  1. Yeah. And mathematically we would too. Like I said no O Line blocking and no run game. I put a lot of thought into what I posted and I stand by it through and through.
  2. His first real action and he did very well.
  3. That ball was very undethrown and James did a great job adjusting to it and tried his best to prevent the INT. It's funny that you said this though, because at the game in the second quarter I yelled out this: "James Hardy is six-foot-five." Seems crazy he didn't even register a catch.
  4. Defend him? I expect negativity after a loss. I expect negativity because we've lost two straight. Divisional games too. But you want people to defend him? C'mon. 1. The Jets harassed him all day. The O Line did not block at all. Trent was hit, hurried, and sacked all freaking day. No time to pass. And he STILL managed to complete 68% of his passes. 2. Our already non-existent run game faded even more. Our leading rusher had 16 yards. We had 30 total rush yards. It was obvious from the beginning of the game that we ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT RUN THE DAMN BALL. The Jets were then stacked to defend the pass and pressure Trent. 3. Reed was out, that hurt a lot. Granted Parrish made some catches, but nothing on a consistent level, nothing that actually scared anyone. Hardy is still not ready either. Royal is still iffy. This leaves Lee Evans as our only viable pass-catching threat, which the Jets knew, and they smartly double teamed him and took him away. 4. Down only 6 in the 4th quarter after Greer's amazing INT TD, the place was rocking and the crowd was back into it. Those defensive plays were met with some very loud cheering, and the defense could not get off the field, letting NY chip away and drive downfield in a 14-play 8 1/2 minute drive that killed our chances. That was uncharacteristic of our D. 5. Some of the worst and insane refereeing I have ever seen killed us and ate our timeouts and challenges. Some of their spots were just disgusting. Terrible, terrible refs. (Fine me! ) Anyone who thinks we need to justify/defend Trent is being ignorant, is looking to place blame on one guy, and must not have actually seen and paid attention to the game. 30 yards rushing. That's it! For the whole game! 30 yards! THAT is what killed us. Trent played really well today, especially given the circumstances.
  5. I didn't know they still had dial-up internet.
  6. I call him Coe or Coe College.
  7. Cool. Good stuff. Hard to argue with the names on that list.
  8. This has been going on for years. Only in my experience it has gone: J-E-T-S suck, suck, suck.
  9. Cold and clear. That's football weather.
  10. No one has been better and more consistent since the start of training camp up until now than Lee Evans.
  11. I like 'scoe better on punts like most, but I think he could be just as lethal on kicks. He's quick, agile and "darty" enough to avoid a clean hit, I think. So injury would not be my concern. Of course a healthy McGee is as dangerous as any on kicks. He's fast and knows how to find his blocks. McKelvin has looked hesitant, he slows down and almost stops a lot. He needs to find his blocks and then just burn downfield. It's almost like he's waiting for something, but it never comes. I guess I would liken it to his being a rookie. Sort of a deer caught in headlights. He'll get over it.
  12. I'm not knocking the 08 class, in fact I think it's awesome the we're deep enough to NOT have to play the rookies much. But when he had played Hardy is timid and looks uncomfortable. He's just so freaking big that it seems hard to imagine anyone being able to cover him.
  13. If I owned a team I'd name the stadium after myself. It's just cooler that way! But yeah, the story behind the naming thing goes something like this: (correct me if I'm wrong on this) In 1972 Rich Products paid $1.5 million for 25 years of naming rights (apparently this was one of the first instances of "naming rights" for a stadium). After the original deal expired in 1998, the stadium was renamed after its founder/owner, Ralph Wilson Jr. because Rich Products didn't want to pay the greatly increased naming rights price, which was actually at par with other prices around the league.
  14. TD and PAT (7) TD and 2-Point Convert (8) 15!
  15. They stopped the Chargers dead. Trent had all day to throw, never got hit, and had a career day. I see what you're getting at, but they dominated against SD.
  16. Lynch ran well against Miami, he averaged 4.6 yards/carry. Problem was, he only got 13 carries. Lynch needs 20-25 carries a games. Yeah he caught 5 passes, but he needs to run a lot more. He's too good to not use him more.
  17. Like when he talks like his poop don't stink on Football Night in America?
  18. Guess he's not feeling the Favre-ness. http://www.fannation.com/peter_king_challenge/peter_king
  19. "I'm not sure I've ever seen so many people consume so much alcohol and remain so relatively good-tempered." What!? That doesn't sound like us at all. Good-tempered? C'mon!
  20. It's not preseason. I'm not looking forward to trotting out a bunch of unprovens at our already weak position against the 1st team NFL defence of a divisional rival. I'm rather nervous and apprehensive about the situation. All eyes will be on how they perform. I'll be looking for Hardy to stop being a baby and use his insane size advantage to anihilate CBs.
  21. I forgot all about that formation. We used it in only the first two game, I believe, and like you said, it had good success. It wasn't as "gimmicky" as the wildcat, which is why I feel it could be utilized on a more frequent basis. They should go back to it, as it creates all sorts of mismatches and really makes the defence account for everyone on the field. It gives Trent more options and opens up both the pass and run games. And if you use three WRs with both Jackson and Lynch in the backfield, then Royal is off the field. Yay! I think it makes too much sense because it puts all our playmakers on the field. It also affords Trent three downfield targets and two reliable and effective check downs. I say do it.
  22. Without even reading the article I was going to say Adrian Wilson.
  23. Divisional games are always important, but given the close, competitive year in the AFC East, these games have even more importance. And with the season half in the books, they also have dramatic playoff implications.
  24. You're right. Timid is probably the best word to describe him.
