  1. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=73718 Deja vu. It's giving me the chills dude.
  2. I like the move. Let the guys go home and rest, lick their wounds, spend some time with the families. Then come back next week with their batteries re-charged and ready to work.
  3. His best days are behind him and he's getting up there in age. But I would love to have him on our team and think he would do very well. But he's still owed a decent chunk of money and it's hard to justify that if he's on the downside of his career. But with the Chiefs in full rebuilding mode, they may be willing to part ways with him. The question is, at what cost. Trades a very uncommon in the NFL and I doubt there will be much movement. That said, I would not offer higher than a 4th for Tony.
  4. Yeah. But too many DTs bust. Hindsight is always 20/20. I'm happy as hell with Whitner. But yeah, Ngata is a friggin beast.
  5. Because we drafted a high character safety who is the leader and heart of our defence.
  6. I like it. But I liked the past version too.
  7. The slants have been hurting us all year. But a Cover 2 is supposed to prevent the big play and sometimes guve up the small gains. Still, this has to be addressed. Perry has some work to do. Back to the drawing board.
  8. It all hinges on whether Trent gets back soon or not. I've had us 11 and 5 or 10 and 6 all along and I'm sticking to it.
  9. Although not reviewable, one has to wonder if Bush would've fumbled had he not been facemasked. I don't think he would have. Greenway pulled it pretty good, turning his face. Not cool.
  10. If you saw the Evans TD then you're good. The only other good play was when Lynch broke that 20 yarder.
  11. I'm starting to think that DE may actually be our biggest need. Granted, we do need to address the OLB and TE positions, but our DE play has been sub-par at best and they ain't gettin any younger neither.
  12. I can't stress enough, the hit was clean. It was the follow through and keeping his head pinned to Trent's chest/chin the whole time and driving him into the ground that I feel was dirty and malicious. Intent to hurt was there IMO.
  13. I was thinking about this same topic. Man he hits hard.
  14. Sorry to play devil's advocate here, but Fitz caught 2 TDs against us and Boldin was out. His WR supporting cast consisted of a rookie and a second year nobody.
  15. I know! His helemt was pinned onto him the whole time! He was even slow to take his helmet off Trent. It WAS malicous and intent to hurt was there.
  16. My point? Even if Trent recovers in time for SD, he'll still be at risk for more concussions. 4 times more likely to be exact. This is not good. Especially for a young QB. Recovery time also goes up. So do the severity/damage of them. Concussions killed Eric Lindros' once promising career. We'll have to keep him super-protected from now on. Any more big hits will ruin us. Obviously this is worst-case-scenario, but it is scary. I'm not gonna hit the panic button yet.
  17. Concussion of the brain: A traumatic injury to the brain as a result of a violent blow, shaking, or spinning. A brain concussion can cause immediate and usually temporary impairment of brain function such as of thinking, vision, equilibrium and consciousness. Recovery from concussion: It takes considerable time and energy for the brain to correct this chemical imbalance. Changes in the brain start to resolve immediately, but the recovery time seems to vary. The time depends not only on the severity of the blow, but also on how many previous concussions a person has had. After a concussion, the arteries in the brain constrict. This reduces blood flow to the brain and lowers the rate at which oxygen is delivered to the brain. At the same time the demand rises for the sugar glucose which provides energy to the brain for healing. But the need for more glucose cannot be met by the narrowed arteries and this discrepancy ("mismatch") creates a metabolic crisis. Eventually the damaged brain cells (that survive) do slowly repair themselves, the demand for glucose eases, the arteries to the brain open wider, and blood flow to the brain returns to normal. However, the brain stays in a lowered metabolic state, a quiescent condition, for a considerable length of time before it can return to normal. Return to normal activities: The American Academy of Neurology has established guidelines for athletes with concussion returning to play. The guidelines divide concussions into three grades of severity, with a prolonged knockout being the worst. The Academy recommends that athletes whose symptoms -- headaches, nausea, amnesia, blurred vision -- do not clear up within 15 minutes, or who lose consciousness even briefly, be kept out of competition until their symptoms have disappeared completely for at least a week. Susceptibility to future concussions: Once a person has had a concussion, he or she is as much as four times more likely to sustain a second one. Moreover, after several concussions, it takes less of a blow to cause the injury and requires more time to recover. Source: http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=13166
  18. Third highest paid WR, after Fitzgerald and Smith. He was worth every penny. Lee's an all world talent, strong and respected leader, and a classy, high character guy. Totally a great deal. I'm thrilled about it.
  19. My take: The hit was NOT late, the hit was NOT dirty, but... It looks like Wilson really followed through, to the point of driving Trent down and into the ground, keeping his helmet under Trent's chin. I didn't like that and I think that was malicous and excessive. Especially considering the ball was released. There was no need to follow through like that and drive him down considering the ball was released. While I'm sure he didn't intend to hurt Trent, I think he intended to hit him as hard as possible. I know it may seem to some that I so badly want to point a finger/place blame. But I'm seeing clearly and think Wilson should be fined/suspened a la Smith. While it was too late to stop his hit, as the ball was just released before he made contact, and the game is played at warp speed, I think that he shouldn't of followed through like that and shouldn't have driven Trent down into the ground with his helmet pinned to Trent. That part WAS dirty. Link:
  20. Mr. Carter, The only thing you're an expert on is cocaine so pipe down.
  21. I think Jauron still should of challenged. I definately think Royal's knee did not hit the ground. But did his shoulders touch down? Should of thrown the flag, just to be sure.
  22. Yup. Bye week came at a good time. Let's lick our wounds and get ready for the Chargers.
  23. I've only seen the hit twice, but as much as I want to say it was dirty (and believe me I do), I think it was clean. It was just a monstrous hit from a big time player who stands 6'3" 230lbs. Wilson is a big, hard hitting dude. But I'm also of the mind that protecting the QB is a priority and the play should, and probably will, be reviewed to ensure it was clean.
  24. Trent's injury killed us, then the defence collapsed. JP was horrible.
