  1. I thought we had too many small receivers, no? But still, Marvin would be a great veteran pick up and being a Syracuse alum, he's certainly no stranger to the area.
  2. lol, hissy fit. That was awesome.
  3. There is revenue sharing. Ralph makes good money and the Toronto deal added a boat load of cash to his account. He's definately on the frugal side.
  4. Rotoworld has contract info on players. They say he's signed through 2010. No dollar info though.
  5. I would have a problem with him coming here. His character issue is a huge issue. He is always angry, always opens his mouth and always does dumb things, getting him in trouble. No one can deny his all-world talent, but his off-field problems and poor attitude is a giant red flag. Not to mention the guy always seems to be hurt. Every year it's something. Don't know about you guys, but I have a problem with paying a guy to sit on IR all the time. We don't need any distractions or locker room cancers. And I wouldn't pay anything more than a second rounder.
  6. Lee Evans has more talent and ability than any Bills player on the roster. He just isn't utilized much and the team doesn't play to his strengths. Marshawn Lynch is my choice though.
  7. I'm surprised Dick LeBeau's defense isn't mentioned, especially since it is the top defensive unit of 2008. Jim Johnson calls an awesome defense that is effective and fun to watch. And he does it without any big name players other than Dawkins and Samuel. I really enjoy Jim Johnson's defense because it is a 4-3 base with exoctic blitz packages that are incredibly effective. I like the Cover 2, but it is contingent on having a mean D-Line that can collapse the pocket and turf QBs. Sign Haynesworth and Suggs and suddenly nobody would be able to even get a first down on us, let alone score. Personally, I don't care what the scheme is so long as it works. But I don't like the 3-4 and prefer the 4-3. It all starts in the trenches. Always. Look at the top defenses, they all have great players on the D-Line: Pit/Hampton, Bal/Ngata, Phi/Cole. Need I say more?
  8. Let's hope the Bills finish 12-4 or better in 2009 so that we can have a home playoff game and not be depressed. Don't be ridiculous.
  9. His hiring makes sense for the Browns as they can keep the 3-4. Brett Favre's meltdown and ego cost the Jets the playoffs, not Mangina. But one has to wonder, another 3-4 Belichick protege as coach could yeild similar results. Time will tell.
  10. We played well against the Jets' 3-4 in our second meeting. And we put up some points against Cleveland's.
  11. Didn't know that. That sucks. Then again, you can't blame him after the way the Bills crapped on him.
  12. I know I enjoyed what happened at the game. 4INTs. Go Ed Reed!
  13. Great stuff again WVU. I think the Bills will resign Crowell, it just makes too much sense. He knows the team, scheme, players, etc. He should come at a decent price too. I fully expect the Bills to resign him. I like Vilma and think he could play OLB for us or MLB with Puz moving outside.
  14. I always love your draft posts Astro. While I know it's very early, I think this mock is horribly off. -Three OTs in the first four picks? A bit of a stretch. -Detroit passing on a QB? They need one and QBs are what you build franchises around. -Seems high for Moreno. But Cincy needs an RB. Beanie Wells perhaps? -I don't see Seattle passing on Crabtree, not with their WR corps. Taylor Mays is probably the best player available at our spot in your mock. Some say you should just take the best player available. Mays would fill a need too, but it is tough to ignore DE. Selvie or Brown would be good. I like Greg Hardy too. The hope would be for Orakpo to fall to us. I would hate Michael Johnson, he has bust written all over him. Where's the production?
  15. The offense needs help, but the O-Line finally came together the last 5 or 6 weeks of the season. Signing Peters is important. A pass catching tight end will help tremendously. Trent's needs to keep getting better, while staying healthy. But simply put, you cannot ignore the virtually non-existent pass rush. The lack of sacks should be a terrifying statistic to Bills fans.
  16. No, he shredded his achilles, costing him his explosiveness.
  17. Their conversation seemed kind of awkward.
  18. While my business knowledge is limited at best, the death of Ted Rogers would appear to cripple the chance of a Canadian purchase with the intention of relocating to Toronto. This, coupled with the recession, would lead me to be believe that a relocation of the Bills will not happen, at least not for quite some time.
  19. Some good points in there. Defense does win championships. But our D was pretty good all year (by no means great). Whereas the O was more of a problem. But you're right, most of our attention should be on the D. DE is our number one need, so it should be our number one priority. Funny, the Cover 2 is contingent on pressuring the QB. The game is also won in the trenches, Stroud is great and I'm higher on Kyle Williams than most, but a later round DT wouldn't be a bad idea. With all our cap room plus the cap due to increase, I'd really like to see the Bills take a serious run at Terrell Suggs and make him a big offer. Then still go DE with our 1st round pick, someone to groom for the near future, to rotate with the aging and apparently deteriorating Schobel. If we can resign Crowell, which I think we will, the LB corps should be good enough for the season so long as Puz gets better. Add in a good FS with range and suddenly we have a top-5 defense.
  20. You forgot Hardy pulling a gun on his father.
  21. Well, Ray was indicted with murder. Two people died from stab wounds in a fight. Ray was there. He either did it or helped cover it up and get his friends off. Either way it's bad.
  22. I'd freak, but in a good way. DB is not a popular choice round here but I'd love him. Big time player who can play FS and be paired with Whitner, making each other better. What's not to like. That said DE is undoubtedly the bigger need.
  23. He's a modern day OJ! Gettin away with murder.
  24. LA doesn't have a team, but nearby by San Diego does. And just a little north you have San Fransico and Oakland. Is that really so bad? If you live in LA you have three teams to choose from for your football needs, all within reasonable driving distance. I don't get it.
  25. It's pathetic. It pains me to see so many empty seats, especially for a playoff game. Lord knows most of us would do almost anything for a home playoff game.
