I hope they work in the Bills organization
lets_go_bills replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While very early, that appears to be a solid first three rounds, drafting quality players to fill our three biggest needs. -
Using my marketing prowess I've come up with four options, all of which are quite good, therefore I am entitled to suddenly become a GM and make all personnel decisions. 1. The 2009 Buffalo Bills: Something exciting is not gonna happen. 2. Three cheers for mediocrity! 3. The Buffalo Bills, promoting retards from within since 2006! 4. The Buffalo Bills: Allergic to the playoffs since 2000.

Bills lack of penalties is a problem not a positive
lets_go_bills replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you serious? Playing hard with fire and passion is one thing but... I'm sure the last thing our team needs is guys getting fined and suspended, especially since we're in what I consider "the suspension era." I'm willing to give you a reprieve if you are still drunk from New Year's. -
Unfortunately the first tie-breaker when records are the same is not head to head, rather it is strength of schedule and the Niner faced a weaker schedule than we did.

Biggest Problem--We Need a Top Flight GM
lets_go_bills replied to NavarreFL_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent points. Ralph is certainly still "hurt" after TD. But we once had Bill Polian. There are a number of good-looking potential GMs out there. Floyd Reese and Charlie Casserly are out there. I just feel like if there are three guys calling the shots, there may be some conflicting opinions. With one guy making the decisions you just trust him and let him lead your team. I'm especially wary of the fact that Ralph continues to promote from within, resulting in what seems like a sort of rewarding of failure. Guy and Modrak were around in the TD era. And Brandon is a marketing guy! After three straight 7-9 seasons under the same regime, including a 2-8 collapse down the stretch, which also includes 0-6 against the division, and no one takes the fall. We're actually worse than our record says. Three cheers for mediocrity! -
Cool. Thanks for that. While still early, there's no way Taylor Mays falls that far. I like our pick of Gresham, but I don't think Buffalo lets Mays get past them.

Biggest Problem--We Need a Top Flight GM
lets_go_bills replied to NavarreFL_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole GM-by-committee thing is absurd and ridiculous. A team needs to trust one guy to do the job and that one guy needs to have a vision and a sense of direction, while being able to balance a salary cap and making personnel decisions regarding both the draft and free agency. It's no easy job but having a group that includes a marketing guy and two failed personnel guys, who both report to a cheap and legally insane owner is a bad mix, that much is certain. -
Vikings still have 11,000+ tickets for playoff game
lets_go_bills replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is unbelievable. Doesn't even make sense. Is the economy really that bad? Or are the people too busy watching the Timberwolves play basketball? Wow. -
Great article, from the heart of a Bills fan to the heart of a Bills fan. As the losses and mediocrity mount, it is certainly getting harder and harder to come back each year. Perhaps Ralph's mind truly has begun to deteriorate with his age. His poor decisions and rationalizations are really hurting the team and the fans. This management is alienting their fans. And that's what's most important: the fans. We the fans are the only truly "good" thing left about this franchise and now it seems our loyalty and dedication are being tested like never before. I can honestly say that I will renew my season's tickets, but right now I'm in a very sad place because of this team. One day I may walk away from my season's tix, but not from this team. I love them too much. But it is just not fair the way we are being treated. But after free agency and the draft and camp and as the new season approaches, we will all feel better because time heal all wounds. After all, each new season brings about renwed hope and renewed optimism. Go Bills.

Top ten reasons to look forward to next season ....

I'm not so sure I like that list. I'm in a very sad place right now thanks to Ralph. -
Doomsday has come to Buffalo! Go Dolphins!
lets_go_bills replied to hamtenp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're all upset, but geez. You are not a Bills fan if you can become a Dolphins fan. It just is not possible, they are our most hated rival. You are ridiculous. And don't ever come back. -
Sign Marty.

Wild Bill Calling the Shot! SAYS NO TO JETS!
lets_go_bills replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good for him. The man is hot sh-- and he knows it. He's playing hard ball because he knows every team's dream is for him to roam their sidelines. Whether it be this year or next, someone will give him what he wants, simply because he's a winner. We can only dream Ralph would succumb to this..... but he should. -
I don't like this. Keeping Jauron and make Schonert the fall guy would be infuriating to fans. While I don't like having to start over and it certainly is not fair to the guys, especially Edwards, to have to learn a new system, this coaching staff needs to be blown up. The FO too, but since that won't happen, the only coach need be retained is April. Without a one-guy, decision-making GM, the one guy to have a vision and a sense of direction, this team will probably be lost for years.

That's a GREAT read. You can't argue with any of the points he makes. Bang on!

I Want Marty in Buffalo SO Much....
lets_go_bills replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hell yeah! Marty's no b.s., hard-nosed approach to the game is just what this team needs. The guy is a winner. Yeah, he hasn't had much luck in the playoffs, but at least he gets you to them. I'd take one-and-done any day over 7 and 9s. I mean, we're talking about a guy who got fired two years ago after coaching a team to a 14-2 record. All because he lost the squabble with AJ. The best part is, you know Marty would build our O around Lynch, which it should be. You'd see the FB in there more, creating holes for our amazing one-two punch in Lynch and Jackson. And that effective running would open up the passing game big time, allowing the accurate Edwards to complete passes with ease. -

I would love Jim Johnson for HC. He's a great DC and I absolutely love the way he calls his defense. All those blitz schemes are super-effective. Philly always field a good defense due in large part to the coaching by Jim Johnson.

The two SB teams are certain to have some PBers. But they're not gonna play in a meaningless game one week before the big one. Why risk the injury? I have mixed feelings about this report. I get moving before the SB because many fans may not care about football anymore once the SB is over. A better idea may be to put the game at mid-season or in like Week 12 or something and have it be every team's bye week. Of course one could argue you may not have a clear idea of who the best players are at that point. I'm sure the owners/commish will come up with something reasonable.

Not a good sign.

Ok, forget Spagnuolo, let's hire Schottenheimer
lets_go_bills replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy is a winner. I would take one and done in the playoffs any day over 7-9 seasons. And he's a hard-nosed guy who'll run a tight ship and is committed to running the football, we need that.
