the AFC South, or is it the Jags turn? 7. Will "Purple Jesus" (best nick-name ever) top 2,000 yards? The record even? That's all I got for now. Hopefully this can generate some discussion.

I thought he chopped his hand off.

Final cuts are just around the corner and the 53-man roster will be ronded out. Youboty may have saved his job. Wright fumbled away his. Anywho, while I'm not stating anything new or crazy, I felt like projecting my starters for our Bills anyways. Offence: WR Evans LT Walker LG Dockery C Fowler RG Butler RT Chambers TE Royal WR Hardy QB Edwards FB Barnes RB Lynch Defence: CB Greer FS Simpson SS Whitner CB McGee LB Crowell LB Posluszny LB Mitchell DE Schobel DT Johnson DT Stroud DE Kelsay Special Teams: K Lindell P Moorman PR Parrish KR McKelvin *sigh*, I need the season to start.

They're both great. Let's not lose sight of that. But McGee is our top CB, therefore he is extremely important. I want him to be fresh for defending top WRs, so I think he should not return kicks anymore, purely for the sake of fatigue and injury prevention. McKelvin can handle the return kick duties, getting by on instincts and athleticism, while still learning the ropes as a CB.

edwards will be the next brady/roethlisberger
lets_go_bills replied to robert's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad you mentioned this comparison. I was thinking to myself how Trent will be like Big Ben. They'll ask him to be a "game manager," letting the run game, defence, and ST handle the load. They'll just ask him to play smart and conservative, while limiting his mistakes. I envision him being this kind of guy for the year, then emerge as a full blown QB capable of carrying his team from next year on. Right now he's not ready to put the team on his shoulders and go like Brady and Manning. Easing a guy in like this is best for our team anyway. -
Winners and losers from tonights game?
lets_go_bills replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just got back from the game. I think Youboty helped himself, but it may be too late. I also think Wright got himself cut with that fumble. He was running and saw the tackler, lowered his shoulder, ready for contact. The ball was on the OTHER side, opposite the defender, and he still coughed it up big. You simply can't do that. Not in the NFL, not in preseason against a weak team's backups. Congrats to Omon. -
[closed]LETS GET PUMPED FOR THE SEASON
lets_go_bills replied to SAM HARRIS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I hear ya. But knock off the caps, it's annoying. Seriously. The Bills do rock though. Should be a good year, but only if Peters is playing. -
I am starting to believe we need to trade Peters

I think this whole thing has got everyone frustrated. To the extreme! -
Holy crap. AGAIN!? How retarded is Faulk. Seriously. Great player, but man is he stupid or what? I can't get over it. He's either the most ignornat human being alive or just hates the Bills uncontrollably and does not do any homework. His is the dumbest talking head ever. Period. I am insulted.

I think there's one thing about JP...

I mentioned his beard when I saw him on bb.com giving an interview after pratice when Trent went down and I said the same thing. The first thing I noticed was, my god that's a ridiculous beard. You'd think he was playing playoff hockey. -
Well, like all posts regarding preseason, I'm gonna start out by saying: I know it's only preseason but... ...but the Bills looked good for the most part. Best play: Kelsay sacks the Pillsbury Throwboy... hard. Great hit, way to square up and follow through. Worst play: McKelvin got beat bad. The play cost the Bills the shut out. When the opposing team is on their own 6, you stuff em, not give up a 94 yarder. Otherwise, good overall performance. Spoiled the new stadium's opener. Haha! NFLN has the higlights, check it out if you like: http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80a41671 Go Bills.

? regarding helmet communication
lets_go_bills replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I hear ya. I'm all for the old school too. I guess they're good when you've got 70,000+ people yelling all around you. On another note, didn't MLBs just get the microphone to level the playingfield since he QBs the D? It used to be just QBs up until recently, I think. -
Kids.............Don't do Steroids
lets_go_bills replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't intentionally do steroids. I know saying it was a "tainted supplement" isn't exactly the most plausable excuse, but if you do your research you'd learn that the substance he tested positive for was one that wouldn't afford him a beneficial result befitting the risk, and it has a long life in the body, therefore making it a stupid choice since it would show up in his system for a fairly long period of time. I'm not defending him, simply stating the truth. I was there at the Chargers game, his first game back from suspension, and I too serenaded him with steroid taunts. But the truth is, it actually was a mistake. -
Marcus Pollard anyone?

True that. Lawyer Milloy style. Haha. -

It's gonna be a mad scramble for those last few tix. So glad I got seasons. -
Marcus Pollard anyone?

Has been. Old and washed up. A shadow of his former self. -
Buffalo had always taken care of its guys. They are not afraid or unwilling to negotiate extensions and the like. This is simply a matter of opinion, but I feel that one should voice their concern/displeasure behind closed doors to management and then go and work your tail off. Peters opted to not show and not speak to anyone, and I frown upon this route. Yes, he is underpaid. But he is under contract for three more years at an ok salary. Buffalo is not stupid enough to simply let this guy go. I am 100% certain they would have extended him soon anyway, he deserves it and has earned it. Unfortunately, Peters ended the year with a groin injury and also had a sports hernia. Buffalo would want to see him healthy before they negotiate. What we have here is a stalemate. Brandon has publicly said that Buffalo WILL negotiate with him, but only if he shows up. It's rather simple in my eyes, just show up to camp, work hard and show you're no slouch and not a one year wonder. Surely that would get him a fat new contract. Poor behaviour should not be rewarded. Buffalo is not being a hard arse, but rather it is a smart and logical business plan.

Trading Youboty less of an option
lets_go_bills replied to FightClub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Bills should keep six CBs. But if they opt for five, Youboty is the odd man out. Contrary to what some are saying, it has been my understanding that James has played well and looks to be our nickel corner. -
looking good for opener against Seattle
lets_go_bills replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would never wish injuries on a team, especially after all the injuries we had last year, but I do like our chances vs Seattle. With Engram and Branch out and Hasselbeck's ailing back it should make things easier. Also, their running game has a new look and Julius Jone/TJ Duckett don't scare me. Couple that with a long, cross-country trip and the fact that they are a "home" team, who play well at home but don't fare so well on the road. Not to mention the Ralph is gonna be rockin. -
Great stuff. Thanks a lot for that post. Evans is sure to have a great year. I can't wait to see how Lynch runs behind Barnes. And I heard that Stroud was a beast, knocking Butler on his back during one-on-ones. Thanks again.

They only showed a 10 second clip. And it's MY opinion. His beard looked hilarious, it was out two inches from his face. It was the beard of a depressed man.
-
We couldn't afford to sign Boldin. He's looking for $7-8 million a year. We can't pay two WRs that kind of cash.
-
Cool. Welcome to the club. It's a good club. I'm in 332 too, seems like that's where you go when you first start. I bought mine last year and got to upgrade this year, moving down ten rows.

Losman was on CBS Buffalo yesterday. Did anyone see his beard? My god it is so ridiculous. Un-trimmed and scruff. He was talking about being ready, and he did sound immature and like a baby.

Veteran WR would be good pick up for bills
lets_go_bills replied to bills1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The situation is that Arizona won't grant Boldin and Rosenhaus permission to seek a trade. What's gonna happen is Boldin will play the season and Arizona will try and negotiate again after the season. But if they don't pay him what Fitz got then they'll be trading him. I was reading about his situation last night. Personally, I love Anquan Boldin. I actually think he's the best WR in all of football. No one runs harder and is more physical than he is. I love it and respect him a lot. But now that we have Hardy, I don't see him fitting on our team. Plus the cost will be high. Probably a first and a second round pick.
